I don’t preorder anything anymore. If I can’t casually walk in a store or easily look it up online then I’m out. I’m getting to old to fight with people irl or online
That's fair, but I think it's still pretty easy to tell if a game is going to be good. I see way too many people get hyped about a game when it looks terrible. I think many people are not able to evaluate gameplay and cinematic trailers properly. I've pre-ordered about a dozen games in my life and every one has excellent reviews like Elden Ring, Metaphor ReFantazio, Tears of the Kingdom, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed 2, Dishonored, The Witcher 3, Persona 5, Shin Megami Tensei V, Fire Emblem Awakening, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West
Same, I per order a digital download game on nintendo Switch and paid in advance. On the day of release, the game had a further discount lower than the per order price.
If you have a Gamestop store in your area, you can go there and pre order when the pre orders are ready. This is what I do. I also don't like trying to get anything online it does get difficult especially if it is a mad rush like the switch 2 will be. I just keep watching and listening for the pre orders to start. I have a feeling Nintendo will announce the pre orders on April 2nd. Just in case, I will be taking that day off and hanging out in my local Gamestop's parking lot. If Nintendo announces the pre orders will start on April 2nd. I will be at Gamestop ready to secure mine. Also, In store(Gamestop)you don't have to pay the full price. Probably will only need $100 to secure your pre order and pay the rest when you come to pick it up. This is how I have purchased all of my game consoles in the past. Yes online, you have to pay the full price to pre order and deal with the buy bots of the scalpers. I do not and I don't buy from scalpers. I let the fools do that who don't think about what they are doing. More will come back in stock at the retail price unless it's a one-time release like the PS 5 Pro 30th Anniversary bundle. No, I did not buy it. Way too much money. I did get the PS 5 Portal. It was easy to pre order at that time. Mostly everybody was trying to get the PS 5 Pro bundle. While everbody was focused on that, I sled right in and got the Anniversary Portal, the green Metallic Dual sense controller, 30th Anniversary Dual sense controller and the Dual sense edge Anniversary controller. This was my easiest clean sweep online pre ordering thanks to the PS 5 Pro. I happily got everything I wanted except for the PS 5 Pro. It's too expensive for what was offered with it.
Everyone is expecting $399 why? Cuz $499 is too expensive, thats PS5 territory. $299? Way too low... It would make the Switch 2 seem like a linear upgrade if it was the same price. Plus inflation..... It has to be a noticeably premium price to signal to the consumers Switch 2 is noticeably premium product over Switch 1.
My thing is, if it’s going to be over $300+, the S2 needs a full functional software upgrade, ie; web browsing, stem deck type capabilities. But I think I’m asking for too much 🙃
@@senseikevz2865 compared to the OG switch it is. For people most consumers who think a Steam Deck has something to do with laundry it will be "premium".
Actually please keep milking. I haven’t gave a minute of my time to Switch 2 rumors for the past year and a half because of the milking. Now I want to hear lol
its always done that way placeholders are always placed high and lowered when announced, pushing it up if it is too low only leads to unnecessary anger
There are two pressures about this. First, Nintendo don't sell hardware at a loss. Others do (make it up with software), but Nintendo does not. Second, we are in a world of critical inflation woes and that's not going away anytime soon. It's going to be $499 USD ($475 if Nintendo has really pulled magic with the manufacturing process).
I agree. Nintendo absolutely will not sell at a loss. I would go so far as to say that we are lucky if the price is less than $600 - $700. This is the only way anyone can play Nintendo games.
As of 2025, there are no handheld gaming systems with 8 inch screens that are sold for less than $500. Nintendo could set a $600 dollar price point. It’s still going to sell.
@VastWaz6700 🤷 its not about how much money people will spend in a console ( because the same crowd would state that games from 60 dollars to go to 70 dollars is too much for a game and when the games went from 70 dollars to 80 dollars ( base game) non stated a thing. ) . Its for the ones who dont get a big salary to not preorder because if its a scum they never get their money back.
I consider it lucky if Nintendo sells this machine for less than $700. They are absolutely not going to take a loss from this. Especially when we don’t know what this machine will be capable of doing. Let’s not forget. It will be the only way to play Nintendo games!
