Beans on toast isn’t weird, it’s what us brits call a poor man’s meal😂. I love it.
Exactly, beans on toast is delicious. Poor man's meal or not.
🇬🇧
With heinz beans sneaking up to 3 quid a tin I wouldn't call it a poor mans meal anymore😢.
DELICIOUSE!!!!! I WOULD EAT IT 24/7
i called it "students lifeblood"
How can you not like beans on toast?! Literally could have that for breakfast, lunch or dinner 😂
American beans are disgusting. These poor sods have never had real food.
Fr
Ikr I m appalled that they don’t like beans on toast
9:20
This is so funny! 😂😂😂😂
Jaffa cakes aren't biscuits, they're cakes. It's in the name! 😂
There was a whole lawsuit thing about this since in the UK, as well as sugar tax, there's also a cake tax. Jaffa cakes fell under this tax umbrella so they got taken to court and were legally deemed a cake not a biscuit. Since cakes go from being soft to being hard when stale and cookies are the opposite, hard to soft, when stale.
It's actually the other way around. Biscuits are VAT free, unless they are partially or fully coated in chocolate (or similar), while cakes are zero VAT regardless of if they are chocolate coated.
HMRC tried to say that they were a chocolate covered biscuit, because they were the size of biscuits and sold alongside biscuits in the shops rather than with cakes.
Mcvities produced an extra large version (12 inch cake) using the same recipe to prove that it was cakes rather than biscuits.
They won the case, which is why Jaffa cakes don't have VAT on them.
I would love to see Justin and andrew go visit the UK with Isaac so they could get a real british experience, that would be some good vlogs lol
TRUE!!
Can I ask what u think the British experience is
@@flamingamin69 Well being british I know the best british experience would be to visit someone who lives here and preferably somewhere outside of london haha
Very sweet idea!! I really hope they see this and consider it.
Can you imagine them outside of Buckingham Palace making jokes.
drunk people and crack heads haha the full experiance
I love having Isaac on the team!!! He’s so relatable and funny!!! Not to mention talented!!! ♥️👏
YES Isaac is amazing. These guys are magnets for interesting and talented people.
He makes good music
Isaac's smart, too!
I can tell the guy on the right was one of them kids who you had to tell them everything is just chicken 😂😂😂😂
Not just chicken, but only chicken strips, pizza pops, or pop tarts. LoL.
Can't believe how triggered I got over their reaction to beans on toast. 'Was the toast slightly scorched, was it on thick sliced white, did he use tons of real butter, was it hot, had the beans been simmered for a few minutes to make them mushy?'.
Because of 'studio conditions' I assumed no to most of it. They get a one off exemption.
I also told myself that American 'cuisine' is some of the worst in the world so these guys wouldn't know 'good' even if it kicked them in the face.
Edit; have just subbed...can't wait for these guys to meet British again. 1812, dudes !
Beans on toast is god tier! Heavily buttered toast with beans and grated cheese! Banging
Grated Red Leicester over beans on toast...
Damnit, I'm hungry now.
The food of kings.
Init beans on toast is banging 😊
Cheesy beanoz 🏴
Oh yes, the cheese. Strong cheddar 🤤🤤🤤 Only problem with beans though 🚶♀️💨🤣
The amount of marmite on that toast is lethal wtf… thinly spread
give the yanks a thick spread, they deserve to suffer
As an average British It broke my heart that they didn’t like most of the foods cuz I love so many of these and there so good I think Americans are really fond of the flavours 😢😢
They don't understand food everything they eat is unhealthy
At least they liked quavers 😅
She reason they didn't like most of the food is because all American foods is rammed with Chemicals to get the flavour which are bad for you
And most chemicals put in American food are band in UK because they are bad for you
Yea same in British I was born here and I am 29 years old
Beans on toast is one of them things when your mum says she’s tired so she just puts beans on and makes toast
Isaac's palet has given me a whole new respect for him! Coming from New Zealand 🇳🇿 Isaac, you my friend, are an absolute legend!
No pictures of former presidents. This is a family channel!
Crumpets are nothing like an English muffin. English muffins are a bit like a flat topped bread roll which you split and toast in the toaster, then you butter it before eating.
I love how two of you are sat there saying how adults wouldn't bother with Kinder Eggs for the toys and the disappointing chocolate ratio all the while the other guy is in the background saying
"Aww man, I got stickers! This is so cool! I gotta build my turtle dude! He's going on an adventure!"
