The fusion has been the most reliable car I have ever owned over the past 26 years, and it handles exceptionally well for a “budget” family sedan. BUT it does feel like Ford intentionally put unnecessary obstacles in the way to discourage DIYers. Thanks for the video.
My local dealership costs around 50$ and I think that’s too much I can get a filter for 20$ or less and do it myself even though this design in my fusion is terrible to gain access to the filter
Well yesterday the no air was coming from the vents and today it's perfectly normal blowing like new . my professional mechanic friens said it's not the filter . it's the relay or blower motor 15 Fusion SE 2.5
They always tell ya to be careful banging around on air bags but could you really set one off by just bumping it with a tool? I mean it takes a bigger beating from bumpy roads and potholes right???
While u were talking about how much the dealership was going to charge you you took off 2 fasteners (?) Below the gloce box? It would help to say what size and or how many. Idk maybe I'm being picky. Or just frustrated cause I'm trying to follow along
Thanks for the help but uh, “you just put it in there, what kind of crappy design is this?!”??? Bro you mean the design where you aren’t pulling your dashboard apart is the dumb one? Lol
Wow, very bad design to something that should take no more than 3 minutes, on my Honda it takes more time to open the new filter bag than to actually get the old one out of the car. Lol
@@ritaspence933 only takes me 2-3 minutes tops to replace my former corolla's cabin filter - just pop out the glove compartment and the hinge on the right side and that's it
@@Kureni yeah same with my Camry . My wife bought this car before we were married . I told her she is not allowed to buy a Ford ever again or we are filing for divorce .
@@justhes yes it could be try doing the same thing on a fiat 500 you would be cursing up a storm don’t even get me started with the oil filter location 🤦🏻♂️
Definitely not. But i think he was saying all of the little stuff he did would have cost him 600 at dealership.transmission fluid, oil change and air filter
All dealerships ahervoré centers are a scam . You can do it yourself for 1:8 of the price or hire someone for at least 1/4 or 1/2 the price of what they charge
I had my fusion for 3 years and never knew this. Thanks bro! I know my filter will be black as night 😂
I've got 80k on mine and I don't know if it's even been changed since I bought it at 58k lol. Probably disgusting im definitely gonna go get one
Thank you. Love how casual this video is. Just a dude explaining how to get a fix done
A+

9 months later and this video is still having value
Yup
I was hoping was just as easy as Hyunday or Kia. No tools required. Common Ford. Tearing apart the dash board every 6-12 months.
Dude its like 3 steps hahaha hire a mechanic if its so hard

Nice job, thank you for easy to follow vid!!!
Really wish you would have told me what size the screws are holding the glove box in
Thanks, you really helped me to do it myself 👍
Not so easy replacement - dismount, too much job, too many screws , why they use screws instead of latch of plastic filter door
It’s pretty easy compared to some others.

What size socket do you need?
I think it's a 7mm

Size 7 mm
The bottom left bolt on my 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid is inaccessible. The space is too tight for my 7mm to fit through. That’s why he doesn’t show you.

Wait....the "climate" burned?
Same reason I looked up your video klamathfalls fires and every time I turn heat or ac on I get hit with a burnt wood smell

Yeah,
But your Honda takes wayyyy longer to get to 60 mph....lol
Ford Fusion Sport Twin Turbo V6 FTW!
Compared to about 90% of all other cars, that looks like kind of a pain in the ass
It’s super easy. Much easier than a Nissan or a Honda.
@@justheslmao no it is not

Agreed. Had 2010 fusion. Cabin was a quick swap. Upgraded to 2017 not looking forward to all these nuances. Lol

Climate Fires? geez
Jeez. In my Kia Optima it was so much easier to get too. This is ridiculous
It’s the same deal in some Hondas and worse in the Nissan cubes.
Thank u
thanks for using some kind of cats paw. everyone else out here just pulling their panels apart with their hands.
Gracias 👍🏻
Arrows up, no?
Air filter arrow need to be pointed down
Good job buddy 👍🏻Terrible design by Ford 👎🏻
Was thinking the same thing! My Honda was easier😭😭😭

This is a joke of a design. My Tacoma there is a trap door at the back of the glove box. Pop it open and you have easy acces. Takes 2-3 mins. F this!
I know right. My Honda was like this too. Such a pain to spend another couple minutes to take the glove box out.
No way it's this much work
Wovv.. my corolla is far better.. 5 mins job
Ford could’ve made this process so much more simply In living in the area like I live with a lot of pine straw this is a horrible design.
Your steering wheel should be where your glove box is.. How strange.
Brit!
Worthless place ever to change air filter 🤣. 🤦🏻
Could be worse.

Climate fires? Hope that's sarcasm
I was being sarcastic but we did have a massive forest fire that filled the air with tons of smoke.
Merci
Climate Fire 🤡😂
Yeah no shit, I laughed so hard when they called it that.
Idk what dealership tried to scam you but a cabin air filter does not cost 600$ to get done 😂

Dealership in Tampa wants $140 for "cabin filtration service". Got the filter at Napa for $14, 8 minute swap including a quick vacuum of the area.