I often agree with that mentality "sell more cheaper, Instead of selling less at higher pricee" However, Sony proved this isn't always the case... Since they doubled the PSN price, they lost a bunch of subscribers, but it still increased their profit...
I feel like if they do 400 it's going to be the 3DS Ambassador again. I'm thinking more like 350 tops for the entry model and then 400 for the inevitable oled or whatever other upgrade in a year or two.
400 for a standard model is a fine price. if it suprasses steamdeck in power. they can sell it for 400 maybe even 500. 3ds out of the conversation. it will do 4 times those nr's at 400.
That is no where near the same thing. Do you seriously think they are gonna sell their Next gen Nvidia 8 inch 1080p screen 256gb 12gb of RAM the same price as the Switch Oled ???????? Wtf
I’m not going to get my hopes up for $399. I think at this point, In this economy,it’s probably going to be $500 or very close to it. Nintendo isn’t the consumer friendly company they used to be. They hike up prices on Everything bc they know people will still buy….
LCD with 1080p is still better than a 720 OLED man u guys kill me with the hard lining minor differences that u never notice in the middle of a great game
So I don’t want a higher price but I feel like $500 needs to be the expected price. You said yourself “in this economy” because we all know that literally everything has gone up a ton. On average it’s 22%. If you consider that Nintendo now has a custom made chip designed by the most valuable company in the world, I don’t think it makes sense to assume it will maintain its cheap price
Quick math: in US you look at net price, but in Europe we always operate on gross prices i.e. with VAT. Different europian countries apply different VAT rates, in Italy it's supposed to be 22%, so net price point would be exactly 299 EUR (299 + 22% = 364,78). This is an insane price point, but if you consider how insane number of 1st games they sell, then 3rd party games, which produce some margin to Ninny, then prioprrietary peripherials and the pressure to just blow out the competing handhelds like Steam Deck quickly and once and for all into oblivion, then I don't find this situation impossible.
I could see 2 price points. One at $399.99 with X amount of memory and a $499.99 with a XX amount of memory and other pack ins. For some reason this seems like something that Nintendo would do. They are more than aware of how the current console has done and would try capitalize on its success (and yes I realize the previous system alone is enough to capitalize on). Of course I could also picture Nintendo releasing an all digital version as well for a slightly lower price point.
I dont think an all digital SKU would be a great idea. It would just confuse normie consumers and they’ll be upset when their physical Switch 1 games don’t work. The upgraded console storage would probably justify an additional version, as would a version with a “pack-in” game (likely a download code, lol)
@@StJimmy765 I agree the all digital version would be a bad idea, but I do see Nintendo wanting to compete with the others in some degree, and as much as it sucks to admit the industry is heading towards an all digital future. With Sony and Microsoft already going that route it wouldn’t surprise me if Nintendo offered (if not at launch then further down the road) a digital version of the Switch 2. I just ultimately hope that this doesn’t become a WII U situation where they follow a successful system with a dud. Nonetheless I am excited to see where they go with this as far as games are concerned. Anyway I digress.
$539 is the Nintendo Switch Oled price in Australia 🇦🇺 So I'm guessing $639 or higher Also I've a low heart rate now and don't know whether or not I'm getting a pacemaker so I'm nervous about that to
They should not allow pre orders and just drop the switch 2 in brick and mortar stores only at first. That way it will disrupt the dirt rotten scalpers. And we dint need too deal with online bots
💯 I’d expect that Nintendo will have the most aggressive marketing lowest launch price possible. They will want to set launch sales records… A launch price of $379.99 or even lower wouldn’t surprise me. Just have to wait and see! 👍🙂
Betweej $350 and $399..... $499 is too expensive to buy for children.. Not only that it will release with an LCD screen so later they can release an upgraded OLED model.
Sure its too expensive at the moment, but they could always just market the OG switch for kids and the new switch for hardcore players until it gets enough games to justify a casual or parent's to buy it a year later. They can serve both markets so they may as well as make a profit.
364.99 in this case would not equal to a real price of 380$ because in Europe we are not scam artists like in the USA and the prices include taxes. So that's the price you pay not like the weird scammy prices displayed in the US.
