- In this video, I I had a proper chinwag with Maaya-san, a young Japanese lady who recently embraced Islam. While many women usually convert due to their relationships with Muslim men, Maaya-san (along with an increasing number of women, it seems) didn't convert for that reason. I reached out to Maaya-san at the Japan Da'wah Centre, a cultural and Islamic center in Osaka, where I also had a natter with Zulkarnain Hasan Basri, the owner of the place and Chief Executive Officer of the Nippon Muslim Corporation.
Due to several requests, I've gone ahead and included subtitles in various languages, especially Arabic and Malay. Now, just a quick heads-up: since I'm not personally fluent in these languages, the subtitles were generated using Tool/Open AI software. I would say that as human beings we need to understand what's our purpose in this life, and the moment you start searching for the truth you'll find yourself gravitated toward Islam. May Alaah guide you toward this beautiful religion.

Just to clarify: Zakat, which is one of the five compulsory pillars in Islam, it is not mandatory to be given to a mosque directly, although can be done, rather it is best to find the poor people and give them directly, without making them feel lower than you, it is best to be given anonymously and also good to give unanonymously to encourage others to give too.

To be more clear, as far as i know, it can't be used by the mosque for it's own use, it is only collected by them to forward the money or food bought from that money to the needy people, the zakat money can't be used to build or pay for the mosque expense, but it is always better to ask a proper scholar who has more knowledge than non-scholar people like us.

I have many queries about Islam during my course in Japan in 1989. They want to know more about Islam and they are very friendly and respecting Islam. For instance , they would make available room for you to pray during study tour and excuse you from class to attend Friday prayer. Its take an hour to reach Islamic Centre . So there is a bright future for Islam to flourish in Japan. There is a lot of Islamic value already in Japanese society.

As an American Muslim, her story resonates with so many revets all over the world, a common reaction with family, food, and way of life.....
All of them became successful when they continually keep learning for their own sake and improvement, find company who also values the same goal to keep learning together....

I really love that Japan Da'wah incorporates Japanese culture. Islam is for everybody, so of course Japanese muslims also are free to maintain their culture in their lives (that doesn't oppose Islam guidelines).
Sometimes (or often?), other cultures override the new muslims cultures, so maybe the new muslims felt they lost their identity. When it doesn't need to be like that. Among the People of the Scripture, not all of them. Why the worst creatures? Because humans are one of creatures that have the brain to think, to study the truth. But if people of the Scripture, including muslim, who reject the truth after knewing the truth, are the worst of creatures of them all.
What you translated as “non-Muslims” is “latheena kafaroo” - which means “those who reject” (the faith). It certainly doesn’t refer to all non-Muslims, only those who know Islam is the truth but reject it (which is made even clearer by the name of the surah itself - called Bayyinah or “The clear sign”). There are clear examples of this from the time of the prophet (SAW):
Some of the polytheists of Arabia admitted in private that they knew Islam was the truth but were too proud to follow a religion that poor people and slaves followed, or too proud to follow Muhammad (SAW) because he was poor, an orphan or from another tribe.
Some of the Jewish religious leaders in Arabia looked down of Muhammad (SAW) because he could not read while they were scholars; others rejected him because they saw Arabs as inferior.
