I am 20% compensated for Retro Patella Pain Syndrome but I have been compensating with the other leg that has changed my walking gate and now I am diagnosed by a Pain Management Specialist with herniated disc at the L3/4 and the L5/S1 area with bone spurs and Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, unfortunately the VA is claiming that my back issues are not service connected. I throughly believe that I would not have these back issues if it were not for the compensation of the other leg. I am currently talking to a Law Office for appealing this decision. Also I was diagnosed with Left shoulder Tendinitis and had to have 3 level Cervical fusion in 2018 that one again they say is not service connected
I just had an open heart, triple bypass operation last week and wondered if I would get a higher rating than my current 60%. I'll be seeing a VA disability volunteer on Monday and will provide all the necessary medical documentation. I have PTSD from Vietnam and also Agent Orange. It seems my current heart failure could be connected to these two. Thanks for providing this critical service to the Veterans.
Thank you DAV. Helped me a lot I'm getting what my husband was entitled to, after he passed in 2016. His benefits went to 100%. Vietnam vet, Air Force. 🇺🇲
I went to a Board of veterans appeal, the DAV did nothing, I did all the talking, the judge had nothing of all the evidence I had sent to the evidence center, there's a lack of communication between the department, I know veterans almost deaf, and only getting 30 pct. My own brother who fought in Vietnam with the 173rd was denied he has zero pct hearing loss, he carried the M60 machine gun. Sometimes I wonder who are the dummies that grade our papers. And I also know national guards who never been but to boot camp, getting 50 pct hearing loss. Isxa messed up system
Well read this..I had a hearing after waiting 8 long years, service connected eye loss (totally blind in right eye) and TBI and my DAV rep showed up with nothing in hand for my evidence I gave to him earlier on in my case, and did not have anything to say in my case to the judge, he just sat there, i was devastated, I did all the talking and fighting for myself only to be denied my benefits because in the judge's decision later received in the mail he mentioned I had "No visibility" ( as in physical evidence, papers, doctor reports, former law cases etc.) to prove my case. Then covid hit and still waiting to hear from the VA on an appeal..i have no attorney...I pray 🙏 that other vets get better help than what I did not get with D.A.V. Also the VA puts off your case for years, thinking you'll probably die before they give you any benefits, and a lot do die..smh The United States will give countries who even hate us BILLIONS $$$$ of aid all over the world but deny us veterans any benefits at all, or only chicken feed for some that do. Sorry I ever served.
@@dazzlerpassage9182 True I have fought for all my benefits on my own, every time the DAV showed up if I ever got anything it was nickels and dimes. I did my own research, took cases they denied to other medical doctors etc etc.
I just wanted to say thank you and all the other Law Firms, and groups for all this free information you all share. It's truly invaluable to those like me who will listen and use it to get an increase in our disability claim. I just went from 20% for a few years, to 80% a month ago by listening to all the information you and various groups put out on RUclips. I hope and pray I don't have to retain one of these legal firms to get my back money they seem not to recognize they owe me. I have a C&P Exam Monday Dec. 9th 2019 for my Unemployability Claim. Please know your work and video's are not in vain. Thank you all again.
70% disability rating awarded aprox. 5 yrs ago. Short version - went to a county resources facility to use computer to update my resume. Was asked if I was a veteran, said yes then met with a VA rep who explained all svcs avail to me as part of orientation to facility. In 1990 got a hernia fixed after boot camp. It reinjured over the yrs & got me rejected at a job interview physical. This I had forgotten till I was asked if ever rejected for a job because of the hernia. (carpenter for 23 yrs). VA did another repair surgery which failed. They offered another, I declined. 1 1/2 yrs later I got an award letter. Free healthcare for life including any prescriptions plus a check every month which Im grateful to have. Ive found the VA to be extremely professional & always very respectful. Have had a few unrelated procedures done since & encountered competent professional medical staff (at all levels) at S.F. VA medical center every time.
You guys CLEARLY know your stuff. I really appreciate the time you take in educating us. TRUE LAWYERS, not just "coaches" I will definitly reach out to this firm very soon.
Has anyone looked into all of the shots we were given before we were deployed? The most common denominator to all the musculoskeletal injuries is the shots all were given before deployment.
If a vet needs to apply for disability i would recommend DAV as they were a great help to me. I would assume other veteran organizations would also do a great job for veterans but i only used DAV.
