Thank you for this tutorial, Carlos. I definitely learnt it's easier for me to distribute the stitches the way you did it. 💕

This is great. The bamboo needles look like they give much better control than the metal needles. You're a great teacher, Carlos. Now I need to see the next step, up close. Socks is what I want to do so I'll try doing what you did here and get some sox started. So scary.

Thank you Carlos! I think by using the larger needles you used makes it easy for practicing. It can be really intimidating when watching someone use dpn's lol. It made me happy when I finally achieved this way of knitting. :)

Thnx! Just tried to cast on my 1st Juleball
I’ve never knitted in the round with DPN’s before but thought I just give it a go. How hard can it be right
Wel I kept twisting the needles and managed to knit one needle back and forth
Thnx for this video and your tip on your advent calendar (2022)
With that tip in mind I came quite far. Just needed the visual support.
I will give it another go!!

With thin yarn, I typically knit flat a few rows. This gives the fabric a bit of structure. Then, distribute over 4 dpns and knit in the round. You'll have to stitch closed the first few rows, but this is so much easier for me. Likewise, if I have a lot of stitches (>100), but need to knit in the round, I knit flat a couple rows before joining into round. This way, you can avoid the dreaded twisted stitches. Happy Knitting!

You can slow down the video yourself, just click on the settings (the wheel you see in the bottom right of the screen when you are playing a video) and you can adjust the speed.
