Part 1/5 Lifetime's biography on the great Madeline Kahn. Various family members and co workers share their memories on this wonderful person. Have your tissues ready.
One of the greatest comedic actresses of all time. Her timing and the ability to BE another person in the roles she played demand that she be rewarded. RIP. Gone WAY too soon.
She was my favorite female comedian. But Teri Garr was right up there with her!! They played so well off of each other on Young Frankenstein because they both had the most amazing ethereal quality and yet we could all say we need those girls.
I always looked forward to seeing her in a new movie. Sultry, seductive and beautifully funny. I also smiled when I heard Teri Garr was narrating this, love her too.
I need a bio pic she was so funny and her voice is iconic. I miss these kind of women. Gilda Radner x Madeline Kahn x Teri Garr. The 70’s were awesome.
Mel Brooks said of Madeline Khan. “Either as a stand-up comedienne, comic actress or anything else, you cannot beat Madeline Khan”. Mel Brooks was spot on correct and she left us far too young.
Trixie Delight in Paper Moon was the highlight of that movie. She was brilliant in everything and I was so saddened by the unexpected death of this incredibly fabulous one of a kind woman
Yesterday I was watching a documentary on the Horn and Hardart Automat on TCM, and they mentioned that they sponsored a Children's variety show called "The Children's Hour" (no, not the Audrey Hepburn-Shirley MacLaine movie). Even Mel Brooks was surprised to find that she was on that show. Now I want to find a clip of her there.
Its really an amazing thing, when you only know someone you have seen many times on film, and fall in love with her anew every time you see her! She must have been a very special person to know in person! I will always have a very special place in my heart, just for her!!
One of the funniest interviews was Kahn on the Tonight Show with Carson. He asked her if there was anything she was afraid of. She responded, in her famous dead pan style……’yes, I hate….hate…. balls coming at my face”. Carson lost it. The audience loved it, and Madeline never cracked a smile. She was amazingly funny. She died much too young.
Thank you SO much for this. I've been searching for this in its entirety for such a long time now. I'm grateful I recently bought stock in Kleenex because I have a feeling I'm gonna need it. >.
TERRI, I ❤YOUR ACTING AND FOLLOWED BOTH YOU AND MADELINE THROUGHOUT THE YEARS....YOUR MOVIES WERE AMAZING YOU BOTH WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. ...GOD BLESS YOU FOR FOR ALL THE YEARS OF LAUGHTER....A TRUE FAN.....R.I.P MADELINE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😇
Please, find and watch a short gem of an early film "La Duva" or "Il Duva" It is a short satire of Ingmar Bergman's movies. It is hilarious, and Kahn steals the show, as usual.
Craig Dillon thanks for that. It's up on RUclips at the moment. I'm a big fan of both Bergman and Madeline Kahn. Bergman has always been ripe for parody, but it's actually very good - and a worthwhile document for those who are interested in the trajectory of Madeline's career.
One year she was featured on a summer replacement show called "Comedy Tonight," or something similar. She invented a pre-Lili von Schutpp character called "Lotta Anguish" and sang a song with the chorus "We Ate Garbage." How I would love to hear that again.
Happy Birthday Madeline Kahn! You were so funny and so talented!!!!!!! I miss you!!!! I love all your films!!! I think that Gene Wilder was your perfect partner on film and that Mel Brooks should have let him play the professor in High Aniexty. Still you were great! I love your Lily Von Schtupp! One of the great great comedic performances of all time.
I adored her she was beautiful and she could make you laugh uncontrollably rest in peace dearest Madeline🌄🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤🎼 I wouldn't say I am the manliest man but I cried when she died I remember where I was
Ye Gods! why would a therapist ever suggest that a five year old should be sent away to boarding school. The poor lamb must have already felt rejected by her father and then by her mother...........shit parenting all round.
It's very possible Madeline's Mom went undiagnosed for most of Madeline's life, she lied & manipulated her daughter so much that it was impossible to see the root problem was her Mom.
u.n...can you imagine pushing your daughter to be a singing waitress? I wanted to become a hostess at a TGIF, when in college, but my dad told me to forget about it! He heard what men, who, went there, were saying about the waitresses and hostesses working there. I only realized that after I became an mature adult.
LOVED WATCHING HER ....SO FUNNY...NOBODY LIKE HER ....SUCH A TRAGIC LOSS...R.I.P. SWEET LADY....AND TO YOUR HUSBAND WHO TOOK CARE OF YOU AND LOVED YOU....GOD BLESS YOU😇❤🙏
Someone to look up to? Sounds like she is a good choice to think of. Is talent the product of need. Is any progress in any field not the result of need? Follow your dreams and your heart.