I suffer from most if not all of these problems. Have 100% disability what are things i should do, also have brain damage so hard for me to understand what i should do for it is getting harder for me to proceed because it causes me to have seizures when i do. I thank you for no one ever discussed these issues before. Now they want me to go through pact act. For i am lucky i am still here! I was taken to hospital in cambodia, when i was soaked with agent blue, jp4, diesel. But did not suffer from any cancers. At least i heal well for i also had encephalitis and spent almost a month in ICU, MY neurologist said i am their success story and i should be glad i am alive, i am glad i am not dead. There is a difference in quality of life. All true plus more!
I don't know how it would be classified, inner ear or whatever, but for my vertigo, falling, ear fullness, nausea, etc. my VA doctors diagnosed that I had Ménières Syndrome. For that I am taking "HCTZ" which helps lessen the "attacks." Anyway, the VBA rated Ménières Syndrome 100% P & T. Separately, I had the ubiquitous service-connected 10% tinnitus rating, and service connected hearing loss, rated at "0" percent.
I have been rated 90% since I retired from the Navy in 2007. Since then I acquired Meniere's, which forced me to retire early from my civilian career in Jan 2022. So did your Meniere's Syndrome result in a 100% disability rating permanently?
I enlisted in the Air Force in 1964 and trained as a an AGE Technician. By the way, the flight line ear protection back then must’ve been patented in 1920, 98% not effective( aged, hardened insulators. My biggest physical problem was that I caught the Polio virus at age 5. But I made a 95% recovery. I was left walking with my knees bent backwards when I walked. And because the polio chooses at random which muscles to paralyze makes things like in my case, my legs would completely fatigue while trying to run in basic training to a point of colapse.
I was awarded 10% I was declined for hearing loss. I was an airpoliceman staning guard on the flight line 8 hours a day around jet engine noise with no ear protection. I have also experienced vitigo.
Diagnosis, nexus dbq. My tinnitus started on active duty is constant and does not come and go and effects my life boom. Tinnitus is a easy claim if you having ringing in ear.
I was on a training carrier in 1992....we we overhauling the ship , I was in a harness chipping paint with a grinder, part of the sanding disc snapped off and got me in the knee.... sometime later I was taken off my ship for three months. Fast forward years later I have had surgery to repair a meniscus tear and had a lot of arthritis cleaned up.... I have been told that knee replacement is inevitable. Should I file a claim. I really have thought about this for years.... but as I get older I have trouble getting out of chairs and bending..... could absolutely never run after that.
I am an 81 year old Vietnam Vet. I was a radio operator. Everyone I worked with had hearing issues. Sixty years of tinnitus is a day and night reminder of the ultimate in stupidity. As an eighteen year old kid I was going into the service. My uncles and my father had all gone in the service. I was going in the service. My life long dilemma with tinnitus is certainly not unique. What disappoints me more than anything is the twenty, thirty and forty year old's that I worked with all knew we would leave the service with tinnitus. I'm sure most of them already had tinnitus. I would walk into our work station in Saigon and I could hear code people were copying twenty feet away. You can't put a sound device on your ears and turn up the volume and let it scream in your ears for eight hours and not damage your earing. My opinion. Do it for three years and you spend the rest of your life with tinnitus. Not one person mentioned hearing issues. Something is wrong here. There is a culprit. How is that culprit held responsible? You tell me!
I got cancer while in the Navy. I started seeing patterns and realized just about every base has a "cancer cluster" meaning people (servicemen/women & dependents) were affected. Pearl Harbor/Hickam has got 3 or more different cancers, thyroid being #1, Groton, CT had testicular cancer, etc. Has anyone looked into that? After I started getting treatment at NNMC I started receiving letters from NIH about "how are you doing?" Got those after i got out, too. Haven't gotten any since getting 100% disability thru the VA.
It was peace time when I broke my back in the Navy, see what a good job I did. It's been depressing not being able to get or keep a job based on that history
In Army sent home, in boot camp, got pneumonia, and damaged legs exercise called gorilla hop. We were the last group in boot camp to ever do the gorilla jop it was made illegal. Half our company at Fort Dix, NJ had damaged bones
I’ve not heard anything about asbestos exposure which I’ve been recently diagnosed with from being stationed on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War.
