Hello DISA crew. We liked to see your video, it even did hurt me to hear the scratching at the end, because i know how it feels. We also have an Amel (santorin) with only 2 slots in the profile, and crossed the atlantic 2 month ago with our ballooner and genoa, that we can reef. Look at the youtube video "dolphin downwind sailing twin sails". This setup is even more comfortable as the 3 slot solution from Amel (once you have it optimised). Best regards from the sy-Maat crew Trudi and Arno

Hello Trudi and Arno. Thank you SO much for sharing this information. We watched the video today and Darrol was so excited to see how it could be done with two slots. We are also in the Caribbean now, currently in Antigua. Where are you? We would love to get together and discuss this further.

Hello Paul. We are WAAAY behind in our video uploads... we've spent the season in the Caribbean and now preparing to cross the North Atlantic to UK, via Azores. It's great to hear from you again!

@@svdisa I am sure you have had an awesome time in the Caribbean. Living the dream! I wish you kind winds on sailing back across the North Atlantic.

Mizzen will not do much as just shadowing the Genoa, so not needed. However some people like to have it centred to help reduce rolling.

Thanks Jay. We use our mizzen a lot - it seems to be so versatile and it definitely keeps the boat more stable. But we noticed on other downwind videos that the mizzen was not used.

To get the balooner down without it going in the water, turn towards the wind on the side of the balooner. Sheet in the Genoa and then let the balooner lie on the Genoa

That's a great video about dousing the ballooner. We can't wait to have another go... but at the moment we're short of one jockey pole (+end bits) that was lost when crossing the Atlantic.

All those ropes and pulleys to learn, quite frightening to a non sailor like myself. Still, I would rather be on your boat than that huge Cruise liner.
