First video that actually explains this. Well done
Went with the 8" blade in the description and it works so awesomely. Thanks for the video. I really wanted a brush cutter without having to get something requiring gas and this setup has been fantastic.
Glad to be of service
Thanks for video, tried with 8" blade and kept on the string head and it worked flawlessly.
This is awesome! I went to Menards today and they really didn't have any answers for me. I will order one online tonight! I do all the trimming with my Milwaukee trimmer and this is going to help me get through the brush a lot better! Thank you!
Thanks so much!! You saved me. Was trying not to buy another weed eater with expensive attachments. Thanks again!
Glad to be of service
Performed this mod, but did not need to modify the M18 brush guard. For cutting back Wineberry this is ideal. Allows me to trim close to the plant base and avoid contact with the wineberry branches. Works perfectly for trimming spicebush plants as well.
For my application the centrifugal force of the spinning blade, after power is removed, is sufficient to get the job done. Anything larger than 1" will be cut with the M18 pole saw attachment.
awesome!
Need a vid of this in action before I make a purchase
love this. works great!
thanks
really good video!
I was thinking about doing this with my M18 and this video is very helpful! Obviously one would not want to go hog wild and attack superheavy brush with the wrong type of blade, but I think the motor ought to be able to handle most applications. Did anyone confirm that its a 10mm thread?
This is great!! Can anyone please tell me what blade adapter kit from Amazon works on the Milwaukee M19 Fuel Trimmer 2725-20?
instablaster.
Any idea on the bolt thread size and pitch. I tried using a Stihl LH thread the pitch was wrong. I love my trimmer and need to cut some brush.
Great weapon to kill zombies.
Half Life - Nobody Goes To Ravenholm. Awesome level throwing saw blades.
This is a great tutorial 4thewin, thank you! One question, any idea what size bolt is used for the shaft? I ask because I'm trying to locate a blade adapter kit on amazon instead of using the trimmer head to hold the blade onto the shaft. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
rise4peace I’m not 100 % confident but Im about pretty sure the arbor is 10mm.
Any updates on this? Did you end up finding an adapter kit that works?
did it have 8" blade?.. so i can use with the cover?
I have a DeWalt string trimmer. I removed the string trimmer head in order to put on a saw blade, but the saw blade hole is way bigger than the string trimmer threaded shaft. What do I need to be able to put a saw blade on it?
A washer or a different blade
Those carbide teeth can fly off and at 10,000rpm they will go up to 500mph.... Careful.
high risk.

Hey 4. Thanks for the vid. Would you consider doing a video using an adapter? I would love to do this wo re-using the bulky line trimmer head. Thanks!
What about the Makita? I'm not looking at buying other brands
Helpful and well done video. It really helped me. Uuuuh... The only detraction is your constant "Uuuuh's". I used to do the same thing and overcame that speech tendency.
thanks for the tip
Thank you! I have really enjoyed watching your videos, very detailed and thorough. I have a question, I noticed you did a review on the Dewalt Trimmer 972. Do you know if you can install a brush cutter on that string trimmer like you did on the Milwaukee M18? I spent hours researching trimmers and I bought an Ego ST1511 only to find out that you can't use a brush cutter with that trimmer. That was the main reason I am buying a string trimmer. I guess you could add brush cutter in the older models but they have changed the shaft and even with various kits, it won't work. So I'm going to return the Ego and buy the Dewalt and I'm pretty sure it will work but just trying to be sure. There is so little information out there on compatibility of string trimmer models with brush blades. Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!
Ouch
Helpful..thank u!
Thanks so much for the tutorial. Milwaukee makes an attachment now however, this is more cost effective to remove the guard and add this type of blade.
not sure how easy it is to find a left hand nut at a normal hardware store
The mic blade adapter fits but the nut does not What size is the nut and where can I get one? IF anyone can get the size and pitch for one that would probably help most of the viewers, the Milwaukee M18 is an animal all its own, stihl parts dont fit.
Hot damn. Never thought of using the head over to secure the blade. Live in a small rural town no one carries left handed N10 x 125 nuts. Good Idea!
Haha yeah!
Thanks brother, you're video answered a lot of questions. I appreciate your time, and dedication of giving minute detail.
Thanks a million.
Glad it was helpful!
I never put that guard on in the 1st place....and same for the mid grab handle. I use this like a pencil LOL
This Milwaukee product is neither designed to accept or rated to spin a saw blade. The forces you subject to this large spinning disk could compromise the pole drive mechanism leading to severe injury or death. You need to buy a purpose-driven brush cutter, a Stihl 460 or 560. You don't even have a guard on it. Please reconsider this deviation from the intended purpose. Milwaukee specifically warns against using anything but its rated attachments.
Sue him LOL it’s his own piece of machinery in his own yard. Leave him be
@@proz71ful19 How DAre YoU challenge the Nanny State Rep!
How exactly would this lead to injury? If the drive mechanism fails, it would just stop spinning no?
@@davidpower1843 The injury would be mostly emotional apparently, when things just dont fit into a nice neat box....
news flash. milwaukee just released a brush cutter quick lock attachment sucker.
