Hey chewy I really appreciate your content. Your videos have helped me through my jiu-jitsu career including coaching , training and personal mentality. I appreciate what you’re doing.
I was a deer in headlights in my first comp so for the second one i decided to not focus on my opponent but just keep my sh!t together and play my game. Instant success!
Just read your email. It reminded me of a saying I was taught as a teenage girl, "It's not what a man drives, but what drives a man." I wish more people were able to understand that.
I competed for IBJJF a couple of months ago and got three Gold and one Bronze at Gi/NoGi Heavyweight and Open Weight for both... I used to have that same issue, but when I came back from my ACL surgery I just came back willing to put my pride aside and show up to learn. Winning, getting recognition and a medal and post photos all over your social media, that's all a byproduct of what comes first in Jiu-Jitsu, ans that's to have fun, and learn. 🙏
Great video! I am brand-new blue belt who finds myself in the super-heavy divisions (240ish lbs). Any tips on competing and avoiding injury in that weight category?
Talks about high standards with everything he does in life and then gives us a video from inside his jalopy...... Just kidding, love your stuff every time.....all the time.
Man me they always say I'm going hard, I only use strength when needed not all the time and now it's like they are jealous of me because I'm improving. Coach says we should live google shit and try improve what we were thought . It's fuckin stressing me because I'm not evening going hard can u maybe advice and differentiate hard and light in BJJ and mma
I love training.. but I just got my Brown Belt after 15 years of Jiu Jitsu, MMA and MT. But I'm a shit grappler. I'm old and small but I should be better. I know better. I could write a book on defence, but never turn the tables enough to dominate.
@ Well, that’s impressive that you picked up on the whole concept of the book just out of your own personal life experience! Best of luck at nogi worlds!!

Chewy is amazing in RL! Chester did my team a favor at one of his comps! We could not ask for a better ambassador for the sport.

For me a good metric is if I’m breathing hard or through my mouth.

LOOSING WEIGHT'S EASY?????
Yeah. You just eat a consistent diet and then just eat less. Maybe not easy for some. But it's simple.
Someone read “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck”
Haven't read it yet. Heard it's a great book.
