I came here from a live performance of Dammit with the live drummer and everyone commenting that he was better because he was punker. But watching this, you see Travis can do the fast punk thing flawlessly. He gets too fancy sometimes when writing his own parts, but when he is unloading on the old stuff, he sounds phenomenal. This was great to see.

This video and actually this whole live performance changed my mind. Check out Travis playing Josie during this set. The snare rolls are even better. I knew Travis was a great drummer but this performance I have to give respect that he had the punk flair when needed.
It’s not that Travis couldn’t do the fast punk thing (if that’s what you’re referring to based on what you’ve seen people have said), It’s that it’s vastly different from How Scott plays and feels. With Scott, he hits so much Harder, gets so much volume from his kit, and he isn’t playing ahead like Travis is here; who’s more lighter by comparison I would disagree that he sounds phenomenal on the old songs (for me at least), especially on this rendition of Carousel. His style, especially with his choice of fills, tend to not flow as well and the momentum of songs tends to drag at times with his fancier fills and over abundance of them (or rather, more than they need to be); compared to Scott, where he would throw in small fills in here and there while maintaining the momentum of the song, and play fills that fit and flowed Better with the song. Yes, Travis can do fast punk. But when people are saying that Scott is punkier; they most likely mean that he plays with the right feel and Attitude for the songs. Travis can play correctly and everything, but he doesn’t carry the same impact and attitude for the songs that people liked from Scott.

Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch are by far my favorite Blink albums. What separates it from the rest is the way they would jam out before any lyrics were sung like they did with Carousel. Stoked that we get one more chance to see them all together again.

I’d drive around my city just listen to these albums, and LTJ’s Losing Streak. Nowhere to go really…unless it was to/from school, or looking for skate spots.