That's because not all states have the same sales tax, or even a sales tax at all No need to get upset because things are different in America then they are in the Pan-national neo-fascist Europe
@@shooter86-uw8ce Even in the same state, you can have local sales tax depending on your city. Europeans forget how huge the US is. There are states that can fit entire European countries. Different locations here, almost have different customs, and for sure different values, which reflects in our taxing laws.
For me, Switch news went like this: RGT pumped out a Switch 2 video every single day for the last 3 months full of rumors and nonsense, talking about it just to talk about it. I got tired after two days, stopped watching. Then finally when other more noticeable creators who arent Nintendo grifters picked up the legit leaks, I saw the news on their channel. Now here is RGT still doing it. Like are you trying to yeet everyone over the age of 30 off your subscriber list?
They need to fix the #NintendoSwitch2 before release. It needs a bigger docking station with open and close case on the back. It also needs a slot for upgrade memory in the docking area. The dock needs to be bigger and upgrade HD converter. It also needs a light system on the front to indicate docked and charging and other things. The portable part needs something. I dont like the way the controllers just snap inward instead of sliding downward means itll proably fall apart easily or theyve used magnets which will destroy the screen over time.
The 500 dollars is expensive for the only factor: It is not a handheld like steam deck ( who provides access to over 40 k games in the cheaper price tag in comparison with sony and xbox store price) . Its not a multiple platform access handheld like rog ally. So 400 euros/ dollars is accepted.
how much is it, when is the release, what games are in the launch window, how much are games, what is the internal storage, what is the mouse function, what is the max cart size, are the triggers hall effect, will regular sd cards work for storage.......
Depending on which games because some games has a lot framerate issues that ruin experience, and a lot of new games like some new Resident Evil games can't run on switch
bro i'm from Italy and i know the retailer. it's a physical store that also sells online and is specialised in cheap pre-orders. it's legit, and their point is to manage to ship games and systems at convention prices (i don't know how it works in the US, but the biggest videogame cons we have in Italy have you pay an entrance ticket only to then find discounts at the stalls). the price they show doesn't literally mean anything: they always set cheaper than usual prices. on top of that, the price can change, however the guys probably gambled on this one, thinking that even if the price goes up, their offering is so enticing that they might lose some money on single units but they'd still sell em all. in any case, they're an independent shop, they're not franchising, and by no means they're to be taken as a benchmark here 😉
Whatever the price point winds up being, it will stay that price for the next 7 or 8 years. If the system is close in specs to an Xbox Series S, it would be hard to justify anything higher than $400, but Nintendo tends to get a pass that other companies dont when it comes to pricing, keeping their first party titles full price years after launch.
lol someone doesn’t know how to gaming industry works. Platform holders are supposed to take major losses on their hardware and make it up through third-party sales on their platform where they make the overwhelming majority of their money from. Come on people educate yourself otherwise they’re going to take advantage of you and charge that for it.
@ That depends on the price on how good it’s going to sell. Gamers are going to buy it no matter how much it cost. The casual audience i are gonna look at the price tag and choose whether it’s worth it or not. I do think that the Switch 2 will be successful in general, but I do not think it is going to be nearly as successful as the original switch. A lot of casuals that are not really much of a casual gamer purchased the switch for example a middle-aged woman that doesn’t play many video games is not the type of person that is gonna go out and buy the Switch 2
You should always keep in mind that if, for example, Nintendo says the Switch 2 costs 399.99, that is only the MSRP for the device. But that doesn't mean that a retailer pays this price or even close to this price when purchasing from Nintendo. Astonishingly, this is a lot lower than you think (but that applies to all products sold in retail). That's why retailers can often offer a product below the MSRP and still make a profit.
I mean well duh, thats how one makes money, so then you have money to buy whatever you wish. Money is not fixed, is subjective, money in our mind is has you taught it was when we where 5, but money in reality outside a certain scope, is fake. Just a number to use so we can agree upon whether we make this deal or not.
Today I learned that americans don't have pre-order discounts. Here in Europe is super normal to have a 15% discount on pre-orders for games. For consoles sometimes they have, sometimes they don't.
4:36 Its called a "loss leader". You sell things at a loss expecting people to buy other things. In this instance, if they're using the switch, they're expecting to make their money on the accessories and games.
Yeah I've held of on buying a PS5 because of the anticipated announcement of the switch 2. If it releases at 499, then ill skip the switch 2 and get the PS5. No way i pay that much for a lesser console. Not saying the switch 2 will suck but its not going to beat a PS5.
