Interesting video thank you! What goes into the decision to overboard? Is it budget or is it just easier? Is there any downside to leaving the lath up? (harder to put in downlights later?)
@@adamcornforth overboarding the ceiling is the only way to guarantee the longevity of the ceiling. This one in particular was ready to fall down. The mess involved with dropping the full ceiling is a major inconvenience not to mention disturbing possible asbestos in the artex is best avoided. The less damage caused the better installing downlighters is just a case of drilling the holes and running the cables so no preference where that is concerned.
