same here! I mean some of the books overlap but not as many as other booktubers I watch BUT I just love the way she talks about books! Even if I'm not going to personally read most of them, I still love hearing about all the other stories that are out there and why others enjoy them. And ya never know.. we could find a new favorite that may not have even been on our radar 😊
Same but she’s descriptive enough about what she likes and dosnt like so even when she dosnt like a book I will sometimes add it to my tbr because I like thinks she dosnt like (fame, cults, etc)
This is my favorite series you do! I’d love to see a follow up reaction video to get an update on which books you ended up picking up/ didn’t and if you felt like the synopsis and cover represented the book well
I concur!! Obviously to an extent we can kind of do it ourselves in that we pay attention to this list and the books she reads along the way but I really like the idea of talking about the synopsis and covers also.
I love when you do these videos, there are always some you find that I now need to add to my TBR!! Plus I just always enjoy hearing about upcoming books and excitement!
I am so excited about more Rachel Harrison.. Bad Dolls and The Return are some of my favorite books and even though I gave Cackle 4 stars I can’t stop thinking about it. I still need to read Such Sharp Teeth, but she’s easily one of my favorite authors
if it makes a difference, I've read Starling House already and it's my favorite book of the year so far! it has fantastic southern gothic/dark fairy tale vibes.
I never thought I'll read T. Kingfisher but it's the first time I stumble upon any form of northern Spanish folklore from outside Spain, I'm very intrigued!
So many books here I'm also excited about. I didn't know Wendy Wagner had another book coming out!! Her novella The Secret Skin I loved so I will be devouring it. She captures the essence of Oregon so well.
Great list as always! I hate that the ones I'm most intrigued by are the furthest away. Even though we have so little information, The Creek Girl and Lost Ark Dreaming both sound so good!
So glad to hear about Hildur Knutsdottir 🙌 I've read one of her duology (Sanglant hiver and Dernier hiver for the francophones over here), I don't know if it's been published in english but it was so good 👌 it's about monsters invading Iceland and it was creepy and scary. I can't wait to read The night guest ✨
I’m so excited to read The Night Guest. I would love to read that duology too, sounds nuts and scary, but I don’t think it’s also published in English! Ahhh
@@theyingyang13 This is so weird, the duology that I read was only translated in French and Czech (which sounds so random) but I don’t think that her other books were translated (or it’s not on Goodreads at least). I hope that The Night Guest will be successful enough to motivate publishing houses to translate Hildur’s other books🤞
Seeing you talk about Peter Swanson’s new book being a novella made me want to know your novella recomendations! I hope you make a video about that one day❤
I was fortunate enough to get to read Happiness Falls from NetGalley ( my April read for emotions!) and it was so good. I think anyone who liked Miracle Creek will like it too.
Wow, so many books too little time. Some of those covers are just amazing. I'm looking forward to the new books by R.F. Kuang, Daniel Kalla, Peter S Beagle, Ruth Ware, Rachel Lynn Solomon, Lisa Jewell, Alice Hoffman, Kingfisher, Mazey Eddings, Emma Donoghue, Mona Awad, Ashley Herring Blake, and Melanie Golding.
OH NO! "The Night Guest" sounds eerily similar to the novel I started last Nanowrimo! Except I didn't use the step counter and my protagonist is younger. Dang....
There are so many that I have added to my tbr. I am a sucker for murder and mayham during Christmas. I love watching fall and Christmas Hallmark movies but give me death and distruction in my reading.
Edit: it’s If living is seeing I’m holding my breath by Sunny Moraine. It was in Come Join Us By the Fire S2. I gave it 5 stars. Looks like they decided to make it into a book. Your shadow half remains reminds me of a story I read already. I can’t remember the name or collection but there’s this like plague that sweeps the nation where people can’t see each other and have to blindfold themselves and she befriends this other guy. I think they decide to take their blindfolds off at the end. It was a pretty good story
Wait, so you designed a cover featuring dice on the dashboard, and the actual title for the new Finlay is Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. How? 🤯 I am in awe!
interested in the Alicia Elliot book! i read A Mind Spread Out on the Ground last month but it’s a memoir. but Alicia is a creative writer so i’m excited to read fiction by her!
I would love to know where to find the announcements for book releases. If i want to look for myself i jus find the goodreads lists or the lists of some bloggers, and there are mostly the books that interest me missing
I would love to hear what you think about The Luminous Dead, Caitlin Starling's other book. It's sci fi horror but it takes place underground and it has queer characters. ❤
Not sure if you care about things like this but a kpop idol name Lily from a group named NMIXX shouted you out. She said you were her favorite “booktuber”. She said it on an app where she can message her fans called bubble.
Most of our reading tastes don't align, but I just love the way Kayla talks about books.
Added 4 to my TBR from this list! Thanks for sharing!