What is the meaning of "lesser console"? Did you expect the Switch 2 to match the PS5 in performance while still being portable, at the same price as the PS5 and being a small fraction of the size of the PS5? Are you stupid? Switch 2 has different things to offer. Even if it was the same price as the PS5 that doesnt make the PS5 the better console to buy just because it is more performant because Switch 2 has different things to offer the PS5 cant. And if we talk just about performance for money you should go for a Series X rather than a PS5 then.
I'm not buying this until I know what software is on it. I'm not buying a console if it lacks games that I want. Now there probably would be something I want but is it exclusive? Wait, Metaphor wasn't $60 at launch?
I usually don’t comment, BUT Nintendo is lucky enough to not take losses at Walmart, other brands are not so lucky when Walmart decides to move inventory.
$400 is a good price if it’s not as powerful as the PS5 or Xbox series X but it’s power is compared to the PlayStation 4 pro with AI upscaling then yeah $400 for the base system & $450 for a upgraded version should work just fine
I do think $400 sounds reasonable, Nintendo will make most of their money on games, a new pro controller and other things like that. They usually don't make a massive amount of money on the console itself but on everything around it instead. For 400 bucks, they will basically own PS and Xbox but if they go up to $500, that is a far less safe bet. So yeah, I'm betting on 400 even if 450 is possible, I don't see it go up to 500. If they did, it would seriously hurt their sales.
Question how common is for a new nintendo console to have problems ? I am asking this because in my country we don't have official nintendo stores and usually is not easy to change it if it comes with problems... so i am wandering if maybe i should ask like 3 months o something
i feel like they miss the boat , its like 2-3 years too late , when they release the oled was the right moment for switch 2 , when oled was out i was mad and tired to wait so i sold everything lol too late nintendo
let this sink in, we've been playing on hardware that was outdated when it launched (tegra x1 2015, switch 2017). im pretty sure to keep the cost down they will prolly do the same thing. i got the switch 2 being as powerful as an xbox series s and it costing $400
Im not worried about the "power" of the console . i honestly dont want it to be 4k...it just doesnt need to be. But regardless....i will be buying one .

Exactly!!! It’s going to sell even if it is $600 - $700. Don’t let there be a shortage of systems available!
Im thinking $399. Maybe $500 on a bundle.
Think bigger! $500 - $700. If we are lucky!
Even if it's $500 i am still going to buy.
Too much
@T80010 Not for me.
And let’s not be surprised if the price is $550 to $600. This is a machine with an 8 inch screen in 2025.
@VastWaz6700 Maybe. But i don't think it will be more than the PS5.
I'm gonna skip the pre orders and be at my local Walmart the day it releases😎
I wish they had in store only pick up. No pre-order online sales for a period of time.
Good for you.
@@aaronroberts8601 welp, the neckbeards have arrived😮💨
Um actually don’t because scalpers 😬
I expect violence during switch 2 midnight release 😆
I'm expecting $399 for the Switch 2. $500 is expensive which would be in PS5/XSX territory. $300 would be low and would be in Switch 1 territory.
If you preorder in store the price is 349,99 euros. Also they sell Mario Kart 9 at 44,99 (picture provided)
Do they ship to the Czech republic? If so, I’d preorder.
364.99 in this case would not equal to a real price of 380$ because in Europe we are not scam artists like in the USA and the prices include taxes. So that's the price you pay not like the weird scammy prices displayed in the US.
That's because not all states have the same sales tax, or even a sales tax at all
No need to get upset because things are different in America then they are in the Pan-national neo-fascist Europe
@@shooter86-uw8ce Even in the same state, you can have local sales tax depending on your city. Europeans forget how huge the US
is. There are states that can fit entire European countries. Different locations here, almost have different customs, and for sure different values, which reflects in our taxing laws.
@@shooter86-uw8ceno he’s right America is a scam
For me, Switch news went like this: RGT pumped out a Switch 2 video every single day for the last 3 months full of rumors and nonsense, talking about it just to talk about it. I got tired after two days, stopped watching. Then finally when other more noticeable creators who arent Nintendo grifters picked up the legit leaks, I saw the news on their channel. Now here is RGT still doing it. Like are you trying to yeet everyone over the age of 30 off your subscriber list?
