Agree they need to divide the small bikes from the large... thats how they do it in the North West where I did my younger riding... Every track down here is like that... little ones crashing.. no flaggers...
I like tracks being wide open fornopen practice days. It lets me ride whenever i want throughout the day. However, letting 5 year olds on the track with pros is dangerous and they probably shouldnt let little kids on the track during that time. Maybe do 40 minutes of big bike, 20 minutes of little bike every hour would be a compromise.

Early 2000's, raced a local Texas series during a torrential/flooding rain storm. Flooded the track and the rain never stopped. The river nearby overflowed and came rushing across a section of the track up to the footpegs. Under my helmet I was thinking how crazy this was to be in a actual race with the conditions as they were. Just had to ride or not finish. Then at another track, during a similar series, different year it rained, snowed, and sleeted while we were racing. Before the races started, no snow. A few hour before and during the day, white ground and frozen googles.

Valid points, but don't you think they will be able to figure out a longer lasting battery pack in the next 6-18 months? Yes you might be heavier but are you an A rider like this guy? I am also bummed on the weight, but excited to see the trail riding videos, and range in that setting. I'd love to see Corral Canyon type trails, and then take it to Ocotillo Wells and hit some open desert, tight washes etc and see the battery life.
@ChupacabraOffroad hi, as i said, i think I'll keep my order, and i knew that some had just 20 minutes on the Alta. Not question of A rider, but more that i usually ride around an hour and an hour and half on a motocross track, and was hoping that it could work all day without charging. I don't want to bring a generator, and not all the track will have the option to charge. I also love the power of my yz450f so don't think that I'll like decreasing the power, even if i know that 50 hp on ebike is strong. For the battery, even if they get better in 2 years, that would mean a battery swap and i think in a video someone said around 5000 € for a new battery.
@@mxriderdakar well, maybe you should detune the Varg, so it's not 450 like, so you can ride longer, you pretty much have to be an A rider to be able to flog a 450 anyway. I‘m pretty sure you won’t recognize a little more weight than a 450, because the inertia of this bike is completely different. There are almost no moving parts except wheels and suspension. It is a different dirtbike. You cannot compare it 1on1 to combustion dirt bikes.
That SOC need som tuning. What we see is not battery increasing when on power but the delay. So the lower numbers are measured a couple seconds before we see it. What we need is a function that take throttle position into account and a lo pass filter. Tuned right it should give a steady % with no regards to how much throttle you apply,
The app is alright, there's just about a 4 seconds delay in this video (not synced). It fluctuates like that because that's how showing voltage of lithium-ion cells work, you get voltage drop during load (more power output, more drop) and then it recovers slowly. You'll get used to reading it during no load! Also, yes, your power will get lower the lower your state of charge is because the power is a function of voltage * amperage, and the amperage is fixed by the power level, and the voltage gets lower when the state of charge is lower. Hope that clears some things up, awesome riding my man!

Did you ever explain how the registration process went with your new Stark Varg? I know you ordered it online, then it was shipped from Spain to your California home address, correct? What happens after that? Like, are there any stickers or paperwork that you could show to prove your bike is "legal?" Like if you went trail riding within a state OHVRA? I know when I used to go with my ICE bikes, they would look for a sticker... for example, as you probably know, California has had a Green/Red sticker policy. Thanks for the video and all of the information your have provided (and hopefully will provide more). 👍 PS: BTW, that overlay feature is really cool... how did you do that?! @@TeamDriftEVO I understand what you are thinking, but many off road vehicles parks require a dirt bike to be registered. Now, not registered for highway/road use, but for off-road use. I'm talking about state owned and/or run off highway vehicle parks.
@@jedielder7970 Yeah - But ATM the Stark is not eliglbe (spelling againg) for any kind of registration - as per STARKS own words. just like the Kawasaki H2R - NOT possible to register at all, as per Kawasaki Japan own words, yet people still claim they made a legal registration on some of these bikes.
@@TeamDriftEVO AFAIK some nations (France being one) allow anyone to obtain an approval for a particular bike (an instance, not the model), enabling it to be registered and therefore used on public roads. @bwhaskell i asked Stark why they haven’t put a sensor for the fan and there is there answer: Thank you for contacting Stark. The fan will turn on once the temperature of the powertrain reaches 45ºC. Below that temperature it should not turn on, if so please contact us. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with. Maybe you should tell them that yours stays on. You may have more range then.
5.31.23 Great video. Any racing coming up? Good podcast with Steve Matthes fly racing. I am guessing from the podcast Stark has not shipped any more bikes? Good internet sniffing to find the Stark order entry. Yes liked the app overlay. Good that you have the pit crew with you. I have a similar kind of dog. Black lab, blue healer mix. I rescued him from jail. Currently 15+ years old. On practice riding days riders are all over the place. When are you going to mount the hand brake for the rear? That person riding the #69 bike is going to come find you in the pits and thump you. When are you going to put numbers on the bike?