In Navy, was grinding paint off side of ship, lost ship to shore power, grinder got stuck in side of ship? When power came back on, I was pulling on grinder to get it dislodged, it went into my leg severing it, Corman fixed the leg. Ship said it happened on my leisure time? Case denied.
As George said, if you aren’t contacting the DVA or CCK, law firm who made this and a whole library of other videos, then you are doing yourself a disservice.
So i had my left knee replace 06/2022, and when i go my new rating, they dropped the % on the right knee to keep me under 100%! There was no procedure done on the right knee. They also denied my back, and hip conditions that should of been connected as secondary to the knee problems from the major limp i had and messed all that up. Plus denied my PTSD when i had a traumatic fall in boot camp, which ended my career and life- long dream. i am now at 90%, but i also have paperwork in from a increase, and unemployability, plus SSi claim. Pending the decision ,i may be in touch SOON !
I have nocturnal seizures so when I lived on the ship I fell off my rack & when I was moved to the barracks I was having them but I just thought it was the migraines & id wake up sore as if I had been working out or something. Until I got out & my family recorded me having them in my sleep & up to 4 in one day. All I ever remember are some flashbacks & waking up. It’s scary
Mr. Lostritto, I had hear you at other two videos , and allways you have important information to my rate of serv. conect. I am intrested to have a talk with you , a point is I am from P. R. and I noticed you talk about anywhere !!! Very imortant word for me . 😢
If the VA gave a rating for hearing loss, then tell you to get a particular test that is not know to audiologist in the VA system or civilian sector. Then the VA has you get another C&P for hearing and determine that your hearing improved and reduces your rating. During the C&P the audiologist gives you the list of words to repeat because you can't hear the words said to you. How can a person's hearing get better?
Well, the Gulf War era extends to at least 2002. I enlisted in 2001 and left service in 2019. I am considered a Gulf War vet, despite serving primarily in the OIF/OEF era.
I have been denied two times for my lower back and have been fighting for a long time. I finally had to hire a lawyer. This is bull crap due to the fact the VA hospital took an x-ray a week after I returned from annual traning with the reserves. It showed an issue and I was given PT. But the VA still says it’s not enough. The VA radiologist put down that I had narrowing of S1-L5 with a possible abnormality or variant. Many years later I finally had a private doctor do a MRI and it showed bulging disks. I filed again for my back and the VA denied me again saying it’s not service connected. I’m upset. I had 3 lay statements but that still didn’t work.
I've been fighting virtually the same thing for almost 50 years now well since 1974 I have had pain in my lower back and my neck between my shoulder blades all that time yeah everytime I file a claim it's automatically denied. However I did find out many years later the VA rated me for PTSD and put me in a special category where they rate nothing else oh, since that time my tinnitus my hearing loss my lower back injury and everything else has been denied
When I got out of the Military I filled for disability for a back I injury that happened while on active duty. And it was turned down. But I filed again. A little time past ,but my condition started to fliar up severely. I had problems trying to hold down jobs. I also had severe stomach problems along with server depression. I filed again and was awarded nonservice connect because i had to stop work. I recueive benefits while in Martinsburg VA hospital for homelessness and back problems in around 2005 -6 . While there I had to recieve shots in my back. Later when back here in Baltimore some years later i was diagnosed with syatic lower left back pain. Since then I've been experiencing serious problems all through out my left hip, leg, nee and anchor. Three are times I've not been able get out of bed. Depression, tress, and anxiety had set in which caused me to go Social Security that I am steal presently on. I work at to VA here in Baltimore now where I am steal being treated for all the above. I was discharged back in 1973 April and steal today I'm walking with a lamp which I get worse as I walk. For years I treated myself with alcohol and drugs just to keep working from the time I got out of the military. But received treatment at theVA many times, and now been totally clean and sober since December 1992. Still taking lots of meds and working through VA. But need help filling for disability again. All records are in the VA system.
I have just received a denial for a higher level review that my claim is not service connected.i have documented service injury from the 70s this has been 5 years chasing this dog, I have orthopedic Dr diognostic , and incomplete med record, from the Navy it’s been very long battle.,The VA said the had made a mistake, but don’t explain what it was.....What to do
Good information. Thank you. I have a 40% back condition based upon ROM. Is it possible to also be granted a separate award for osteoarthritis of the spine on a new claim?
yes, and all radiculopathy to your legs as Secondary....sciatica nerve to both legs, tinkling, numbness....claim them all.....never give up and appeal if denied...