Finally, someone said it! I know the feeling and it's so annoying already
This is the first time I’ve been on one of these videos as it dropped. Cant wait for the switch 2!
I'm hoping for that 400 price but in honestly expecting 450
$450 is more than PS5 base model it will not be more than PS5. I don’t care how new it is that is way over priced for a less graphic console.
I think 450 honestly I hope not but I'm guessing yes and I'm also assuming they will make a switch 2 lite as well at a cheaper price
how much is it, when is the release, what games are in the launch window, how much are games, what is the internal storage, what is the mouse function, what is the max cart size, are the triggers hall effect, will regular sd cards work for storage.......
I still play my original Switch when BOTW came out. The old system works perfectly good still.
Depending on which games because some games has a lot framerate issues that ruin experience, and a lot of new games like some new Resident Evil games can't run on switch
@@AlexF17artthen don’t get it on the switch 😂😂😂
@@BonJovi80-z1k seriously, that's why I have a pc, steam deck, and PS5. If a game doesn't work on switch then I'll get it on the other systems.
@ exactly easy fix no complaint needed 😂🫡🫡
bro i'm from Italy and i know the retailer.
it's a physical store that also sells online and is specialised in cheap pre-orders. it's legit, and their point is to manage to ship games and systems at convention prices (i don't know how it works in the US, but the biggest videogame cons we have in Italy have you pay an entrance ticket only to then find discounts at the stalls).
the price they show doesn't literally mean anything: they always set cheaper than usual prices.
on top of that, the price can change, however the guys probably gambled on this one, thinking that even if the price goes up, their offering is so enticing that they might lose some money on single units but they'd still sell em all.
in any case, they're an independent shop, they're not franchising, and by no means they're to be taken as a benchmark here 😉
Whatever the price point winds up being, it will stay that price for the next 7 or 8 years. If the system is close in specs to an Xbox Series S, it would be hard to justify anything higher than $400, but Nintendo tends to get a pass that other companies dont when it comes to pricing, keeping their first party titles full price years after launch.
Plus, $500 will be cheaper later than $500 now, has we earn more due time.
Selling 2 at 400 is not necessarily better than selling one at 500. Depends on profit margins
lol someone doesn’t know how to gaming industry works. Platform holders are supposed to take major losses on their hardware and make it up through third-party sales on their platform where they make the overwhelming majority of their money from. Come on people educate yourself otherwise they’re going to take advantage of you and charge that for it.
@@michaeldietz2648 I do understand that. I just missed at the very end he added “at the back end of things”
This system is going to sell regardless of the price. What if there is a shortage on units sold?
@ That depends on the price on how good it’s going to sell. Gamers are going to buy it no matter how much it cost. The casual audience i are gonna look at the price tag and choose whether it’s worth it or not. I do think that the Switch 2 will be successful in general, but I do not think it is going to be nearly as successful as the original switch. A lot of casuals that are not really much of a casual gamer purchased the switch for example a middle-aged woman that doesn’t play many video games is not the type of person that is gonna go out and buy the Switch 2
Its £379 standalone and £429 with MarioKart 9
So what is the actual price?
They got the insider information on the price from Mario himself after all he is Italien, his nephew most likely works there.
RGT reached a new low today
Impressive
Today only? I think it's about everyday
There is no way it costs more than $399 when there will be more powerful consoles for less than that
Still haven’t changed your shirt from yesterday RGT! 😂
@@thinkersmovers no I was talking about when he was on the spawn wave yesterday during the live! He never changes his clothes! 😂
@@thinkersmovers @ you reread! ^^ SMH! 😑 🤦
No xbox direct video 😢
But you're not a Nintendo channel😊
Xbox sucks
For real! They had a ton to talk about. Super pumped for Avowed and the new Doom games.
- Price for regular Switch 2: €/$369
- Price for Switch 2 mini: €/$269
- Price for Switch 2 with Superdock:
€/$ 469
A 15 euros difference with the oled is kinda insane. (Prices in Europe is inclusive tax)
it will be 499$ mark my words
$500 if we are lucky. I say $600 - $700.
@ could be
I'll definitely be buying multiples, I had to buy 6 Switches, in total.