Nice riding Bryan, I notice you do not crash very much, but you still ride pretty fast, I was the same in my riding days, I knew my limitations, and I rode right on that edge. I like the app overlay, it would be nice if the quality on it was a little better, it's kind of blurry.
The battery percentage fluctuation almost looks like it is trying to predict what your battery will be after a period of time or after a lap. It doesn't make sense that is fluctuates that much to indicate current battery charge.
@@NirHason great, bcz I normally run a 250 2T and don’t like engine break at all. But think this bike will be great when it gets more custom maps to chose from. Specially so I’ll don’t get to much bottom power, think that’s the issue with my Alta that it has to much bottom power
Nice riding, hope to get ours later this year. You mention a power drop at about 20% is this in al mappings? Maybe if you set it on lower power you don’t notice this? Or maybe at 15 or 10% battery?
I haven't tested that, but it's likely just a reduction in max absolute potential output irregardless of map. Guessing if you were in a 40hp map, you probably wouldn't notice the power drop as soon as i do running in 60-65hp map, for example.
That means battery will not last one Super Motocross moto (30+ 3 laps) 😢 they will probably ride with 80hp and power fade away on the last few minutes.
@@nossramo81 I'm not certain but I don't think you could run an 80hp map in the 450 class...unless it's actually an open class? the peak hp of 45s in in the 60-65hp range. I imagine AMA or FIM would cap electric bikes via HP caps (since there's no displacement). interesting dilemma/issue. this bike definitely requires a new set of rules.
Need a different mapping or just don't wanna send the jump at 31:07 ? Looks like a fun step up. And that moron who tried running you high and taking himself out is ego trippin, #1 rule if your guna take someone out is dont take yourself out 😂 And #10 seemed fast but passed you pretty aggressively for an average track day. He has a motor, at least he can just rev it and you'll be able to hear it and move over safely. Also bless you and riders like you for looking out for the kids!🙏🏽
You have skill I can only dream of, fabulous rider to watch. I suck at dirt biking. But I ain't blind. #69 passed you the exact same way, in the exact same spot you did on him. Except you had way more grace and didn't dump it, and perhaps he didn't like e-bikes. But it really doesn't negate that your pass was identical. You squirted by on the inside and cut his front wheel going into the corner crossing to the outside leaving him with no real estate. For someone being so vocal about riders crossing paths on the track, you sure put out long videos that can be critiqued and you cross many lanes in your motos. Albeit safer because you are typically ahead of the pack and earned that lead, but if they can't hear you... then they too think they are leading in that moment. Amateurs are just that; amateurs. That's likely a large portion of your audience. You have acted like this in other videos too when kids get squirrely. AM's are gonna be squirrely, but they keep the industry running too, they keep tracks open. And be polite, you have an audience. That guy offering help, he's just a perfect stranger checking on you. The least you can do is say thanks, he may even be a subscriber. I can only imagine the frustration of having to ride alongside crap riders like myself, but you have all the skill, self awareness, and experience to read the track and riders compared to the avg. weekend warrior. This should help you avoid confrontations. Pick your spots better and you won't have to have runs-ins with aggressive am's. #69 was living his best life and you stuffed him. Then his ego got in the way. But don't let yours get in the way. Anyway, keep up the great riding and building your brand, but please don't forget, most of us dream to have your skill level but have no other place to ride. You were a grom or a squid at one point too. And crap riders like me will never improve much, but we still love the sport will be present everywhere you go.
That is actually very intresting, if one were to gear down (lower top speed) it would increase the range alot since you will pull less amps and would be able to have the same torque on a lower power level!
I race hare scrambles on a 300 2t with stock silencer. Im usually short shifting and using bottom end power around the track. You would'nt hear me coming up on you either..not everyone rides 4 strokes with loud ass pipes..ride at your skill level and let the person behond you make his pass safely.
i have no doubt that the varg can handle a supercross setting but i think stark's got some work to do to get the varg through a 30 min + 2 laps outdoor moto, especially on the mid-west and southeast tracks where a typical track day is over 100 degrees with 100% humidity ...........
Always thought the bike needs a horn of some type …….. I believe stark missed this its clearly very obvious of the potential danger …… shouldn’t be that difficult to add , a wise man will live to ride another day .

This imply various modifications (tuning the engine down, adding an headlight...), and some mechanical shops specialize in such transformations.
@@natmaka would need an CE-document from the manufacturer. And STARK will not provid that ATM.:-( EU regulation will stop this right now
Bike is Beautiful & looks Fast :), you should fit a Horn though as Shouting isnt going to go down well long term...
I had the same idea, it needs a horn to let people know you are behind them.
a Horn is far better & safer than shouting...