As an Australian person I love most of these foods
Crumpets are made from a batter which is very similar to pancake batter, it uses yeast (to make them rise) but not eggs.
My favourite is to melt cheese on top of them under the grill.
A slice of ham under the cheese is just divine 😂
Watching this from the UK it's so funny watching Justin and Andrew trying these foods! The Whole video makes it seem like you where born yesterday 😂
Well i think beans on toast is better than bullets in children
You should definitely give them Colin the caterpillar cake from M&S next time and I eat beans on toast for lunch and dinner when my mum goes out cause my dad can’t cook anything else
We grow grapes in the uk but for wine making usually. Blackcurrants were banned in America until recently as the plants could carry a fungus that affected pine trees which America uses for almost anything wooden.
Beans on toast are my favourite especially with some grated cheese on top, best British thing we have
I agree, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce or brown sauce too.
I'm British and I hate baked beans 🤮
You guys and the whole team have changed me a lot, ever since I started watching you guys, it reminded me of my friends and I, even today. Keep up the absolutely fantastic work buds. ❤
This just made me want a cheese and pickle sandwich now lol
This is the most accurate British snacks video I’ve seen thanks to Isaac, most of my favourites except the marmite 🤢
I love marmite,I think its just a thing of liking rally salty things
@@theonlytohrudragon2554 me to it’s amazing
Try a cheese and marmite sandwich, but the marmite has to be applied thinly, delicious
@@vizzbucks05 OMG it’s amazing I have it in the lunchbox at school and everyone around me is always like that’s horrible how can you eat that
Not only is Isaac just a fun dude that compliments the team in such a great way, but I really do believe his music can change lives. At least, the music he wants to make specifically. Chained to myself is just different.
As someone who is British i love all this food. I didn't realise America didn't have these so watching you guys react was the funniest thing ever.
The beans on toast need some cheese on top its a game changer
Malt loaf is so blooming nice .I prefer it over a chocolate brownie any day. Irn bru is brilliant it's one of my favourite pops and monster munch is the food of Kings ( not literally) those things kept me going through the 80's
beans on toast is like a back up meal.
We have fantastic food and snacks in the UK.
Isaacs just chose the ones he likes.
in the war bread was the most accessible item with rationing, same as everything being pickled because they would last longer
it’s funny hearing Isaacs American accent but with english inflctions.
I honestly love England, I went for a Mission Trip last year with my church and I’m going back next month!
How can you not like our foods no way 😂😂😂
I'm from UK love all those. Baked beans on toast are the best.
I love everyone in the team and both of your families and friends we need more sword and seed , and dad vlogs!
9:12 The reason Beans on Toast is so popular is because it's very cheap, you only need to use a toaster and a microwave and from start to finish, it only takes about 3 minutes to make. This makes it very popular with drunk/stoned people and young people, as it's so quick, easy and filling, that you basically can't go wrong with it. People who want a bit more flavour will add spices to their beans like paprika, chilli flakes, oregano, salt & pepper, etc. and it's also common to add a bit of cheese on top which usually slightly melts from the heat.
