Started in 2008, thanks to the joint efforts of China and Egypt, the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone now has five major industrial parks in various fields of manufacturing: petroleum industry equipment, high and low-voltage electrical appliances, textiles and garments, new construction materials and farm machinery.
The Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is now the best industrial park in Egypt in terms of all-round environment, investment density, and per unit output. In short, it's become an economic engine in the heart of Egypt's desert.

Well done! These projects have beneficial effects on other industries as well. There is a multiplier effect. More of these projects across Africa will certainly increase the purchasing power and well-being of Africans in the medium to long term.
Do not overlook this "together for a shared future". If a country is willing to share future with you it must put your interest in the same basket of itself.
The policy isn't a gimmick but actually the Chinese culture. Being the most populous nation in the world their ancestors have taught the Chinese people the only way to survive 22% world population with just 7% world arable land is to stick together, sacrifice the self interest for a better community, share whatever they got and work hard.
This Chinese culture is having an impact on the low income nations of the world. This is just a gradual development. Together for a shared future has enabled China to extricate poverty internally. If other nations believe in it China will be helping them using the same formula.
