Attack on titan was the only anime that i put between my favorites shows for a while, vinland was the second one. But was mostly for the second season. Great writing, deep story

The journey there is not only perilous but also exceedingly costly, making it accessible only to intrepid explorers like Leif Erikson, who is widely regarded as the first European to reach North America. Evidence of his voyage is compelling; in various depictions, he is shown smoking tobacco and adorned with elaborate headdresses fashioned from vibrant bird feathers. Such items were entirely unknown and nonexistent in Europe during that era.

Vinland Saga is good but pretty overrated. It tries to shove its themes down your throat in a really obvious and juvenile and tearjerker kinda way. Also lots of shallow episodes. It definitely can't compare to Berserk (AoT can't either though).
Worst take i’ve seen in a long time, and I’m a huge fan of Berserk and AOT
@@Kattytatty02 I was pretty much rolling my eyes at the Arnheid and Gardar scenes and Canute's talk no jutsu. There's just no subtlety in the second half of S2. Most of S1 is also boring, the only exceptions being a few episodes focusing on Askeladd at the end. I say that as someone who isn't at all a fan of AoT which has its own problems.
I agree. S1 was terrible. Thorfinn is one dimensional and has 0 character development in 20 episodes (compare that to Berserk where Guts changed and things affected him a couple of times in the same number of episodes). Canute is a complete opposite. The guy went from 0 to 100 in just one episode. It's nonsense writing.
And then the second season came. The glorified second season...
Where should I start? Maybe from the fact that it was boring? That Thorfinn for a dozen of episode is still one dimensional, but from one extreme to another extreme. His philosophy makes no sense and the only reason he is alive is because he has a plot armor and is op. The guy said something like he had no good things happen to him, which is spitting in the faces of his mother and sister he neglected for almost 2 decades. The guy could have left the farm at any time and be with his family, but he didn't care. And OMG. He literally made Canute to go 180 by saying "I will run away." Canute poisoned his brother for his goals and some guy he knew from a couple of years ago told him he will run away and that made him just abandon all of what he planned to do.
Overrated trash.

@@Kattytatty02 I probably won't watch S3. I was tricked into watching that trash by people like you who overrated it. And after I complained about S1, people like you told me to watch S2, because it is much better.
It's still trash, but boring and nonsensical trash.
