The wording on vortex trooper says “if this card is destroyed” It doesnt mention “if this card on the field etc etc” meaning if u solemn warning solemn judgment or deck devastation virus vortex trooper, it still draws a card
This is also another reason why siding deck devi vs dragon turbo is kinda stupid/useless, becuz redmd/blue eyes/prime material/koaki meiru/gorz are too big, tragoedia is ? Attack so he is immune to deck devi, and white stone/vortex trooper can be hit but they plus anyways if u destroy them(search blue eyes or get a free draw) it only hurts debri dragon.

I was siding Kamon, but decided that it's too good a card to not main deck. Decks that play face up spells/traps are Blackswings like you said, which also happens to be the 2nd best deck behind Vayu Turbo. You have Heroes and Dragons who play future fusion. You have fairies and sacksworns who main deck royal decree.
Kamon is terrible, against dragon turbo its useless cuz kamon isnt a quick effect, they only/mainly care about the foolish burial dump 5 dragons part of the future fusion effect, if their opponent pops FF with a spell speed 1 effect, they dont care that much, the 5000 attack beatstick is just the cherry on top.
Its only true purpose is vs black whirlwind/mirror match gateway/infernity launcher/wind up factory/dragon ravine/necrovally, Half of these dont exist in edison and u probably wont face the mirror match often since this isnt a tier 1 deck, so kamon should only be in the side deck
This is a good match up for samurai, they don’t special lights or dark so they dont give a fawk about koaki meiru drago(also grandmaster runs over koaki meiru). Hand of the six samurai pops redmd, unless if the dragon player can make a stardust. Most lists have dropped prime material dragon(but some still side deck him). And this is one of the decks that has to play 2 starlight road(they put continuous spells like gateway and united onto the field and they play a considerable amount of traps) so they never lose to the heavy storm that dragon turbo will eventually dig into via all their draw power.
After 2011 February, storm of ragnarok, they dont need to play starlight road anymore to protect their spells/traps from heavy storm cuz they get Shi En and even Naturia beast.
Most lists dont like great shogun shien cuz it requires u to control 2 six samurai to summon him so hes a terrible top deck late game if u dont have anything on the field or hand. Shogun also doesnt have six samurai in his card name so u cant search it out with gateway and u wont get bushido counters on gateway/united when hes summoned, and u wont be able to recycle him with grandmaster’s effect. This is essentially one of if not the most xenophobic/racist deck in yugioh, if you dont have six samurai in your name, they dont want you, which is funny becuz actual real life Japan has always been xenophobic and practiced isolation(don’t interact with the world, no trading)
9:22-9:31 this is another reason why six samurai has to play multiple starlight roads, they drop so many of their resources onto the field(makes sense, grandmaster requires them to summon a lvl 4 or lower first then he can be summoned, continuous spells to gain counters, trap cards etc) And this also a reason why black rose is so good in dragon turbo, u can still clear the opponents field even if u dont draw heavy storm thx to the toolbox of the extra deck. And thats only possible if u play a lvl 3 with less than 500 attack, so that card trooper/vortex trooper/whatever they choose to play is extremely vital to their gameplan
you i think we sam players need heavy slump in our side against these dragon players they just turbo through every thing then use super rejuvenation ... from the time that happens heavy slump these guys for being too greedy.. plus we need dimensional fissure in the side not the main.. i think thats a mistake when we main it.. the deck does really good with out it to be honest
People play six Sam so wrong in Edison. Gotta get those ratios right. I max out on all draw cards. Zanji is not that good you only need 1 copy. 3 hand is mandatory. Morphing jar to help fix slow hands.
Its more so, it’s extremely underpowered, so its gonna be not great regardless. Its very similar to like, playing a weak character in a fighting game(low health or low damage output) People can say they are playing that character wrong, which they might be, but its more so becuz they cant perform well anyways due to the character itself being weak or has limited options(bad mobility no double jump no air dash no flight mode)
I've tried maxing out on all draw cards but then saw hands where all I had was draw cards and no defense with how weak the deck already is for me I've been trying to break the mold on how people usually play samurai and honestly I've had a lot of success with the deck plus it's just so fun to play
I’m trying to optimize the deck to compete in a large tournament. It’s hard because there is so little wiggle room for defensive traps so I’m trying to outpace my opponent by drawing as much as possible and abusing gateway/United
Dragon player didn’t draw off Vortex when it got solemned, the extra card could’ve mattered
The summon gets negated by solemn so he wouldn't draw

I play both of these decks, thats why I know all of this, i love dragons and katanas.

Game one was messy. Sal drew after Aaron ended his turn at 2:18 then activated double Reckless and drew 5. Then put one back.
Luckily they caught it and Sal let Aaron shuffle a random card back
