@@watchbizmatik there is a new version of this song its usa for haiti its funny cos its like you described it
Old singers they really can sing without the auto tune✌
So true !
@@watchbizmatik , there's actually a remake of this song 25 years later to raise money for the disaster in Haiti. You might want to check it out, it's good....but nothing beats the original ☺️
I've noticed whenever Michaels part comes up everyone smiles. In every reaction video I've seen. F THE Press
That is the absolute truth
I get emotional everytime when Michael Jackson comes up.
Yes. MJ was proven innocent in a long trial too.
Omg yes!!!!!
Nobody does it better the angelic voice and unique look is such a dangerous and scary combination who else agrees???
I love the way everyone else in that roomis dressed casually and then u get Michael standing out as always!!
Lol. Majority of them had just come from the American Music Awards and I think Michael performed that night.
That’s just the way he dressed, look at any time he was out in public. The man had multiple thousands spent on each outfit.
@@vapperzz0006 Yes and no.
If I'm not mistaken (of what I remember from watching the making of), Michael ditched the AMAs that day to stay and prepare everything for this recording.
Other artists like Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Hall & Oates performed in the AMAs and went straight from there to the studio to record this.
They first recorded the group chorus and sent home whoever was not a soloist, then pulled an all nighter to record the solos.
They must've been so tired after it all, and still sound perfect.
Michael stands out no matter what he's a bloody king 🤴
Quince Jones had a sign at the door saying leave your egos here.
@Poua Kai 😂😂😂

* Side Note* Prince had been invited, but refused, stating, "I don't wanna be seen with those M***** F*****s - as such, his solo parts were performed by Huey Lewis.
Always thought Prince was a major dick for that. So many of those artists were at the height of their careers too, but they took the time and cared enough. That said, the song was absolutely perfect without him so it worked out for the best.
Wasn't Smokey Robinson there, too?
@@DellyDoo ok so on top of not letting Weird Al do his songs he poopoo'ed We Are the World?! Prince can take a pinnapple up the bum for that one.
Prince, sadly, was famously a legend in his own mind and, while admired by many for his talent, was liked by himself and himself alone. Just as well he blew this off. I'm quite sure I'd like it less with him involved...
@@davenunyabusiness4893 That actually sounds like a wardrobe choice Prince might have made...😁
And to think these legends sold our arenas all summer long WITHOUT social media!! Just by the fans buying records and doing whatever to go see them. We don’t have artists like that anymore. I’m so blessed I was born in ‘75
Daang! He started cheesing! When MJ came on the scene. Lol! 😜
😁
MJ = instant smile.
Only him!!
Bruce and Stevie, Epic! As is the entire performance and great song!
That duo was genius. My favorite part of the song
Stevie and Bruce killed it!
Many youngsters don't realize this was all A-level talent at the time. You will never see that much talent come together for one day under one roof ever again. There is a great doc here on RUclips about the event. Unreal.
your right ,but all this bullshit was for nothing,Where did the money go they are still poor and yet politicians get Richer
It's all a game for them !Media Control
No one compares today to the artist of the 60s, 70s and 80s!!!! Fun reaction to the best song ever made!
i get teary every time i hear this `Im 53 years old and grew up on all of these artists gg
You were spot on with respect to the so called artists today. These greats put their egos aside and created something beautiful and raised a ton of money.
I feel so old. I remremember when this was made. Check your egos at the door. I know and have heard every one of those artists and all the different genres they come from. You will never see this much talent in one place like this again, done the old fashioned way. One if my favorite .
cyndi lauper went off I was like wow
Yeah, mic picks her up just as well when she backs up about half a block...😁
@@StudeSteve62 yes that's very true
She was great along with other amazing artists but michael doesn't need to belt out a tune to make it one. He's just on another playing field from all the others he is king
Awesome all around. My favorite part is Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry, and Daryl Hall going back to back to back.
My favorites were Kenny Logins, Steve Perry and then Huey Lewis and Cyndi Lauper! And of course Stevie Wonder at the end!
