That's a great collection. I'm an axe addicted heathen myself. We grew up using axes before we were old enough to run chainsaws and never quit. I still remember taking down old growth oaks down along side of the river in the 70s when we were in 7th grade to build a giant raft. Unfortunately it's rare to see trees that big anymore. Later that summer we had a flood and our raft washed miles down the river and got lodged on a big wood and steel bridge.
It was so big our neighbor couldn't budge it with his dozer and eventually had to cut it apart in order to remove it. We were standing on the bridge watching him and he came up a asked us if we knew anything about it. We just looked at each other and smiled and he said I thought so and went on his grumpy way. 😆
Speaking of axes a little over 20 years ago I'd got pissed off and quit my job and ended up pawning my saws to pay the bills. Winter came and I had no saws or any money to buy another and ended up having to cut firewood to heat a big two story farm house with just an axe for a couple months. It gives you a little insight on what it was like in the old days and a lot of respect for our forefathers. And what it might end up being like in a few months with the way things are going. It'll be funny if the trolls end up having to actually use their vast axe knowledge to keep their ass warm. They won't have time to be on RUclips in the comment section giving advice about things they know nothing about. LOL
I really like your big Viking style axes. Unfortunately last time I checked Cold Steel had stopped making them. :(
I've got a big Prandi axe that looks like one, it's one of my favorites. It's a friction fit head like a tomahawk but it's an actual working axe and it's far too heavy for a Viking Dane axe unless your strong like Thor. It would make a great executioners axe though. 😳
I've got several of Cold Steels axes myself, mostly their tomahawks and a few of their Viking influenced ones. They are great project axes and I've spent way more time modifying them than I probably should have but there's worse ways to spend ones time.
I enjoyed your video and seeing your axe collection! I like all sharp and pointy things but I'll vote for a video of your machetes. I collect those as well. A few of my favorites are Cold Steels Gladius, Chinese War Sword and the All Terrain Chopper. None of these are all that practical for machete work but they are cool nevertheless and good for zombies.😊

I’ve always carried an axe in my vehicles. When I lived In western North Carolina, I can’t count the times I came up on some cars behind a fallen tree in the road, where some dude was trying to start his chainsaw. I just got the axe and most times got the tree cut down enough for everyone to pull it out of the road.
      Great times.

Dam you have a bunch of Hawks/Axes that's cool I lack those types of blades but I'm slowly working on it. Love the Miami comment I lived down there for a few years going to school. Awesome hawk collection Scab, they were definatly designed to be a good all around tool that could do it all. From taking care of wood, Breaching, skinning game, self defense and war, building tools and everything inbetween. Yes there are axes better suited to specific tasks (I live up north and hear it all the time) but as an all around survival tool they are fast, great and a ton of fun. Great collection, thanks for showing it off! I'm going to throw my vote in for folding knives next time around, as I imagine the fixed blade segment would be a multi-part series.
I'm getting back into axes big time lately. I'm more into hawks than the bigger axes. I've got the Cold Steel Spike Hawk and Frontier Hawk, great hawks. The learning curve on throwing them isn't too shabby, either. My favorite of theirs is the Axe Gang, which is my go-to camp axe and an easy thrower. Liked it so much I bought two. Gonna keep an eye out for a good deal on the CRKT hawks, maybe the Kangee or Nobo.

    Love me some tomahawks!
    👍🏼👍🏼
I still have my first tomahawk I boudin 1987. Hand forged, looks like the CS Norse Hawk.
Really like my CRKT Kangee, had the Woods Kangee but it was just too heavy.
My favorite is one that I modified…. I put the head of a SOG Mini Voodoo Hawk on the longer Tactical handle. Had to work it in there, but man , that extra length on the handle makes a world of difference.
The regular SOG Voodoo Hawk makes an excellent hatchet too.

@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors Oh no he did receive crap and I know he was forced out and the AD wanted the hot new flavor as OC in leave in the night Riley, and that mistake was heavily paid for in the leaving of coach, recruits, and players that has led to this year. Notice Bob Stoops filled in for the bowl game and made sure he got them to hire an OU loyalist to come and take the job. OU did Josh wrong and paid for it. Oh and I have always believed Bob retiring right before two a days was him being told let Baker avoid punishment for getting caught in AR drunk driving and being stupid pulling the do you know who I am card. Bob had a history of either benching players (Adrian Peterson missing classes) or throwing em off the team Rhett Bomar (starting qb) taking money for not working at a summer job, and for drunkenness Dusty Dvorchak an all American defensive end. I do believe the way Riley did em they learned a lesson and the fans calling for Brent Venables heads? Idgets who don't realize we have to fix a bad decision in Riley and pay for it, look at USC best players all from OU and that is BOTH southern cal and Scouth Carolina......

The Trail Hawk, my favorite carry in the woods... light bushcraft and firewood processing. $35 on Amazon...I can featherstick with it, throw it, tent stakes, carry just the head and make a handle with sticks I find, strike a ferro rod, crack walnuts/ acorns, delimb... etc I have Hults Bruks, Wetterlings and Gransfors Bruks axes and hatchets. .still have a soft spot for my Trail Hawk. :) Also, I have a Hanwei Katana. It's a mean cutter! Give me a thumbs up if you want to do a video with it. I'll ship it to you! :))
Oh yeah, ask me about my $20 Marbles hatchet for a long story. Your Scab, I'm not. We gone Son!

I think I rewatch this video every couple of weeks. Chicago Knifeworks has some CS stuff at good prices, so I put down an order a second frontier hawk, norse hawk, and finally got their trail hawk and their bearded viking axe. Gotta stop watching this video, I get an itch to spend money on steel everytime I do!

I beg to differ that the Spikehawk (or any Cold Steel hawk) isn't capable of hard use. I gifted my brother a Spikehawk many years ago and in his tree removal business he has beaten the holy hell out of that tomahawk. One day I need to show some pictures of that beast!
It looks like death warmed over.

I use mine hard all the time. My point with it is no matter what I say it's going to be the opposite LOL... I beat the ever living dog s*** out of mine but I like covering my bases
