Thanks for this video!!! My x5 has been soaked every time it rains but luckily I didn’t have to remove the side panel and the air compressor worked like a charm !
All sunroof bimmers have this issue. The key is NOT to wait til u NEED to do this. Add it to ur preventative maintenance if u wanna sleep easier. My 318ti flooded like a mofo. So I know all about this lol. Good video bro.
Rear drains end within the rear bumper unfortunately. You should dismantle the rear section of the headliner anda take out the hoses. Then clean them with air or pressurized water.
don't use the blow gun at the sunroof holes unless you wanna end up having to remove the headliner. you WILL blow the hose straight off the fitting as it it is only a friction fit (and a fairly loose one too). instead use a long roll of that green weed Wacker cable as a drain snake. if the hose does pop off it will saturate the headliner with water AND your floor so best to avoid that.
Probably not. Your doors water vapor barrier (inside the door) has probably gone bad. There are videos that show you how to fix that. As a precaution you can drill small holes from under car to drain the water- being careful not to damage anything.
This was the best video to show how to do the drains!! Thank you for showing us where the two hoses connect and how to access and clean.

Thanks guy! Helped me out exponentially!! 😁👍🏼🏆🍀
I used a plastic drinking straw to blow out the dirt.
Great video but How do you do the rear drains?

Hei. Where are back sunroof drain pipes going out?

You have saved me a lot of headache
Could this be the same cause of driver side carpet (only) wet?
Thanks a lot! 👍😁
My front drain had a big nasty spider living in there
Cool video question the 328i have drain ?
Is there a similar pipe on an x5 without a sunroof ? Had a similar issue with the passenger carpets
if so where on roof is the outlet
Probably not.

Also there are drain plugs where leafs clog under the wipers. Lift the hood and clean.
Will the carpets still get wet with the sunroof closed?
Yeah doesn’t matter if it is closed; when it rain water seaps through the gaps in the sunroof drain holes
This is BMW failure and they shu'd Recall all their cars to fix this mess. Shambles why we owners have to fix this? This is factory failure
