I don't even remember any of the new shows you have listed for NBC except for vaguely remembering hearing of The Monster Squad - and even then only because of the vastly superior (and, afaik, unrelated) movie of the same name from the late 1980s. Other than Tarzan (which I loved and never willingly missed), Ark II, and Land of the Lost (which as definitely past its prime when it came to its scripts), I can't remember what I was even watching that year on Saturday mornings now, but I'm pretty sure I spent the whole morning watching shows anyway.
To my shame, my first exposure to Tarzan was the Filmation cartoon, which I don't really regret since it's an action adventure series first and last. It wasn't until reruns on the USA Network's Cartoon Express block that I had seen Dynomutt and Clue Club, both of which I had thoroughly enjoyed....Heck, I managed to acquire Clue Club the complete series on digital years later along with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids and Jabberjaw. I had never seen Monster Squad, but from the intro I had seen on RUclips, the series looks very interesting.
I turned 11 in 1976, so yeah I remember a lot of these shows, although there's still a few I have no memory of. I must have been watching a different channel. The Monster Squad was notable as an early appearance of Fred Grandy before he ended up on The Love Boat, and later in Congress. Tarzan was great, even if the stories weren't quite as good as ERB's, and the animation was heavily reused.
I guess there wasn't much to choose from. I recently watched Jabba Jaw for the first time since when I was a kid and I can't say I enjoyed it much. Yes true it was a Josie and the Pussy cats clone. With an Alexandra and a Melody instead of a Daphne and or Velma type. I found the music in it like elevator music, instead of the catchy tunes that were on Josie and I got tired of all the "aqua" puns for the place names. A lot of the monsters did look like Alex Toth's monsters from the 60s adventure tunes, but I didn't feel they tonally fitted in here.
Aw 1976, The Bicentennial, The Year Carter was elected, The Year of Rocky and yours Truly, And of course we got some really cool coins to commemorate The Bicentennial.
I didn’t see any of those either. I was too busy running away from girls who were chasing me! 😁 And yeah I'm lying like a rug. I totally watched many of these shows... and I was 20 that year! 😊A girl magnet I most definitely never was. 🥺 Fortunately for my peace of mind, I also never cared. I was and still am a total nerd.
❤ yes I was a kid too and I was probably on the same couch as you Tarzan and some of the live action shows Electra woman and Dyna girl and Isis and Shazam I used to watch them all the time art to and later on other shows I don't know about that Mr Jaws that was pretty bad. We're really bad especially the kids from Caper and Mugsy
I preferred the old school cartoons (Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, Pink Panther). The only new ones l cared for back then were Misterjaw, Dynomutt & Mumbly.
Dude, stop recording and go fix whatever craziness is happening in your background! Not saying it wasn't mildly amusing......that would've been me in the background not too long ago 🤦♂️😂
You forgot to mention that since it was the Bicentennial, it made sense for ABC to America make their third Schoolhouse Rock segment America Rock. With classic like I'm just a Bill, Elbow Room and No More Kings. Plus who couldn't recite the Preamble without watching it.

I wonder if the name captain kool and the komgs was inspired by the mini series captains and the kings.