If it’s Cervical spine then range of motion is huge the main thing is flexion meaning bending your head forward. I could only move mine 20 percent but if I couldn’t move it forward more than 15 percent then I could have gotten a 30% rating for cspine arthritis
@Michael. we are glad you found the information helpful. Generally speaking, A secondary service-connected disability is a disability that resulted from a condition that is already service-connected. For more information, our blog may be able to help you. cck-law.com/blog/what-is-a-secondary-service-connected-disability/
After returning from Iraq in 2004, I was awarded 80% disabled by the VA. Those being 90% orthopedic in nature. In 2009 I claimed deterioration and walking problems in both knees. I received a zero disability for that claim. In 2019 I had knee joint replacement of the left knee. Currently to date, findings of deteriorating of the right knee is on going. Also, I have been diagnosis with Rheumatoid/Psoriatic Arthritis, have lost 40% of hand dexterity due to crippling deformation the joints of the hands. My question is, is it worthy to claim 100% disability?
OMG ABSOLUTELY!! There are a large number of benefits given, not just by the VA, but also by the state and I think federal gov. 1. You AND YOUR FAMILY are granted free health care. Depending on your state, you don’t have to pay for property taxes, nor vehicle registration fees. Handicap plates for your vehicles... for starters.
My BVA-remanded appeal was mishandled by the VARO. They were directed to roll my new MH SC - which they failed to adjudicate at all - & my open TDIU appeal together, or return to BVA if denied. They only readjudicated the SC issues (70%) and apparently ignored the TDIU appeal. I'm still awaiting the packet, but does it seem likely they're working on it & I should just be patient, or is another appeal going to be needed? Probably worth noting that the TDIU claim alleges 40-year CUE, which the C&P doc acknowledged. I'm represented by DAV.
I am 40% service connected disabled vet from injuries suffered during the Vietnam Conflict...several years ago my lower back severely spasmed which is part of my disability...I fell and fractured my back from t-8 to t-11...I also ruptured an existing umbilical hernia which required emergency surgery along with months if rehab for my fractured back....since this happened I have not been able to take care of myself for my daily care like cooking, grocery shopping etc...Because of this I had to move in with my sister and brother to take care of me...can I ask the va to help me..
@KennethOakes, Were sorry to hear about your injuries. If you feel your VA rating is no longer sufficient you may be able to file for an increased rating. Our blog has more information on this. cck-law.com/veterans-law/how-do-i-increase-my-va-disability-rating/
Yes...go get ALL you can get!! We earned it. Just had my C&P exam last week for PTSD...should have filed years ago, I got out of the Navy in 1999 from active duty..been cheating myself all these years..but late is better than never. So yes..GO FOR ALL YOU CAN SIR!! and GOOD LUCK!! #😷✌⚓
I'm a 90% SC Disabled Veteran & I just went through my 2nd C&P Exam for tinnitus, and once again requesting bilateral hearing lost from years ago, along the way I refiled and asked for a increase for my 10% "Tinnitus" & any kind of + rating for my Zero % "Bilateral Hearing Lost" among other disabilities. My Tinnitus is constant high pitch ringing in both ears (my left ear ringing is worse, and the right side is just a tad behind the pitch of the left side) regardless, its like a whistle being blown continuously "high pitch" in both ears at the same time, it never stops, its 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I agree with Mr Ronald Mead regarding the sound proof room hearing test set up, its a 6 X 6 ft "sound proof hard wired room". I mean no offense to the fine Dr's who perform this test on us, but the test is rigged, it no way indicates the Veterans "hearing lost" or does it show how our hearing lost effects our memory, temperament, and other health related issues such as balance. I submit I am sometimes angry as I cannot have a normal conversation with anyone unless its one on one and within 4 to 6 ft of conversation range. And there can definitely "cannot be" any other background noise. So my question is this, just "how is it, the VA" can justify 10% lost for tinnitus "but" nothing for Bilateral Hearing Lost? I see you went to lot of trouble to make this video and I salute you and thank you for putting this video together. You are right, we Veterans cannot ever give up, keep calling and submitting claims and working those appeals. I cannot believe all the years of testing and hardships I have personally seen and heard of, regarding all the suffering of what our people go through. However I do believe sometimes it does get better no matter how long we have to wait or the hardships we must endure. God Bless our Military, our family's, our Veterans and all of those at the VAMC and its support agencies.
