Some years ago I wrote a book, Life, Sex and Prostate Cancer, on my experience with PC. I was 46 with a PSA of 6. Had the radical procedure (old school, no robotics) and all is well now. I was lucky to catch it so early.
Always articulate Neil & you explain & advise very well which has probably helped so many understand the condition ❤️🩹 You know as friends we are behind you & here for you 🤗 Your positive attitude will be a big help going forward & we wish you all the best for a successful outcome on your journey to complete recovery 💖❤️🩹xx
As always Anne you and Mr B have been there from the start for me. You know I very much appreciate both of yours support. Hopefully this vlogs will get out there also. Luv researching and making the vlogs. Thx again x
Hi Neil. Your journey is so similar to mine. I’m a 54 year old from Suffolk and I’ve just had a prostatectomy. I’m a few weeks away from having my first blood test since my operation. I am a bit apprehensive so the information you have shared has been so helpful. Keep up the good work.
I am 69yrs old in Chicago IL USA My dx was 24Apr2023 4+3=7 Gleason 3 positive biopsy samples I had 20 IMRT radiation in Aug&Sept Had 2 ADT Lupron June&Oct My PSA is now 0 My next follow up is next month May God bless you in your PCa journey as we all are in this together
James many thanks for taken the time to watch and comment. I've now gained 1012 subscribers which I'm chuffed to bits. I just want to be honest open in my videos. By doing this has helped me through my journey which by the looks of it hasn't finished. Appreciate your time mate
Neil, your videos have really helped me. I had a biopsy last Thursday and am waiting for the results. I’m working my way through your content. Perhaps a difficult topic to discuss, but I’d really appreciate it if you made a video about you know what - sexual performance (or lack of it) - following a prostatectomy. It would also be good if you could cover how this has affected your work/job. If you have covered these subjects in previous videos, kindly point me to them please. Cheers again Neil.
Cheers yellow, many thanks for your comment. It's hard to comment on your question because every person is different. It really does depends on nerve sparing. Because 1 of my tumours was on the edge he cut into the nerves a bit. My incontinence was fine after a month. The little man downstairs still asleep. Everyone will be different. I took 1 month of work you need to rest rest because you are in danger of getting a hernia if not. Please keep watching and working your way through the videos I'm sure I will answer a lot of questions on there. My email is neildavidson5959@btinternet.com if want to ask more questions. Cheers mate hope all goes well for ya
Thanks Neil for your honest confession and the experienced you going through. I subscribed your channel during the time you visited Timothy Dowd in Tenerife few months back. I live in Malaysia. I pray for your good health, especially related to a prostate issue.
I'm just now coming off of 2 years ADT (lupron with enzalutemide) and I have one piece of advice for you that I feel strongly about: if you are going on ADT begin a highly aggressive exercise program NOW. By "highly aggressive" I mean get into Schwarzenegger mode and really push the iron. Although fit going into ADT, over time I became increasingly debilitated to the point I am so crippled up that I can barely function. I gets worse over the course of the therapy. No one warned me so I'm warning you. Start NOW!
Neil I finished my radio therapy in February 2012 but still I have sweats through the day and night is there anything I can do to stop sweats I have tried sage tablets no change still get them
I've got Prostate Cancer.. I had Prostap3 and 37 sessions of External Beam radiotherapy in 2015… I'm still on some meds but I'm still here.. I make RUclips videos but I haven't actually made anything about prostate cancer. I do jokes and cars and music etc. But I have my channel so if I get worse, I might do a prostate cancer video.. I managed to avoid the surgery and just go for ADT and Radiotherapy.. Best Wishes, hope it goes ok..
@@neildavidson7768 I might but not yet. I try to ignore PC most of the time, I have lots of doctor and hospital appointments and tests and tablets and injections but I'm still doing ok after 9 years.
Neil, please push the NHS for "escalation" of your evaluation and management. I understand you're 53 years old. You apparently had Grade Group 4?? Here in the US, you would probably have a Decipher test (mine was 0.88). If any family history of prostate, breast, ovarian or pancreas cancer, you'd also have germline testing (no family history, but I have very rapid progression - CDKN2A and CDK12 positive). You may even have ultrasensitive-PSA testing (usually 3 decimal points for the results, and over $10,000 was charged for that blood test I had). Please understand that different labs will often report different results -- I had 3 labs give 3 results same blood draw one day. My RP was September 2020. 1st BCR treated 15 months later with RT and Orgovyx. 2nd BCR began 4 months ago, so I'm on Orgovyx and Xtandi. My PSADT was 3 months. There are some wonderful research programs on prostate cancer there in the UK that are "cutting edge" that you may ask about as a Clinical Trial. Good luck to you and all of us with this problem.