They killed it!!! Real stars and singers. The 80's the legendary time. Stevie, Ray, Bruce, Cyndee, James Ingram killed it. MJ looked sooooo amazing, like a King!
This is the type of song you’ve heard all your life, but when you really stop and listen to every bit of it, it hits different.
I didn'f care for the Haiti remake. Too many egos tryin'to sing solos. Quincy made sure no egos came into play in the original. Quincy's arrangement of talent is why this was so great.
I have to check out the Haiti one
I couldn't agree more. The vibe of the Haiti one is a big nope for me
That's suppose to be why Prince is not in this one
I agree, the one for Haiti is horrible! You can't remake what has already been perfected.
Fun fact: there was a written sign on the studio’s front door that read “leave your egos at the door”.
MJ and Diana... so beautiful.
REAL TALENT... YOU SAID IT.... 💪🇺🇸❤
Some of the most talented singers and songwriters ever.
Greatest collaboration of all time.
Yes back in the day there was no auto tune it was all raw true voice awesome stuff.
Bruce and Little Stevie. Had to be done.:-)
Talented, all of them, and obviously their Director is a genius. There is a documentary that details how they built this song, and recorded it in one night. Watch that, it’ll blow your mind. Facts.By the time we get to the end- Stevie, Ray, James Ingram- and Bruce Springsteen are takin us to church. 🎧😎Quincy Jones put these artists together for a reason.....it’s magical....facts.🔥
Man I miss Kenny Rogers and Michael Jackson. Pieces of my childhood gone. RIP Kenny and MJ.
I am with you @kelly Anderson those two are deeply missed by anyone who truly loved music..... Also Ray Charles dad that he had past so many great icons in one room for a greater cause
They were raising money to help Africa had a natural disaster. But this video is example of American spirit. We need it back come on America where you at?!!!!
I remember when this came out. Every radio station played it at the same time. Awesome memories. Sad so many are gone.
I love your reaction! I remember the song when it came out (1985) but you have to remember, there was no youtube or online much of anything back in those days. IIRC if you had Cable TV you might have seen the video as it aired but all I ever heard was the song on the radio. Thankfully, this was filmed for posterity so everyone can see it now. What a fantastic group of talented people! Interesting thing: I'm finding a ton of reactions to this video from people of your generation. I'm thrilled you are so excited about the artists and the concept! Thank you.
How did I miss this one??? Loved this!!! And perfect timing!!! Great energy & review!!! You had me 😂 just thinking about today’s artist’s doing this!!
And even though I’ve said it like a bizillion times now, welcome back fam!!! You were definitely missed!!! 💞
You are right about the portrayal of Africa. But when they did this, there was actually famine in Africa on a biblical scale. It wasn't just the USA for Africa. There was Live Aid in the UK, too. (Queens performance is NOT to be missed!)
Nobody was the star of this - everyone agreed to that and left their egos at the door.
Yeah that's very true nobody had an ego unlike those who did the remake to this
At the beginning you said "I've never watched the whole thing, cuz why would I"...now you know why😊Such a phenomenol moment in musical history! So many of the greats!!!!
I've heard/watched this song so many times, and cry *every time.* Beautiful, in every way. Thx for the great music and reactions!
Heavens chorus line right there.
Rarely anyone remembers when they made a version for Haiti about 10 years ago, and for good reasons lmao
I hate it. There is one for Covid, hate that one too. Lol
today's singers wouldn't even outperform those who did chorus in this song,
Dan Akroyd would probably be a soloist today..lmao
Agreed
They won't be anywhere close to this.
I went years without listening to this song mainly because it was so played out back in the day! You could not get away from this song. But watching it now brings in a kind of sadness. Many of these stars were in their prime, some were already legends, some were just beginning - young and beautiful. Now, some have retired, some are still performing and rocking the gray hair, and sadly, some have passed on! We need another "We Are the World" complete with the social distancing, of course! I'm not sure if there's even enough talent currently to pull it off though! They tried a few years back and it was a joke and sucked a$$! Thank you for the smile and the reflection back to an awesome time in my life! Without even checking out your other videos I tapped that sub!