same, i don't read thriller, horror or mystery and yet, here i am, haha.

@@whitneyhendrix8075 yep that too!
I get a lot of book recommendations from these videos. Thank you for making them

Some of these covers are gorgeous 💚 i feel like they are more creative than what we’ve seen in the past few years
I love when you do these videos, there are always some you find that I now need to add to my TBR!! Plus I just always enjoy hearing about upcoming books and excitement!

I read Moon of the Crusted Snow for one of my classes and even wrote a paper on it. I love that book so much ❤️ SO COOL that there will be a sequel!!!
if it makes a difference, I've read Starling House already and it's my favorite book of the year so far! it has fantastic southern gothic/dark fairy tale vibes.
Ooo that sounds amazing!! Gothic fairytale 🎉
I agree about the “last to leave the room” cover 😂 it reminds me of a James Patterson cover which isn’t a bad thing necessarily but i don’t love it
I never thought I'll read T. Kingfisher but it's the first time I stumble upon any form of northern Spanish folklore from outside Spain, I'm very intrigued!
The covers for most of those books were stunning!!!
I love when you talk about upcoming books. I find out about so many books!
I’m not a horror girlie at all and yet I’ve added The Night Guest to my list because it sounds so interesting 😀
So many books here I'm also excited about. I didn't know Wendy Wagner had another book coming out!! Her novella The Secret Skin I loved so I will be devouring it. She captures the essence of Oregon so well.
My notebook and I are ready
1:36 LOVE the cover prediction videos! Hope there will be more!
I love that UK cover for The Christmas Guest!
I just love these videos, you catch me up on all the book news I miss! Lots of favourite authors for me this time!!
Great list as always! I hate that the ones I'm most intrigued by are the furthest away. Even though we have so little information, The Creek Girl and Lost Ark Dreaming both sound so good!
A Tempest of Tea is so intriguing omg!!

Your Shadow Half Remains, The Creek Girl, Lost Ark Dreaming, Starling House and Last to Leave the Room all have me really excited 🤩
I put wrangled and entangled and happiness falls on my most anticipated NRs. Thanks lady!
Seeing you talk about Peter Swanson’s new book being a novella made me want to know your novella recomendations! I hope you make a video about that one day❤
Ooohhh!!! I didn’t realize Moon of the Crusted Snow was set up for a sequel. Definitely interested!
I did not expect What Moves the Dead to get a sequel but I'll be picking it up!
Hell yes, I love these videos! I find so many good titles and authors I'd never heard of. 😊
I’m so excited to Kiley Reid’s new novel! She lived in my town while writing it and it’s set at my Alma Mater!
Omg what feasts at night 😍😍😍 i love the cover!!! + it’s a sequel to one of my fav books
The Night Guest sounds really interesting...definitely added that to my TBR
Some of these sound SO good! I really want to read more Gothic horror and I love that some are fantasy/horror mash ups. Amazing!
I preordered Starling House so fast when I saw it was coming out. I love Alix E Harrow.
I love this series!
The Night Guest sounds awesome!!! Definitely putting that on my TBR
I'm so excited to see a Christmas themed story that isn't a romance that I will absolutely be reading, The Christmas Guest.
The more I watch your videos, the more i find new books that I wouldn't have found elsewhere
After the Forest looks sooo good
These are my favorite vids of yours 😊
I follow another channel in Kelowna. They are called You Can’t Eat the Grass and are flower farmers. My two top interests- books and gardens.
Love these videos! It helps remind me of books I need to keep an eye out for in the future!
Oh heck, I've never been this early on a new video....I love upcoming book videos!!!
I was fortunate enough to get to read Happiness Falls from NetGalley ( my April read for emotions!) and it was so good. I think anyone who liked Miracle Creek will like it too.
The Night Guest is really speaking to my little chronic illness girlie heart.
I added a bunch of these to my TBR! 🥰
I always love this video! So many good and weird books to keep an eye out for!
I said I would not pick up any more Peter Swanson and now I want to read that novella xD Lot of other nice things too!
Starling House.. already on my TBR !

