Sorry I could not complete this but I prefer to show reapirs irrespective if they work out. I think it is misleading to imply people can just get faulty stuff and fix it without risk! This was purchased for £8 with my funds that are set asside for getting faulty items for the channel - I would not risk buying without seeing (or at least comprehensice detail) if I really wanted a fixable/working device for my own use.
i actually have a st-s7 doing the same thing while not a repair i removed the red light filter off the front cover it makes the display at least usable
I should really get it back on the bench and come up with a mod, but at the moment I'm struggling to mend my coffee machine, and that is far more important
