- Today I finally did something I've wanted to do for a very long time... I got a stand up paddle board (SUP). Actually I decided to get a Body Glove hybrid kayak SUP. I also bought a PFD from MEC and some other items to show you. Enjoy!

Great to see you taking up something just for you, JoAnna. My daughter paddle boarded off Burlington beach, mostly after dinner with a friend. Two safety things they do is get glow sticks from dollar stores to wear if it is near dusk. When they are coming back from paddle.
They also leave a battery lite latern on beach to guide them back, only had to use once or twice to navigate back to where their things are on beach. They wear wetsuits in early spring and late fall. Safety first!
I think that would be so fun!!
I got a paddle board last year I am not good at it but I ended up sitting down on it and talking my 3 kids on it with me. It was so fun and the kids loved it.
I love paddle boarding, it’s so relaxing. Definitely keep the life jacket on all the time though. Would love to see more of the journey!

I've never done paddleboarding/Kayaking. but I am interested. My daughter went on a SUP when she was about 8 (sitting with an adult who did the paddling.) she loved it then. Please share more info. metro detroit and we just moved to a place on the lake.

I kayak. I have a used 12 ft and love it.
I have the same SUP but not the kayak version. The best purchase I ever made was an electric pump that plugs into the car lighter. It pumps it automatically with no effort...but I don't have space to store mine inflated. The Halton women's group does sunrise paddles and other meet-ups. (I'm also an introvert and have never actually been. ;) )