Thanks for the sub 💯💯
You're back! ❤ Missed you Biz. I've been playing your SRV reactions on repeat 😁🙏
Im happy to back, i missed yall too ❤❤
100% organic! Today’s pop singers couldn’t pull this off without auto tune and techno crap over their voices
This is so much more relevant today. We boomers had the best music🥰
😂😂😂😂Brah!!!…..when you mentioned about the artist of today…..LMFAO🤙🏼
I'm just randomly watching reaction videos and this is the first of yours I'm watching but you cracked me up when you started talking about the pop stars of today doing this shit with autotune and stuff.. Quavo.. Drake... hahahahaha... 🤣🤣🤣🤣you got me there, I like you dude 👍
I may seem bias but when michael jackson sings I almost cry he's the measuring stick
First time is wow all these musical geniuses. Second time is the lyrics.
Harry Balefonte ultimately created USA for Africa mostly for the starving in Ethiopia. Michael Jackson along with Lionel Richie wrote and composed We are the World.
Quincy Jones let it be known that all egos be left at the door because of the magnitude of some of the singers success to make this work. In 1985 when this was released, I was 21 years old and in my 3rd year in college.
One reason 80s music endures is because those singers are for real.
yep
Michael Jackson the G.O.A.T. loved his harmonies with Diana Ross.
You got me when you said imagine if artist today Sang this 😂😂😂 it'll be autotune and drake hahaha 😂😂😂
"Voices that Care" was produced for soldiers fighting the first Gulf War in the early 1990's. Not as impressive as this lineup, but still pretty good. Hope you'll check it out.
Everybody else: We're in the studio all day. I'm dressing comfortable.
Michael Jackson: Nah. Fuck that...
This song was made in 1985 when several countries in Africa were going through very hard times. Yes the proceeds went to help the communities, feed and cloth them. Built schools. Africa of today is better today but 36 years ago, several communities needed help.
The collaboration was dope n fire period
Love you, Man. 💖💖💖
💙💙
Man you had me laughing hard when you got to Drake as Michael Jackson Lolol
Hideous idea (and I'm Canadian!)...but hilarious, too...
Drake wishes he could be michael 😂
As they left they were all asked who they were most excited to meet, hands down Bob Dylan. Quincy the greatest arranger ever, he told them to leave their egos at the door.

Bob Geldolf and Midge Ure got together British singers in a studio to record Do They Know its Xmas as Bob was horrified about the worst drought and famine in Ethiopia ever.
Vision, Bob got together and asked the USA to come on board and Hense Lionel Ritchie and Michael Jackson wrote We are the World producer and director Quincy Jones who got everyone together. To record Mar 85 the same way as on Britain.
Hense Bob and Midge then asked USA to join together to create the best concert ever
Live Aid for the plight of Africa
13 th July 85
I know I had a very sore head.
Thid started with an Irish man Bob Geldolf of The Boom Town Rats and Midge Ure of Ultravox.
This was Bob's vision
HENSE LIVE AID
1985
This was amazing! Also, Africa has a breathtaking country side. 🤍❤
Dude this was an awesome reaction I started laughing when you were talking about imagining getting the newer gen rappers doing one of these because there’s no way that will ever happen but man if it did it would be worse than a fat guy playing dodgeball🤣
Thanks fam
@@watchbizmatik yes sir💯
Love here from Scotland
Luv; 💯🙌🏾🙌🏾
New stars tried this with Haiti, that was a complete joke comparing to this masterpiece, no..the 80's superstars are passed away or retired, todays artists don't have that label anymore, time has changed and so did the artists.
