    A good idea i learned from Uncle Tony's Garage is using gasoline instead of parts cleaner. It's cheaper and in some instances works better. I really appreciate you documenting your progress.

      I started using acetone that I had laying around. That seemed to work. I appreciate you watching

    Damn. That machine shop you took to went crazy on painting the whole block. They must not have much homda coming in.

      When I was in their shop 95% of the blocks n heads they had sitting on the shelf (completed work) was American v6 and v8 engines .I guess that should have been a sign ...

    That's a good upgrade on the gear with the pin and woodruff key. You for sure have the cleanest engine on the block. I worked at a tune up shop in the 70's. Part of the shop was rented to a mechanic who did larger projects. I can't tell you how disappointed I was to see his sloppy work, evident in part by his over use of silicon. It looked so unprofessional. I questioned his method and he told me "more was better". He was one of those guys you learned from by NOT following his examples. You on the other hand set some nice examples. Clean, orderly and common sense work. Well done.

    I was going to put money on the timing chain making that noise, being new. Or soming under the cover.
    😂 " im pretty confident that i bent my valves when i hit them with a hammer." MERCH❤? would make a great t shirt.
    Lets hope that noise doesnt come back. Maybe hand crank it a bunch.
    Honestly looks like a blessing, with the way that paint would have absolutely clogged your pick up filter

      Ha! Looking back at it ,that is a pretty funny thing to say lol. I bent it hitting it with a hammer...no shit 🤣. Yeah I'm glad I decided to tear it apart. Fingers crossed crossed that the issue is resolved

    That metallic paint is downright scary to see in the oil. Dont blame you for being paranoid. I would run a pcv though.

      @themechanic6117  5 месяцев назад +1

      I see alot of people mentioning the pcv being blocked off so I'm going to find a way to reinstall it. I ordered the part already

    For stuck keepers I use a hammer and give the valve tip a couple of solid taps.
    I personally like the c clamp style of valve spring compressor that holds the valve closed as this works better for stuck keepers.
    I'm not sure on the K series if it's only the gasket holes that are oversized or if the intake bolts holes are.
    When I port match gaskets where the actual intake can move around I fit a couple of locating bushes.
    Usually it requires drilling out the intake holes first and then press in some suitably sized bronze bushes.
    This way you know everytime the intake bolts on it's exactly aligned.

    Use a socket on the bottom of valve where is so slightly open nd hit it n it will pop the keepers lose 👌🏾

      No, the head is completely stock. Only the intake manifold is ported 👍

    After all this, I hope it solves the noise and it's not a throwout bearing of something else.

      @@themechanic6117 bro if u still get the sound when you start up it’s the VTC gear bro..is there a reason for the RBB vtc?

  • @Felixfixitfelix
    @Felixfixitfelix 5 месяцев назад

    Question why just why is the crank vent are blocked meaning pvc n the valve cover breather blocked…that’s why ur building up crank pressure u can hurt the rings like that just to let u know…

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 месяцев назад

      Yes that was my mistake the first time. All the breather ports were blocked but when it goes back in the car this time I'll be venting at the valve cover for sure. Pcv was cut off and blocked because it was interfering with the intake manifold. The pcv vents into the timing cover which is the same thing as the inside of the valve cover so I'll just vent at the valve cover. ....I just ordered a pcv , I'll find a way to re install it lol