OH NO! "The Night Guest" sounds eerily similar to the novel I started last Nanowrimo! Except I didn't use the step counter and my protagonist is younger. Dang....
I will check out Black Sheep and Come & Get It because I've enjoyed the authors' previous work (except Harrison's The Return). Thanks, Kayla!

What am I suppose to do with myself until the next Ashley Winstead book comes out?
Did Kyla just convinced me I NEED to pick up the sequel for Moon of the Crusted Snow even though I gave the first book one star? Absolutely 😂
I can't wait to read Happiness Falls! I really enjoyed Miracle Creek. Just added Black Sheep to my ever-expanding TBR ☺
Wait a sequel to what moves the dead?!?!?
I’m intrigued with most everything!! I can’t wait for these releases!
I didn't love Whisper Down the Lane, but I DID love Ghost Eaters and I liked The Remaking. After Ghost Eaters I will give anything he writes a chance
Some of my favorite videos of yours 👏🏻
Wow, some great covers here! Ever thought about doing a North America vs UK/AUS cover comparison video?
Wait, so you designed a cover featuring dice on the dashboard, and the actual title for the new Finlay is Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. How? 🤯 I am in awe!

yesssss, i've been eagerly awaiting this video 🥰🧡
Added quite a few to my tbr.
Kayla your hair looks sooooooooooooo good
Cli-Fi is 100% my new buzzword!
I love these videos so much! Thanks for adding so many boks to all of our wishlists all the time 😂
I swear I would never know about a book releasing if it wasn’t for these videos
I would take a video of just you and Rob driving around with commentary. Thank you. 😂
the Caitlin Starling cover is truly giving 2002 YA
also omg a rural Oregon forest that devours things - I NEED
Hi, have you ever done a video of fiction books written by celebrities? I see them and I’m always curious as to what they are like! 😂
Yesss can’t wait for Bookshops & Bonedust 🥲
I would love to hear what you think about The Luminous Dead, Caitlin Starling's other book. It's sci fi horror but it takes place underground and it has queer characters. ❤
What resources do you use to stay up to date on new releases?
Love these type of videos!
Let’s see how many of these books will be added to my cart🤔
You should do a video where you redesign covers you don’t like!
yay I cannot wait for Bookshops & Bonedust ! 📚💀
Love to see an Icelandic author on your list 🌍
Love these videos!
I cannot believe we have to wait until 2025 for a new Akwaeke Emezi!
Welp. Thanks to you I just preordered 13 more books. 🤦♀️
the description 😆
Very sad about that Caitlin Sterling cover. You can't follow Death of Jane Lawrence cover up with a flop
Not sure if you care about things like this but a kpop idol name Lily from a group named NMIXX shouted you out. She said you were her favorite “booktuber”. She said it on an app where she can message her fans called bubble.
I was planning on going to sleep but snacks and RUclips it is 😊😊
💜💜
(FACTS OVA FEELINGS). BOOKS hOUR UNFAILING COMPANIONS
Happenstance!
An Inheritance of Magic is going to be amazing! Benedict Jacka’s Alex Verus series is so fun, so I have high expectations for his new AIOM series.
Cli fi is the most horrible word I have ever heard
ugh I* hate when you make these videos
*my wallet
your brave trying to pronounce some of those authors names.
