I always love your content, but this was so interesting since I felt as if I was getting into your thought processes on dressing 🙂 I've read all the comments on this video and would also appreciate advice on t-shirts (brands, any other info you think would be helpful). Loved your comment on wearing Theory during your accounting days... I can totally relate as I work in banking and the brand I first aspired to for minimal but quality work clothing was definitely Theory ❤
could you please do a video of what other, more affordable, brands compare to the Row? I mean, The Row is very expensive, at $800 and over per a shirt and over $1k for trousers....

@@NeelamAhooja although you wouldn't see it on the first note, but I love timeless pieces (according to my budget) but I also love adding some pops of something ( can be a scarf, a hat or piece of jewelry for example LaManso, FryPowers or whatever speaks to me)
It's a mix let's leaf at that 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
To go back to timeless, and versatility bc that's also very important to have a minimal wardrobe, I find, even if I had the budget I wouldn't go buy 100 different things just not in me.
And if you take a Carolyn Bessette and see all her looks in pictures and placed them next to each other see was a serious outfit repeater! And that's what I see in your take too , a piece, a look you feel totally & otherly yourself in

I truly appreciate all your insights and how you explain your reasons in liking or loving each piece that you have. I think, like you, I’m usually conscious on how I feel or would like to feel when wearing something so comfort is number one, followed by other considerations. Btw, do you mind sharing the brand of your flat black mules shown on the photo wearing your The Row jeans please? I’ve been looking for something like that for a few years now. Do you mean the mules with the blue vintage Levi’s where I’m looking down? They’re The Row Granpa slippers (old style). They’re coming out with a new mule this spring - I’ll review them.
I watched the video again and yes, you’re right. It’s when you were looking down and wearing the vintage blue jeans. “The Row grandpa slippers” as you mentioned on your reply is what you were wearing. For the sisea, I’ve seen listed as 100% cotton and a mix of cotton/spandex (amounts weren’t listed). The price difference was around $200. Do you have any thoughts on the fabric? And do you recommend true to size? As I’m 5’4 and their items can run large I sometimes go down a size.

I’m taller so I have issues with inseams and I see they don’t post those online. Are they all long to start? And everything needs to be hemmed?🤔 I recently picked up my first item, The Park Tote Three EW and was really impressed so looking at other items as well now.🌻

I have the Bariem as well and I prefer them to the Gala. They do serve the same purpose so save your money for a different style.

What you mentioned @12:02, the high waisted pants sitting too high on your torso... That's a big annoyance for a lot of women. I'm surprised The Row doesn't offer high waisted pants that work around this issue, bc both Mary Kate & Ashley are very small. I've seen them in person, and I believe them both to be around 4'9" - 5'0" (despite what's documented), so I'm sure they, too, have experienced similar issues. The Row could easily work out a high waisted fit aimed not just at size but also stature. Say you could find high waisted pants in size-- 12 Large/Short Waist, or 6 Medium/X Short Waist, like how Levis offer height options along with your size.
Yes that would be nice but for now I just opt for low waisted items. They have a number of styles that work.
Thank you for this. I have recently bought the Riaco jeans in black. I am quite petite (your size’ish). I have the US size 2 and 4. The 4 is on the loose side, the 2 fits neatly. Should I keep both? Will they shrink in the wash or stretch with wear? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much, I love all of your videos
I talk about shrinkage in my next video which will drop this weekend. It’s dedicated to jeans. I suggest dry clean only and go with the size you feel best in - they will stretch a little with wear and if you throw them in the washer and dryer, they will definitely shrink as they’re cotton.

Hello from a fellow Canadian! I have watched a few of your videos and love your style, hair, gorgeous! A few questions pop to mind though. You had mentioned you are petite, with a longer torso and shorter legs, so out of curiosity, why do you believe a higher waist pant doesn't suit you? Wouldn't a low waist pant make your torso appear even longer and your legs even shorter? IMO I think you'd look fabulous in high waist wide leg pants! :)
Second, regarding your mention of easy piling of The Row knits - I was always under the impression that lower quality wool or cashmere would cause quicker/easier piling; something to do with the length of the fiber (?). So again curious how that relates to the quality and price point of the brand.
Finally, I wanted to ask what your opinion is on Toteme. To me, the aesthetic is very similar. I own several Toteme pieces but none of The Row and I find the quality and versatility to be great at a lower price point.

I’m not sure why but it just is - I have friends who have long legs and shorter torsos and they all love higher waists and it suits them and they can’t wear low rise but for me, it’s perfect. I find all my cashmere low or high, pills. The difference is the higher quality is softer and doesn’t irritate my skin. And re Toteme - I like it but the material feels stiffer and it doesn’t fall on the body the same way TR does. That accounts for the difference in price as well. Toteme makes some good things though! I’ve considered a coat here and there.

I don’t own many of them - oddly enough as that’s how they started. They do some nice cottons. I love the Sherman long sleeve because it’s not too thick.
Ahhh oke. Can you maybe recommend some good t shirts from other brands? Especially black ones? I just turned 40 and I’m slowly changing my wardrobe. I only want to buy good quality timeless pieces and I just started to pick up pieces from the row because of you! Thank you for that ❤

Since we’re both vertically challenged, do you take your proportions into consideration; ie: always tuck without looking like a bag lady, help!
When I do a full tuck I look shorter somehow. I do a half tuck and have the back hanging out usually. Unless it’s an oversized shirt that can billow out at the back.