I know even the legend MJ is gone... but i will do a video to the Haiti one soon
The only good thing in Haiti Version is MJ's part
i know this was 2 months ago but it seems like everyone is forgetting the purpose of these songs, they were for our fellow people from different parts of the world. They were made to give these poor people the foundation that they thought was broken.
Today’s pop stars would have been handed the sheet music and said,
“What are all these strange symbols and lines and stuff?”
Pop these days is not the same. Pop in those days meant talent.
Quincy is a master at choosing voices for songs. If you're cool with gospel try hallelujah. There are many gospel and secular singers cutting up.
You: "That shit would be fucking horrible!"
Me: Yup, that right there earns the sub *click*
This was for this was to raise money for the food famon in Ethiopia, nothing negative about Africa.
I remember Quincy telling everyone to leave their egos at the door. He made absolute brilliant choices for the line up.
What up Biz🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No one pay theme to do this. Mickel Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote the song in 1984 for stoping the hunger in Africa. Quicy put those voice together ,and this is a master piece full of the gratest name of the world gratest performers of the 70',80',90's . M.J was the purest soul and this project help of putting stop on hunger in Africa. R.I.P M.J😢
Black Men United You Will Know Live
Omg man,you should listen to her sing You better be good to me.Its one of my favorites from her
This was directed so perfectly
And they did it for free!!
mj forever
You're absolutely correct. This could not be done with today's "artists". Had me cracking up😂
Bring back the love
@4:21 - Please, BizMatik! Don't give'em any ideas!! - That's all we need now, these Pop-Tarts artists trying to remake this shit.
Dream team of artists
one of the most powerful love song
Imagine quavo. I'm dead🤣
World Hymn!!!
4:19 omg exactly what i was thinking haha
You Gotta Check We Are The World 25 Now Lol Its Probably The Best Follow Up Thatll Ever Happen
I definitely will
It was trash the fucking auto tone
Lionel Ritchie & Michael Jackson wrote this brilliant song for charity; bringing all these artists together was exceptional;
Amo essa música 🇧🇷😍😍😍Michael Jackson rei do pop😍
was thinking the same can u do this now??can be good singers but like this? they was 1 at the time of the recording.. loving it!!
At that time, every female in America loved Michael.
this was to feed the children in Uganda during their Famon.
Diana Ross was sort of a mentor to Michael when the Jackson 5 started out with Motown. To think Smokey Robinson, Jeffery Osborne, Harry Belafonte or Bette Midler didn’t get a solo line; they are also legend’s.
Thank you
4:19 LOL If it were today's artists. Maybe Arianna Grande could pull off a verse. Maybe. Holy hell you are spot on. That shit would be terrible. Some other vocal legends I wish were in there: Whitney Houston, George Michaels, Christopher Cross, Michael MacDonald and Stevie Winwood.
I like this song) 👍
🔥
I was thinking the same thing about today's artists trying to do something like this. Unfortunately, a lot of singers do not have true talent like the ones you are seeing in this video. You use to have to be able to sing to get a record deal. Now they can just use technology to make you sound like you have a voice until they have to sing live and then you realize they are a fraud.
I first became aware of this in the 2000s when I heard Adam Levine sing live on TV and was like, "What is this?! He sounds awful compared to his songs on the radio." That's when I learned about autotune. I actually am happy when good artists can still sing too. In 2019, my mom and I saw Celine Dion in concert, she's still got it! My whole family also saw Bon Jovi too and Jon still got it. They don't make them like they use to . . .
@@Zodia195 You are so right
there was another one did with the 90's and 2000's singers... We are the world for HAITI... maybe u can react to that too... i think u will be suprised.
I will make a video on it
Surprised? Or do you mean horrified? Hahahahahaha.. Just wait till he here's t-pain's part in the new version lmfao! 😂🤣😅😭
They have a real video of this.
They are practising hear.
King Ray !!
They did a newer version, but there's no comparison! I really enjoyed your comments!
No they have the talented one already .
lol imagine if they tried to sync IMAGINE by the Beatles lol, it's a song like We Are The World, could happen.
