They have an incline farmer carry machine at my gym. Basically a farmer carry going uphill. Normally i can farmer carry two 45 pound plates for about 4 minutes. I can do 80 secs on this machine before i have to relinquish the weight. Its great. Feels like my whole body activates.
I have a tinnitus on my right ear, I did farmer's walk first time yesterday, just to see how it feels. Right after I did that my tinnitus got better for some reason. Probably my tinnitus related to an issue with my neck muscles.
Shrugs will isolate the traps more, but the farmers walk will engage them a good bit. Farmers walks offer many more benefits than shrugs making them superior imo.
If you want some big ass traps do some proper form rack pulls, farmer walk is a compound exercise that has many benefits, but it truly is a compound mouvement so it doesn't isolate any muscle in particular. Do both, you can do some farmer walking every other day but totally separated from your program, three or four set of a given distance in the morning if you do your program in the evening or vice versa. Avoid it on legs and back day tho. I'm currently incorporating them on wednesday as it is my accessory day (neck/abs) and it missed a solid compound movement and on monday (chest/triceps) but apart from my program. Finally I'll do them on saturday which is normally a rest day but as a single exercise. I'm doing it heavy on wednesday, and with a moderate weight on every other day I listed.
@@xelementzgaming7171 That would probably be too much, if you're doing a PPL or a brosplit that would be ok, under conditions, but a FB or HB would probably be too much and it wouldn't be half as interesting in terms of overall gains.
@@xelementzgaming7171imo don't ask anybody else. It will only make you confused. Instead do what you are doing and stick with it for a while. After some time, by looking at the results, if you think the current program is not the best then change it or adjust it a bit.

I have bilateral tinnitus I’m trying this asap
Congratulations! I love farmers, so healing for shoulders as well
Pushups and farmer's carry tire me out faster than other workouts, meaning if I keep at it, I'll be one fit human being? I'm still experimenting.
What is the duration of the carry? My guess, as an initiate, is to start with a minute or two?
Zercher is better IMO. In addition, asymmetric farmer walk is much more preferable...
Can I do these instead of shrugs?? Or will shrugs grow my traps more??😊

@@lecobra418 what if I’m running a FULL BODY routine every other day…

How many times per week is most beneficial? I’m doing it 4 to 5. Is that too much?
4 days/week is plenty
@@FitBlueprint thanks Mate
Is It weird that I dedicate 8 minutes in my workout to the farmers walk?