They gave me 30% my situation I had hearing /eyesight loss before service and it got worse after I got out and was not aware of the missed benefits until the age of seventy. I fitted the McNamara boy. Just hoping that I don't have to go trough a rating change.
I have gone through the same thing with my tinnitus and hearing loss. The VA says my hearing is only off by 3% yet they sent me to an outside audiologist and that audiologist confirmed that I have a 50% hearing loss in both ears oh, and I have tinnitus and like you I cannot have a normal conversation with anyone unless it's one-on-one with no background noise it gets very frustrating and depressing. When I file my claim for tinnitus it was denied oh, my hearing claim was also denied
I was cut off in my comments. I have 10% disability rating for hearing loss and 10% for Tinnitus but only for the last 2 years. These disability occurred between 1964 to 1967 when I was in the Navy on a diesel powered Destroyer Escort. Now the VA only wants to compensate for the last 2 years , not from 1964 to 1967 ?
20:38 do you have any guidance that can help elaborate for the vague and subjective terminology in the 38CFR regarding what constitutes “mild, moderate, severe” for nerve related issues (sciatica and Radiculopathy)? Any examples you may have of what symptoms would fall into which categories would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much!
Please reply i never claim this from my mos to sick call during in the service truck utilities tail gates, and trying to get relocated to my mom with out side lawyers while i was rejected for a transfer i lost it mentally but i really didnt want to lieve while i was in the service 1972 ,1975 vietnam error. Mother was alone now she gone she lost my brother in south vietnam and i couldn't help my mom didnt want to have these documents in my care no transfer no hope plus i have problems with my toes n back from rejections and not to mention diabetic while i was in the services no explanation going back home with a general dis- charge. Back to puerto rico year 1975 with no percent claim .now l'm 69 years old zero percent with complications lousy i gave up trying with all rejection. depression and mentally from times to take this to another level .00percentage.no luck now stood after lieving with complication health, back Lumbar ,toes Etc, . help is call help our Veterans.🙏🙏👋Veteran William Galindez Robles stay strong Veterans stay with god our savior ask and it will be giving with quality times with him in your own way pray for others as well day n nigths our lord ..love you.Amen
I am very familiar with a case with arthritis in the lumbar. The veteran was given 30% for pain and lost of range of motion. There was a record of a moderately painful but not huge injury at the time. Having it in the service record helped case significantly.
I'm taking a friend to county veterans affairs for diagnosis of deep ep vein thromboses requiring surgery next month. How can he contribute this to 10 year of Army PT (running in combat boots on asphalt). I am 70% TDIU for other conditions but want to help him get the rating he deserves.
What if you have a letter from your VA medical provider stating you’re disability is service connect , would this be helpful and how much weight would this give the decision makers
My husband served in Vietnam from 1966-68. VA paid him for prostate cancer 100% rate for about 3 years and downrated to 20% due to improvement and had 10% for hearing loss. He died in Jan 2020 but as his serving wife, I filed for his colon cancer, bladder cancer, and denied before the PACT act. I later went back in 2022 to file on colon cancer and bladder cancer. Do you think I will get the 5 months of his existence with the illness paid? I later find out that HBP is covered. He was always treated by the VA for HBP. Can I file under the pact act for HBP?
If I missed it you didn't address Sleep Apnea. My husband was security police in USAF and worked shifts for years. What can he do through the VA system?