I am English and I absolutely love all the food on this video 😂 yeah even the marmite 😂😂
Hi guys, being British, I grew up with Marmite and still love it, crumpets are well tasty, skinheads on a raft is baked beans on toast, good old fart fodder. Cheese and pickle sandwiches 5/10, paste and cucumber much better together. Beef flavoured monster munch are the best ones. I grew up with Ribenna, I don’t drink fizzy drinks, milk bottles are rummy. I could eat a whole box of Jaffa cakes, so addictive. Asparagus soup is a no no with me, hated it as a kid and still hate it, it reminds me of a bowl of Flem. I use to peel the chocolate of the crunchy and eat the honey cone on its own. The double decker is about a 8/10 for me. Kinder eggs, nice chocolate, not to sweet and you get a toy to make. Issac your awesome, love having you hanging out with Justin and Andrew. Thank you guys your the best. Xxxx
Cheese and pickle sandwich classic choice Issac
Been a minute since a new Podcast! Love to see it! God bless you, fellas 🙌
Hahaha this was such a good watch! 😂 As ‘Brits’ we definitely prefer American food (including root beer!) 😅 Some of the reactions were class! 😂 Also remember meeting you in London - That was quality! 🙌
With the beans on toast thing, I guess it's bland if you compare it to certain other American beans, but that's why you use proper butter on the toast and, whilst there is absolutely a case for eating beans on toast as is, if you want more flavour we will add a good, mature British Cheddar cheese on top, a nice amount of pepper or maybe some Worcester sauce or even, wait for it, a little Marmite spread thinly on the toast underneath. You could also have a nice dollop of HP sauce on the side too. You can even add a nice fried egg but then it's less "beans on toast" and more a breakfast "egg & beans" (yes, we are THAT pedantic!). Basically, the blandness of the dish allows you to tailor and mould it more to your own taste but I push back on the whole "British palate = bland" thing because most Brits will absolutely prefer to season their dish in multiple ways with a variety of British condiments and ingredients and I would argue THAT is where all the flavour is in basic British food. For example, English Mustard is WAY less bland than American Mustard; English Cheddar (i.e. REAL Cheddar) is WAY less bland and more varied than American Cheddar; English Malt vinegar too has more flavour than standard American spirit vinegar and then we use lots of things like Worcester sauce and Marmite in our cooking, things which apparently have so much flavour most Americans can't hack it, lol. I think many Americans taste British food as it comes but it would be like ordering plain French Fries and not adding any salt, ketchup, BBQ sauce or anything and then complaining that it is too bland. And then when someone complains that something is too bland and you provide them with flavour in the form of Marmite or Worcester sauce they wince and cry that it tastes too strong! Also, the whole "Beans on Toast" for dinner thing, I feel like we have that because of the pure convenience of it combined with the fact that it is great sustenance - it'll fill you up and keep you going for very little cost and effort and, if you ask me, it tastes pretty great too ... although, like I say, I would definitely add some quality, grated mature English cheddar and pepper on top of mine if I'm having Beans on Toast any time after 1pm
This. Exactly this. You nailed it.
Curry is the favorite British dish and the largest empire in history arose just so it's people could get their hands on spices...
just a hint of smoked paprika on beans on toast elevates it to a whole new level.
@@paulleach3612 the hottest “Indian” curry is the Faal … made in Britain, lol
@@audiocoffee yeah, a bit of smoked Paprika is a great addition too. Maybe not traditionally “British” but what does that really mean anyway!
@@matthewwalker5430 exactly!! with the intake of migrants from India, a lot of our foods from the late 50's onwards, was inspired by a fair chunk of India - and some of the food we think is Indian, was actually from Birmingham or Manchester. our food history is paved with other cultures.
We eat simple sandwhiches like Cheese & Pickle because originally we couldnt afford meat (especially turkey) to be used in our sandwhiches. Only in recent times is meat affordable for us british but back in the day it wouldnt really have been used in sandwhiches, so thats why we eat these bland foods like chees and pickle and beands on toast haha
I had to laugh at the reactions to to the pickle and marmite, I personally love them but my goodness the amount that was put on each. Best used sparingly. Lol
I’m British and I still love u guys been watching jstu for 5 years or more now love u guys
I think Isaac may have inadvertently stumbled upon a new song idea: "Thicc & Squidgy". I'd buy that track. 😉
I love how Justin and Andrew are just looking at the food and just look like they’re saying what the heck is that I’m British so I know all this
Marmite on crumpets 😋 love it.
Just ordered some heinz beans to try and make beans on toast! Can't wait
I was so glad when Justin said the jaffá cakes box looks like a kraft dinner box haha that's exactly what I was thinking😂😂 I swear we're connected some how
How could you not like Heinz beans!😂
Awesome vid! The crumpets, kinder surprise and crunchie are also in Australia.
English here, I love northern accents. Salt of the earth up north. I'm a southerner.
Imagine not liking beans on toast!
I haven't had beans on toast for awhile, last time i did was on toasted gluten free bread roll and its nice esp if you add seasoning. Crumpets with marmite is everything mate ❤ cheese and pickle on crackers or rice cakes is good too aswel as sandwich
finally i love when people do this
i love monster munch pickled onion!! its the bomb! glad you got to try it! its my fav!
Aw i love Isaac and you represented well buddy. Shame you guys didn't like most of the food. Marmite is one of my fave things to eat. Interestingly and sadly it's rarely a spread offered with hotel breakfasts tho
Also Issac could have turned the cheese and pickle sandwich into a what we call a ploughmans sandwich which also has lettuce tomato and cucumber in it as well
👍👍🤣😂🤣That was fun! I'd love to see you all go to England and also experience different cultures.
