    Man did you get lucky that the blade fit over that one in flames. I tried to use a Tanaka no-brainer head on my 2825. Technically, it was secured in place. But it pretty much free spun because of the Flames. It was never turned by the shaft. However, the craftsman hassle-free three head, which is similar, should work. A guy on RUclips shows how he installed it with no problem on his Milwaukee 2825 or perhaps 2725 string trimmer.

    Looks like it's been a year since you posted this video. Can you give us an update? How often do you use the line trimmer with the blade attached? And, has it caused any damage to the trimmer?
    I have a Milwaukee line trimmer, and I'd like to use a blade on it now and then for cutting briar patches that are a little too thick for the heavy cutting line to handle. However, I'm afraid the extra torque required to run the blade will over-stress the drive system. I don't want to damage my expensive new trimmer.
    Any feedback you can give would be appreciated.

    • @kimkleiner8456
      @kimkleiner8456 6 месяцев назад

      @@warrendomask1565half the width of the blade minus half the width of the bushing that holds the blade on providing that you keep your blade sharp. You also have to figure what direction the brush is likely to fall towards and cut it from opposite side or it might pinch. You don't use the trimmer like you use the line variety for thicker brush. You put pressure on blade to cut it just like you might with a pole saw. Mine had noticeable gyroscopic forces that felt like it wanted to twist the unit. I had handlebar type grip and i really appreciated that mine also had a sturdy harness so the weight was on my shoulders but mostly my hips. And remember, works best really sharp but you're using it really close to ground with dirt, stones and sometimes metal to run that blade into and teeth don't llike that a lor.😊

    I think Milwaukee put in a sensor or system to detect these brush cutter blades. My brand new M18 String Trimmer with Quik-Lok refuses to use these blade (2825-20 head with 49-16-2717 string trimmer attachment). It will partly spin up then cut power to itself. Tried multiple HO batteries, M18 High Output 8amp and 6amp batteries. Tried reinstalling the blade. Every time the trimmer will just partly spin up, doesn't even get to full speed, then cut power to itself. I can keep pressing the trigger and this just repeats. Guess I will have to buy their official $150 brush cutter attachment instead, it's supposed to be geared differently.

    • @MJAltairy
      @MJAltairy  2 года назад +2

      Make sure the blade is secure to the stud/bolt. If the machine senses “free-spin” it kills itself pretty much. With my blade, sometimes i give the trigger a couple pulls to engage the spin then on the 3rd-4th trigger pull, it stays on. Kinda shady feeling but it’s done the job haha