I was at Lejeune for four consecutive months in 1969. I’ve hadOpen Heart, a breast removed and Multiple Myeloma. I have many more issues connected as well
Denied Twice for Asbestos of Lungs. Have CA CT Scan on Disc which shows just Pleural Plaques of Both Lungs and No.Cancer..I have cOPD, Ashma, and Chronic Cough I need some Guidance
@John, sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Our blog on COPD ratings and how to prove them may help you: cck-law.com/blog/va-disability-ratings-for-copd/
When I did my PHA 2 months prior to deployment to Iraq, I was not diagnosed nor did I have any medical condition to stop me from deploying. I returned from Iraq in June of 08, August of the same year I went to a PHA. When I left that day I was told that I have Diabetes, and began treatment for that the following month. Will I be able to file on this for my disability claim. Also will I be able to claim Sleep Apnea. I have been tested and have the paperwork showing that I have a very serious case of sleep apnea. My document says that my breathing drops way below the normal level. Thank you for what y'all do to help tell us Veterans
Please help me I was injured right after basic training and could no longer continue my mom's and was offered a medical discharge but no percentage rating applied
I was denied for thyroid cancer. I was taking thyroid pills before going into the service,.the VA judge told me the intake doctor should have done testing on the issue to verify the diagnosis. I've had 2 surgeries.1st surgery found the papillary carcinoma. The second surgery took out the other half and VA doctor said I no longer have that type of cancer. The denial of my claim reason is that I cancer before I went into the service. I don't udererstand that. I told the military doctor about took my telling them about the thyroid medicine I was taking. The military doctor found the nodule on my thyroid. Years later the thyroid cancer was found. I didn't have the money to go to outside doctor to help me fight it. I was wondering if this is something your lawyers could look at this. I'm also a McClellan 1973 bootcamp veteran.
Thyroid cancer has nothing to do with taking thyroid pills. Plenty of ppl are hypothyroid or have Hashimoto's disease and require thyroid hormone medication. That does not automatically create thyroid cancer! You need to a diff evaluator cuz that's BS they told you. I'm sorry to hear this!
Hello! To learn more about the VA, check out our playlist on our channel called "How the VA Works" here: ruclips.net/p/PLSajqDYXJZLNMdf6yo8uBS8fEq0069ow2&si=lYraEWfLqUZyYOk- Have a great day!
what i cannot understand, where does the OIF/OEF veterans play apart in these benefits. I noticed their isn't much info talked about Kuwait/Iraq/Afghanistan areas.
Yeah my name is Danny long of Corpus Christi Texas I'm a Vietnam vet I got a bone spur on mine and I got deterioration of the lower lumbar on my spine I haven't been diagnosed for agent orange but you think that could be a cause for major Orange
Hi Mr. Harring, Veterans cannot be directly service-connected for alcoholism; however, they can be service-connected on a secondary basis for conditions that arise from alcoholism, if the alcoholism is due to a service-connected condition. There is more about this on our blog here: cck-law.com/blog/va-disability-and-alcoholism/
Well my husband has been suffering for years on nerves on his neck and back.and his service connected. Yes, his 90%, but been suffering for years has done everything to evaluation and gets denied to be permanent disabled. Now as we speak his waited for surgery. He was in the military in 1979 and was hurt while in the service. He was honorable discharge. Just have alot of questions for my husband. What do you think he needs to do to become 100% Permanent disability?
Hear test is kind of a riged test. You are put in a sound proof booth and have to listen to low tones. It is not a real test as I do not listen to people talking in a sound proof booth. A lot of time at home I can not hear the wife talking to me across the room. All I hear is the ringing in my ear but yet the VA says I have some loss but not enough. I worked on aircraft and was exposide to jet fuel which causes a person to get words mixed up. I hear the wife says she wants to do something with the hat and when I ask her she says she was talking about the cat. The VA does not reconized this either. It is hard to get anything for hearing loss.
True, I'm a 90% SC disabled Veteran & I just went through my 2nd C&P Exam of 8 to 9 years where I asked for a increase for my 10% "Tinnitus" & any kind of rating for my Zero % "Bilateral Hearing Lost". My Tinnitus is constant high pitch ringing in both ears (my left ear ringing is worse, and the right side is just a tad behind the pitch of the left side) regardless, its like a whistle being blown continuously "high pitch" in both my ears at the same time, it never stops, its 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I agree with Mr Ronald Mead regarding the sound proof room hearing test set up, its a 6 X 6 ft "sound proof hard wired room". I mean no offense to the fine Dr's who perform this test on us, but the test is rigged, it no way indicates the Veterans hearing "capacity lost" or how our hearing lost effects our memory, temperament and or balance. I submit I am sometimes angry as I cannot have a normal conversation with anyone unless its one on one and within 4 to 6 ft of conversation range. And there can definitely "cannot be" any other background noise. So my question is this, just "how is it the VA" can justify 10% lost for tinnitus "but" nothing for Bilateral Hearing Lost? I cannot get any compensation because I did not serve one day in war I have severe neuropathy in my feet and hands and I've also had a heart attack which comes from When I was in the service
I have a disability since 1981 and they reduced it 2020 from 40% to 30% the surgery they did to correct my hand failed now with servers tendinitis they only increase it to 50% does the 5,10 ,20 and 55 year rule apply and what can I do
I am unable to help myself, I am overwhelmed! I have tried to file claims on my own with a little help from lackluster VSO from the american legion . At best I am at the low end of average intelligence. I have had multiple head injuries and I am 64 years old. I am experiencing cognitive decline and PTSD!!! I do not know what to do. VA insider (may) be some help at a cost. Hill and Ponton seems to be a safer bet. I really need this VA increase as I can not work for much longer as my mental and physical health has gone. I can not take this much longer! I need help and guidance ASAP! PLEASE.