Y’all are so good at making podcast
I think you did great with your choices of British food for the guys to try. I am 47 and still like a chicken paste sandwich now and again.
Baked beans with toast is big in South Africa for brekkie (breakfast) 😅
YOU ARE THE BEST I HAVE WATCHED YOU FOR 7 YEARS AND I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS
Cheesy beans on toast with pepper is divine
I love cheese on toast with baked bean over the top... yummy 😋
Well that was absolutely marvelous.
The Cheese and pickle sandwich was a working man's lunch in post war UK and was born out of poverty .people tend to forget that the UK had rationing and the portions per person per week was very small during and after the war. clothes were still rationed into the 1950s .Marmite is an example of a government trying to keep the population healthy with enough vitamins while supply ships were being sunk by U Boats .
Irn Bru is made from girders by the way, so that's the flavour ...
... also, fun fact, "Cheesy Quavers" is rhyming slang for "ravers" over here in Blighty. I used to be a bit of a cheesy quaver when I was young, lol
... and just to sign off, Isaac, I'm with you brother 100%. You're spot on with your assessment, all that food selection is proper bangin' and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Cheese & Chutney should provoke a victory lap in my opinion.
You should have tried a fish finger sandwich ! Love Jaffa cakes, double decker and prawn cocktail crisps xx
I'm British you nailed it, all I would say is I like marmite but only put a little on top of butter.
4/10 baked beans is not nailed that’s a disgrace
Crème egg would of been good, jammy dodgers, bourbon biscuits, custard creams, cheese and onion walkers, I could name loads…good show
I was there when Caleb left and then I was that one hyper left but I am so happy that Isaac came on the team she’s probably one of the best cast members 🎉❤
Beans on toast is a cheap student meal or a quick breakfast, no one has ever hyped it up more than that but I know Americans like to make their jokes 😂, don’t know a single person who just has beans on the toast though, it’s always with grated cheddar cheese and brown (HP) sauce 👍
Need to bring them to the Curry Mile in Birmingham- followed by some orange chips from the Black Country (as well as some beer battered chips) some pork scratchings, of course a pint with pork pie and cheese and onion cob!!!
Remember the old adverts for Marmite? "You either love it or you hate it".
I've missed this channel!!
I had the prawn cocktail crisps today😂
Crunchie yummy.. my fav choc 😅 hard to find these days in SA 😊 LOL Kinder Joy is what we call them. Big fan among kids in South Africa 🇿🇦
Malt Loaf - Toast it and add honey...... whole different ball game!!!
My other half has crumpets with butter and Marmite and it drives me crazy! I cannot stand Marmite and it is such a divider here in the Uk. Also, Beans on toast is the BEST!!! I could easily eat it every day!
Double decker is my favourite chocolate bar! I LOVE them😍😍😍😍
Let's go Isaac's hometown lol I love your videos so much
Bro should’ve bought cream eggs, same shape as the kinder egg, chocolate with gooey stuff inside SOOO GOOOD
The US has cream eggs, the only real difference is they are sold more seasonal than in the UK and are more like ours used to be
Toast spread with butter & marmite covered with baked beans and topped with loads of grated mature cheddar cheese- YUM ;)
Malt loaf with butter is one of my favourites.
In Australia we have strawberry and chocolate milk bottles as well.
Love the content and love Isaac.. Just surprised you didn’t get to try English Buscuits 😮 Especially with a cup of tea/Coffee?
I found kinder eggs at Dollar General. They still make them except the toy is outside of the chocolate now.
Double deckers have rice crispies, enveloped in chocolate topped in chewy nougat and covered in chocolate.
isaac brings a lot!!! so glad hes on the team!!
As a northerner, it’s nice to know you are too
Beans on toast is amazing!!
Beans on toast is amazing I have it every Sunday
You definitely need to come to the UK. Black pudding, haggis and proper Coleman's mustard.
Beans on toast..WONDERFUL !
The difference in beans is a real thing. Served with some Brits in Iraq, and I would tease them over the ketchup beans. When we had baked beans one night in the mess hall, they were flabbergasted. 🤣🤣
Andrew needs to open his palette more cause most of these sound amazing and wish I could try them all.