She was so beautiful along with her acting and comedic talent!
Talents and performers are a dime a dozen; theMiley’s, the Taylor’s, Madonna’s etc..
Maddy is an artist.
Yes she sure was! ❤
@@serrielu8025 👍 true so true

I have a deep love and appreciation for this woman. R.I.P.
You and me both...she was lovely and sexy...perhaps the most of her generation...actually there's no perhaps about it...

Madeline was an amazing talent, a force of nature. Thank you for posting
Force of nature! You said it! 🙂
we didn't deserve Madeline Kahn but we were graced by her.
I really liked her style. She was very attractive and simple, but yet talented and lively.
I always looked forward to seeing her in a new movie. Sultry, seductive and beautifully funny. I also smiled when I heard Teri Garr was narrating this, love her too.

She was a beautiful genius. RIP Madeline 🙏🏽
I always adored her and I still do.
What a tremendous loss RIP Madeline, what a wonderful woman, unique, timeless, beautiful, delicious
Mel Brooks said of Madeline Khan. “Either as a stand-up comedienne, comic actress or anything else, you cannot beat Madeline Khan”. Mel Brooks was spot on correct and she left us far too young.
What a lady she was and such talent. You scarcely see such people in this business nowadays. RIP
Some...now they're on Instagram! No talent required!
Now they are cross dressing, genderless, politically pandering d bags.
She was from that period when Hollywood actors could really act, and sing ,and dance and anything else required, a shame those talented days are lost.
Yes. Very lost. Now just political pandering no talents.
Awful isn't it
Indeed. I mean does Hollywood even exist at this point? I can't think of a recent movie besides those about cartoon super heroes....yawn.
There is only one word needed to describe Madeline Kahn ... UNFORGETTABLE!
Trixie Delight in Paper Moon was the highlight of that movie. She was brilliant in everything and I was so saddened by the unexpected death of this incredibly fabulous one of a kind woman
Madelin Kahn was such a delightful women. Terry Garr still is.

Love that Terri Garr does the narration.

Kahn was Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe and Mae West rolled into one. If you can imagine them rolling into one without getting obscene.
YES!!
One year she was featured on a summer replacement show called "Comedy Tonight," or something similar. She invented a pre-Lili von Schutpp character called "Lotta Anguish" and sang a song with the chorus "We Ate Garbage." How I would love to hear that again.
Madelin was pure comedy magic. She could take the most plain role and just leave the audience in stitches & wet britches!
Happy Birthday Madeline Kahn! You were so funny and so talented!!!!!!! I miss you!!!! I love all your films!!! So talented...i laugh so much in ..Frankenstein..and blazing ..of course
her unstabe parents and selfish mother helped enormously in gestating her creative drives.....
She may have inherited her talent from her Mom.
She was so amazing. I had a "monster" crush on Her. 😍😘
Great singer/actress. Lot of ppl don't
Know that. 😢😀😀😀
THANK YOU
Ovarian cancer is a scourge.
We need heavy research already on this insideous disease.
all cancer is a scourge
She would have been an amazing Judy Holliday for a biopic.
Ye Gods! why would a therapist ever suggest that a five year old should be sent away to boarding school. The poor lamb must have already felt rejected by her father and then by her mother...........shit parenting all round.

Sue...this i when women who had children with genetic problems, of all kinds would send these toddlers to special facilities - that was "s***"!
LOVED WATCHING HER ....SO FUNNY...NOBODY LIKE HER ....SUCH A TRAGIC LOSS...R.I.P. SWEET LADY....AND TO YOUR HUSBAND WHO TOOK CARE OF YOU AND LOVED YOU....GOD BLESS YOU😇❤🙏

It's not uncommon for children from broken homes to become great actors because they've been "acting" their entire lives.sad
I’m a Speech Therapist!
