We had something else planned for this weekend actually, but after seeing The Batman, creative juices took over and we made this song influenced heavily by the Riddler from the latest movie!

For some reason the ending line “City of Gotham, please don’t cry, this isn’t goodnight, this is only goodbye” seriously reminded me of when Riddler says “If I am justice, please don’t lie. What is the price of your blind eye?” in the movie.
Alright, let's do this.
It's suggested that the rap is directed at Batman, and Riddler says "you're the answer to my Riddle." That tells us that the answer to the riddle could be "Batman," and this would line up with the answer being a singular noun with two syllables.
However, we're also given hints about the answer that make it seem like it's not a person at all, but an abstract concept. "A vigilante could live off of it as if it were food," "believing you are the hero is what it tricks you into," "finish a job that the law didn't do," "It can be deadly as it festers, if you're letting it stew."
And yet, at other times, it's suggested that it is a person we're looking for: "it puts on a mask same as any criminal," "this mystery isn't a 'what,' it's a question of 'who.'"
We know it's not "justice," as the word appears in the rap, although we're told that it also has a connection to the person the rap is actually from the POV of: So Riddler himself, then.
The biggest clue is the first and last lines of the chorus: "What's making the knight so dark?" and "What's blinder than justice, rabid as a bat?"
I ask you, what singular noun with two syllables could you use as a name for Batman, but is also an abstract concept that fits all those qualifiers? Simple.
"I'm Vengeance."
Oh, nice, I wouldn't have figured that out myself. That makes this song, and by extension JT's interpretation of the Riddler even cooler than it already was.

What’s interesting about this one is if you listen to the certain parts of the song it’s hard to distinguish whether the rap is Riddler rapping about trying to figure out batman or Batman rapping about trying to figure out the Riddler.

Its RIddler talking to Gotham and trying to expose Batman for who he is through his riddles. It can be also Riddler talking to Batman himself... or Bruce for that matter. Riddler knows its easy to expose Bruce but where's the fun in that? so he'll let the gotham people figure out who Batman is.

I really like the line "What's blinder than justice, [a bat]." But while Justice is usually blind, and fits with the whole justice league, batman motif. Vengeance is also blind, and fits more directly with this movie in particular. i.e. Batman is blind vengeance and blind as a bat.
if batman is vengeance then he would be calling him blinder than himself which doesnt make much sense. it also wouldnt really make sense for one of the clues to straight up be the answer

but it feels far less satisfying than any other answer
I do think vengeance is the most fitting answer and, furthermore,
I think direct references to Batman, but the word vengeance, not showing up

But if the answer to the riddle is BOTH a who and a what? It all falls into place

I really like this rendition of the riddler... He's more dark and closer to the joker in the fact he attempts to attack corruption with... Well terrorisim. Plus he reminds me of jigsaw
Yeah, more of a V for Vendetta type vibe. This version of him is basically an anti-hero, but the end usually never justifies the means.
By far the most scary and effective version of the Riddler. And the worst part is you could even see him as almost a hero if it wasn't for the last part of his plan.
When I first saw his traps I immediately thought "I didn't know he was also Jigsaw"

Arguably the riddler would be incredible at rapping. Riddles often have a slight ruthenium and rhyme to them that could easily transfer.
This song matches The Riddler perfectly, he loves to paint batman as a villian and he loves to make some riddles painfully obvious directed towards him. And it feels like something he actually would say
“A dangerous intuition; which if you’re listening to: all of your rhyme and your reason will soon bid you adieu” that line is so underrated. It’s literally describing the feeling of vengeance
Man, this chorus is just killing me. It sticks with you for hours, it's just that catchy.
Not even kidding, this song is actually a banger, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of talent in this track: the lyrics, the internal rhyme, catchy chorus. Love it.

I'll be honest, coming into this I didn't think I'd enjoy the song given the subject. But damn if JT didn't knock it out again. They can make a banger out of just about anything at this point. Keep it up you musical maniacs.

Note: There is multiple instances where sayings and word placement are misplaced and wrong. Yet, if you take into account that this is a song about a ruthless puzzle master, it means there is a cipher within this song. And through some key or technique, it would say something.
The answer is most likely revenge or vengeance, probably the latter

Very well done. You manage to not only tell an effective story, but you grapple with the ethical morality of what Batman deals with compared with his villainous counterparts. Listening to your lyrics is not only pleasing, but it makes the listener's mind work at the same time.
