Peace Songs - Sri Chinmoy

This is a collection of seven songs by Sri Chinmoy on the theme of peace. The first three peace songs were recorded in 1995 during a live Peace Concert in honour of the United Nation's 50th Anniversary. The next three peace songs are in Bengali and from the album "Peace Blossoms". Shanti is a sanskrit word which means peace. The final track is Sri Chinmoy chanting 'Shanti.'

Sri Chinmoy is a spiritual Master who dedicated his life to serving aspiring mankind. Through his meditations, writings, music, art and sports, he showed that the highest spirituality could be brought into every aspect of human life.
Sri Chinmoy saw music as the universal language of the heart, dissolving barriers of race, language and culture. "It is through music," he said, "that the universal feeling of oneness can be achieved in the twinkling of an eye." Sri Chinmoy was an accomplished musician and prolific composer. During his lifetime he offered over 700 Peace Concerts around the world.