@bwhaskell i asked Stark why they haven’t put a sensor for the fan and there is there answer:
Thank you for contacting Stark.
The fan will turn on once the temperature of the powertrain reaches 45ºC. Below that temperature it should not turn on, if so please contact us.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with.
Maybe you should tell them that yours stays on. You may have more range then.
Overlay stays! Play with the placement. Thanks for the content !
#69 needs a bud light
I'm guessing his buddy is #420 as well.... 🤣
When will you try the hand rear brake?
Nice riding Bryan, I notice you do not crash very much, but you still ride pretty fast, I was the same in my riding days, I knew my limitations, and I rode right on that edge. I like the app overlay, it would be nice if the quality on it was a little better, it's kind of blurry.
Is it me or do the combustion engine bikes already seem to be old compared to this? Great video and information.
It's you.
good man for helping him
Driving with good music as well!
Almost need a bell till the other riders get used to the idea just because they don’t hear you doesn’t mean you aren’t there.
this never compare to a full gas tank... but i like the bike, nice video!
Yep... it is different niche with its own advantages/disadvantages. IMO they have fundamentally done a pretty great job.
The battery percentage fluctuation almost looks like it is trying to predict what your battery will be after a period of time or after a lap. It doesn't make sense that is fluctuates that much to indicate current battery charge.
Does the bike regenerate more battery level if you use more engine break? Or is that irrelevant?
He mentioned on previous videos that it's barely helps
@@NirHason great, bcz I normally run a 250 2T and don’t like engine break at all. But think this bike will be great when it gets more custom maps to chose from. Specially so I’ll don’t get to much bottom power, think that’s the issue with my Alta that it has to much bottom power
I like the overlay, very cool to see. When's the trail riding video coming?
Yea, with creek crossings!
The overlay is good. Keep it.
#69 is a total spode.
you can try the stark varg recuperates when driving downhill for a long time please;-)
Whats with the SOC all over? Are they using voltage to get state of charge. Seems a bit weird
How does it compare to a 450 riding at the end of the day, when track has dried out, braking bumps, hard pack? Less tiring? More?
And crap riders like me will never improve much, but we still love the sport will be present everywhere you go.
do you have any idea about the top speed on this bike? I know it doesn't matter but still just fun to know
Top speed depends on gearing. I think its currently geared for about 75mph dont quote me on that.
That is actually very intresting, if one were to gear down (lower top speed) it would increase the range alot since you will pull less amps and would be able to have the same torque on a lower power level!
can you change percentage to Wh? this would be a much better reference since percentage is quite literally relative
Was there an extra plug for headlights or turn signals?
The battery will not be enough for prorider at Gp heats
You need that handlebar rear brake setup
Auto like for checking on a downed rider regardless of age. 🏆👍
Can we see full power already?
Need a little horn to hoot when you want to notify other riders
What's the white bike called and how does it compare
great tunes also
Désolé je ne parle pas anglais mais saurais-tu me dire combien de temps la batterie tient avec ton roulage
I race hare scrambles on a 300 2t with stock silencer. Im usually short shifting and using bottom end power around the track. You would'nt hear me coming up on you either..not everyone rides 4 strokes with loud ass pipes..ride at your skill level and let the person behond you make his pass safely.
i have no doubt that the varg can handle a supercross setting but i think stark's got some work to do to get the varg through a 30 min + 2 laps outdoor moto, especially on the mid-west and southeast tracks where a typical track day is over 100 degrees with 100% humidity ...........
hey man you should get a horn for the bike. weird i know but its better than getting taken out / taking someone else out
They should do the battery % based on milliamps consumed, not voltage
Nice with overlay but strange that you cant see power level aswell.
Get rid of the noise and I might consider buying one
I finally figured out what sound these bikes have... Husquvarna... sewing machines.
possible de faire un dépars arrêter avec une 250 et une 450 cdt
well done taking care of tyhat kid - no need to comment on the rest really
haaahahaha Dr. D wasnt havin it bub.....
👌🥇
The dad had an aussie accent .
Yeah mate
I thought that too
You need to put a bell or a horn on that thing instead of yelling
Weird how mph is read off rear wheel so it's all over the place
Nice with the overlay.
But why do you always jump short at the stepup? I mean you jump the big doubles as well. Why always case the stepup?
You need to put a little motorcycle horn on that thing ! The " Hey ! " isn't going to cut it !. I mean how hard could it be ?
Always thought the bike needs a horn of some type …….. I believe stark missed this its clearly very obvious of the potential danger …… shouldn’t be that difficult to add , a wise man will live to ride another day .
Electric bike on a motocross track is obviously dangerous,I see you getting cross jumped on that thing.
Stay safe out there
Lol#69 is a goon. He clearly saw you around 9:15
Are you getting better lap times like for like compared with your gas bike?
Way faster electric