Speak to a lawyer
Great information with good details.
NICE!!!!!
You hack slug. Enjoy your early hack retirement. Never mind thanking the Law firms. You need to be thanking we tax payer suckers.
They seem to but there are 👎 dislikes posted. Would like to hear if it's because they took money but vet wasn't represented right.
Iam 100pecent disability I can not work or I can't drive
For PTSD they can file a VA form 21-0781 and a Statement of Supporting Claim. On a VA form 21-3148
Your Video is very clear and Concise. Thank you for helping Vets get thru the "Red Tape".
I did reach out to DAV to help me with filing and appeal but they turned me down
I suffer from most if not all of these problems.
Thank you for enlightening us with your videos and advocating for veterans. God bless
Ty yes my doc said my hearing is bad but v.a. saw otherwise...still gonna refile and refile etc...keep fighting my vet bros and sisters in arms..
Thanks for freely sharing this most useful info, it is greatly appreciated
I'm New to your videos, they are very informative thank you for the service
Thank you for the kind words, Mr. Holmgren!
I don't know how it would be classified, inner ear or whatever, but for my vertigo, falling, ear fullness, nausea, etc. my VA doctors diagnosed that I had Ménières Syndrome. For that I am taking "HCTZ" which helps lessen the "attacks."
Anyway, the VBA rated Ménières Syndrome 100% P & T.
I was awarded 10%
I was declined for hearing loss. I was an airpoliceman staning guard on the flight line 8 hours a day around jet engine noise with no ear
protection.
I have also experienced vitigo.
Diagnosis, nexus dbq. My tinnitus started on active duty is constant and does not come and go and effects my life boom. Tinnitus is a easy claim if you having ringing in ear.
Thank you very much for the video!
Can an ex- wife get bènefits from a veterans is deceased
Good job you three. Good info for us. Pls keep up the info. We just got the info through your VA site. We will keep up listening. Tx. JL
As an eighteen year old
kid I was going into the service.
Very informative.
I did not know about the Migraine. Terrible migraines during service.
Thanks for caring
It was peace time when I broke my back in the Navy, see what a good job I did. It's been depressing not being able to get or keep a job based on that history
In Army sent home, in boot camp, got pneumonia, and damaged legs exercise called gorilla hop. We were the last group in boot camp to ever do the gorilla jop it was made illegal. Half our company at Fort Dix, NJ had damaged bones
Wow , I served at Ft. Dix and was sexually assaulted and my reporting it went on deaf ears. That place was horrible .
I’ve not heard anything about asbestos exposure which I’ve been recently diagnosed with from being stationed on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War.
What was your rating?
I’ve received a 60% disability rating for lung nodules and COPD .
I was an HT in the Navy during Vietnam and exposed to asbestos and welding fumes
My husband is a Korean Veteran. He only has 30% rating for hearing. He had other conditions from combat. He keeps getting denied. We need help.

Hearing aid
How long does the BVA judge hast to make a decision after hearing
Well, the Gulf War era extends to at least 2002. I enlisted in 2001 and left service in 2019. I am considered a Gulf War vet, despite serving primarily in the OIF/OEF era.
Oif/oef is still considered gulf war
My wife and I have applied for help for her for taking care of me for 3 yrs.
Should’ve been 100% AUTOMATICALLY simply for being deployed. Period. I pray for you and for 100% rating. 🙏🏿
So what can I do?
Go for it, the process really stinks.
