I have a par three on my land with three sand traps, one is a revetted bunker. I built it in 2016 it looks like the first one in the video. This year 2020 I am having to do the first repairs on the face as well as remove and replace some of the sand. I was hoping your video was going to show you building one at Ohio State. Mine has always had great drainage, I am not having to repair any of it. I used fine crushed gravel packed down hard. The liner I used, however, I have had problems with (I am on a small budget of a VA disability pay) I used a mesh that is supposed to keep weeds out. It does keep the sand and gravel apart but it tends to creep up from the sand even with metal staples pining it down.
You can find plenty of videos on this but just use the artificial piece, far cheaper and looks the same. It honestly a waste of money when those traps need to be fixed every couple years or so
