    I visited Volgograd in 1978 and this memorial complex and statue. I still have my pictures from my visit. Very moving and sad to see in person, terrible loss of life honored. Dave-San Diego, CA

    I remember being a kid in the 70s looking at Guinness book of world records and seeing this statue 50 years later I'm still amazed ❤❤❤

      Same here. That softcover version that you would order from the classroom. I remember being fascinated by the photo due to the tiny people seen at the base of the statue. The scale of it seemed unreal.

    What an incredible monument . Very moving. One can see the strategic importance of capturing and holding this vantage point. So many gave their lives for it and for Stalingrad. Thank you for posting this video. I hope i can visit the site myself someday.

    Always wanted to go there. Since childhood I've read so many accounts of Stalingrad. The tenacity and patriotism of the Red Army can not be denied only respected and honored.
    Nice video! Ambient sound ,Perfect choice!
    The blower sound was perfect ! A place of death is ALIVE because of the blood spilled. The people go on ,deaths wete not in vain !

    This is one of the most important values of humankind, The Rememberance. The act to remember all those who fought for freedom should be a must written in the Human Rights Letter and into all Declaration of Independece of each contry.     Unbelievable, unexpectedly top of statue Stalingrad , marvellous construction created far walking distance to see it, unimaginable monuments can't guess it ,such a well planned prepared to see it live walking with you sir, is exceptional to say in words but it's really beautiful to see.     Back in 1987, Parade Magazine did an article on this place, and the American journalist who did the story said that it was when he was there, he really began to understand what Russia endured at that time. He concluded, "No American can talk to these people about war. They know it in a way that is intimate and personal."

    Beautiful day to view this amazing monument and gardens. Such a huge sacrifice for the people of Russia to repel the evil invasion of their country.Hopefully some day humanity will no longer have to suffer such destruction and grief. Pray for peace.

    Absolutely beautiful but you stopped videoing too soon! Why didn’t you get the statue close up from multiple angles?
    When I saw how slowly you were walking and how short the video was my heart sank.
    MUCH too short but what you DID record, you deserve a score of 10 out of 10.
    If you live in Volgograd, please go back and get some more footage of this amazing statue.

    Это видео я очень давно хотела посмотреть у вас, но почему-то всегда откладывала его на потом, в дальний ящик, можно так сказать)) Мамаев курган для меня всегда оставляет невероятные ощущения, сравнимые чем-то с местом в Россошках. Правда один раз я была все-таки грешна, в попытках приставания к солдату, стоящему возле Вечного огня, чтобы он слегка шевельнулся, не дожидаясь караула)) Но это в прошлом))) 😇 В этих видео очень интересно оглядываться по сторонам и ступать осторожной поступью вслед вам)) Спасибо за вашу работу) Теперь вы знаете, какие мои планы на выходные)) 😂

    Should be renamed back to Stalingrad honestly. Its an insult to the veterans who perished fighting for this place, basically turning the tide of the war and showing the whole that yes, the German Army is NOT invincible. Even the troops said Stalin had to be strong for them, and appreciate his leadership in defence of the city.

    I've not been to Volgograd, very pretty monument area. Is this the companion statue to the one in Kyiv? What time of year was this one, it wasn't filmed this year was it? But I miss the hair scarfs. Couldn't she come with you on this trip?