Thank you so much
I felt gluttonous owning three just for launch, OLED, Zelda TOTK
Knowing has twice that makes me feel like I'm not quite as bad LOL
I've bought one... It's lasted me whole time, but the controller though omg.. I eventually gave up on those and play it docked 90%
$500? Might as well pick up a 2nd ps5 at that point
Can’t play switch games on ps5.
Maybe the Switch 2 will be 350 bucks and come with Mario Kart 9 in a special bundle for 400€ (pretty unlikely tho)
So you think there will be no price increase from the Switch Oled?
@stephkm3655 who knows
$449.99. You're welcome
I would say $550 - $600. This is 2025 and the only way to play Nintendo games. It’s going to sell anyway.
I hope they make it have 512 GB ON Nintendo Switch 2
From what we've heard it will have 256GB of storage, plus an SD card slot.
For everyone who only want's one thing (price), here you go 2:31
Thank you😂
Yeah I've held of on buying a PS5 because of the anticipated announcement of the switch 2.
Might as well cop the ps5 bro
Rgt turning into Nintendo prime
Damn RGT, calling me out on how long I've had Metroid Prime 4 pre-ordered in Amazon, it's been like 4 years... lmao
I'm wondering if anyone has learned how to deal with these scalpers.
I just bought a switch last December..ill probably buy switch 2 next year.. my Switch is still fine 😊
We’re really milking the switch 2 info aren’t we? No new info has come out so no need to talk about the same things every day.
Trust me, he will continue this. If you think this is something now, wait til the Switch 2 finally releases....About 3-4 videos in one day
I can get a ps5 for like a little bit more especially with gta 6 not being on the switch 2
Will Mario Kart work online with my Mobile Hotspot?
I'm not buying this until I know what software is on it. I'm not buying a console if it lacks games that I want. Now there probably would be something I want but is it exclusive?
Wait, Metaphor wasn't $60 at launch?
I love your content dude. I’m so insanely happy for the success I’ve seen you have.
I usually don’t comment, BUT Nintendo is lucky enough to not take losses at Walmart, other brands are not so lucky when Walmart decides to move inventory.
Im so glad to have my favorite Nintendo RUclipsr back. 😉.
$400 is a good price if it’s not as powerful as the PS5 or Xbox series X but it’s power is compared to the PlayStation 4 pro with AI upscaling then yeah $400 for the base system & $450 for a upgraded version should work just fine
It’s gonna be $399.99. That’s the sweet spot; that price makes the most sense. Question is: what’s the release date? Starting to save up now. 💵🎮
So reading the comments, I take it this video is a nothing burger. Got excited that pre-orders were finally open 🙄
People this is nintendo we are talking about. $500 is playstation and xbox territory
How many click bait surfers are there riding this chatter nonsense? I’ll just wait for Nintendo in April.
Mind you next week is still January I need it to be April asap
In Europe taxes are included in the shelf price. In Italy it’s horrendous 22%. So without tax it would be around 300€.
For a guy who isn't a "Nintendo RUclipsr" we should call you RGT Switch 2 85
Question how common is for a new nintendo console to have problems ? I am asking this because in my country we don't have official nintendo stores and usually is not easy to change it if it comes with problems... so i am wandering if maybe i should ask like 3 months o something
I live in Italy and I think the pre order is most likely a scam or fake just by looking at the image, very sus
i feel like they miss the boat , its like 2-3 years too late , when they release the oled was the right moment for switch 2 , when oled was out i was mad and tired to wait so i sold everything lol too late nintendo
let this sink in, we've been playing on hardware that was outdated when it launched (tegra x1 2015, switch 2017). im pretty sure to keep the cost down they will prolly do the same thing. i got the switch 2 being as powerful as an xbox series s and it costing $400
What chip from Nvidia was more recent that the Tegra X1 when the Switch released ?
If it's $499- $500 they'll be looking at a Wii U situation
Im not worried about the "power" of the console . i honestly dont want it to be 4k...it just doesnt need to be. But regardless....i will be buying one .
4K would be good because many people have big 4K TV’s now they’re very affordable, it would be good for Nintendo to support it with the dock
No way I’m going directly to the Nintendo store to get mine
Nintendos fourth iteration would be called “SWITCHERS” 😂
