This would suggest its a Science Fantasy!"
I mean sure ig Kirby 64 is a space opera even if I wouldn’t really call the relationships in this game complex. I have more of an issue with you saying Kirby doesn’t sell that much merch. Like okay it’s not as much as Mario, Sonic, and especially Pokemon but Kirby as a character is so much bigger than Kirby the video game series mainly due to how much merchandise Kirby sells especially in Japan. I think Kirby being cute and simple at first but then introducing some darker and more complex ideas as the game/series goes on is one of the core elements that makes it work so I don’t think trying to make the dark stuff more of a focus in the marketing would work.
Yeah I mean we got some great villains but my god we got some abominations that doesn't fit the cute if Kirby (even if it the point) And sadly I don't think normak enemies would sell
Funny, because in 2017, Kirby and Star Wars released their most fanservice-filled games, Star Allies and Battlefront 2. The former, while divisive, was important in revitalizing Kirby's past and finally start an era of Kirby utilizing its history a lot more. Meanwhile, the latter got into a controversy that ruined EA's reputation and started an era of microtransaction regulation. All because they had to go through hoops to justify loot boxes.
my McDonalds only had mario tenuis and ocarina of time (great game but terrible for short sessions at McDonalds) i dont think anyone ever got past mido. later in the years, they had GameCube machines with Mario power tenuis and pikmin, and i think they kept them as is for years and years after the GameCube was retired