You can get you a home care giver from the VA or SSA
va said I need a hearing aid, I have trouble speaking, and I get dizzy I am 77 years old do I need to try for 10%
Yes...go get ALL you can get!! #😷✌⚓
Thank You Very informative Wm D Bowman VN Vet
My husband has been a psychiatrist at the VA for years without any rating.
10% is the max you can get for tinnitus . But you can claim MANY issues secondary due to tinnitus . Good luck
@@jimthornsbury9205 file a secondary for depression average 50
Well stated and helpful
Thank you for your very informative video. What is typically the disability rating for Lumbar and Cervical Issues?
If you have a letter from a VA provider stating your issue is service connected, you should frame and insure that document.
Hi Beth, we have a blog post here regarding Sleep Apnea that may help: cck-law.com/blog/how-does-va-rate-sleep-apnea/
I had a bladder removed from bladder cancer.I was stationed at Lejuene during Vietnam which was caused from contaminants in the water
I was at Lejeune for four consecutive months in 1969. I’ve hadOpen Heart, a breast removed and Multiple Myeloma. I have many more issues connected as well

@John, sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Our blog on COPD ratings and how to prove them may help you: cck-law.com/blog/va-disability-ratings-for-copd/
I’m a veteran and I have never been rated at all, can you give me help with this
Thank y'all for the info
I’m a air force vet (1985-1989), was Security Police, guarded air craft among other things. Was diagnosed w CIDP in 2017..can I get compensation?
I hear you. You are cool for helping .
I was burned in a fire while on active duty in 1985, I applied for service connected injuries & was given 0%...I need help.
1:45 pm I need help with the price of assisted living! It is soo expensive! I am 100%. Service connected, what can I do?
How do I get help for things like knees, shoulders and problems with arthritis
@ David sims, if you believe your diabetes and sleep apnea is service-connected, we encourage you to file a claim with VA!
Please help me I was injured right after basic training and could no longer continue my mom's and was offered a medical discharge but no percentage rating applied
Question: Already 90% but unemployable and receiving 100% compensation, how I get this change to 100% permanent?
I was denied for ptsd and camp Lejeune issues. Who should I contact?
I got high cholesterol after I was in the service. Can I claim it because I'd been taking Lipitor since early 1980s.
I would like to know more about the VA 😅

Yeah my name is Danny long of Corpus Christi Texas I'm a Vietnam vet I got a bone spur on mine and I got deterioration of the lower lumbar on my spine I haven't been diagnosed for agent orange but you think that could be a cause for major Orange
I have both ankle and hearing lost and both n Knees . Man its hurt..
I had to go to the hospital for a problem with alcohol after I was discharged from the Army. Can this be rated.
Hi Mr. Harring,
Veterans cannot be directly service-connected for alcoholism; however, they can be service-connected on a secondary basis for conditions that arise from alcoholism, if the alcoholism is due to a service-connected condition.
What do you think he needs to do to become 100% Permanent disability?

can we get discharge papers changed dd form 257a
Hear test is kind of a riged test.
I see you went to lot of trouble to make this video and I salute you and thank you for putting this video together. You are right, we Veterans cannot ever give up, keep calling and submitting claims and working those appeals. I cannot believe all the years of testing and hardships I have personally seen and heard of, regarding all the suffering of what our people go through. However I do believe sometimes it does get better no matter how long we have to wait or the hardships we must endure. God Bless our Military, our family's, our Veterans and all of those at the VAMC and its support agencies.
Get psychological, then secondary documented medical evidence CFR 38 with medical evidence for the win
I have bipolar disorder and sleep apnea could either of those issues potentially get me disability?
@kensheeler, if you believe either of the issues are service-connected, we encourage you to file a claim with VA.
I’ve been out a long time, and 60% for back. I’ve had ringing in ear for a long time but never thought about Tinnitus-is it too late to submit claim?
No never go to appointments and get diagnosed and put a new claim in… good luck

I am unable to help myself, I am overwhelmed! I have tried to file claims on my own with a little help from lackluster VSO from the american legion . At best I am at the low end of average intelligence. I have had multiple head injuries and I am 64 years old. I am experiencing cognitive decline and PTSD!!! I do not know what to do. VA insider (may) be some help at a cost. Hill and Ponton seems to be a safer bet. I really need this VA increase as I can not work for much longer as my mental and physical health has gone. I can not take this much longer! I need help and guidance ASAP! PLEASE.
What must I do to get a rating for hearing loss
