    Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to make it! I have an existing system in my Juke running from the OEM stereo (amp, front and rear speakers, sub), but I've been wanting to add something like JL's Fix 86 and Twk 88, or a Hertz H8 to flatten the EQ and let me add some more dimension to the sound. The only thing I've wondered is how the heck to get the stereo signal to whichever unit I choose (I have no idea how the installer did it originally). This completely answered that question for me. Thanks!

    So idk if you are still active or not but I’m looking at a 2015 Jeep wrangler unlimited, kinda liking this setup and if you had to describe the difference on audio was it worth the money? I’m sure it was but I haven’t decided on going rca speakers yet 😅😅

    Ouch...running speaker wires & RCAs along side power/ground is a big no no, that's car audio 101. You're just inviting ground loop feedback & alternator hiss into signal. Always run power/ground & signal wire opposite from one another. Mounting cross-over in speaker pod isn't ideal either, you're just taking up air space in addition to speaker displacement depriving speaker of midbass performance. In time vibration is liable to rattle shit loose in cross-over. I know the moron on crutchfield video did it as well...doesnt mean it's right.

    • @withourjeep4702
      @withourjeep4702  7 лет назад

      Hey thanks for your comment. Ideally I would have liked to run them opposite but this was the best way for me. I have no feedback, hissing or any interference. I think your splitting hairs with thinking the crossover is taking up space. If sonic electronix and crutchfield do it that way then its suitable for me. Overall I'm extremely happy with the sound and its way better than I thought it would be. Even with the stock HU. Thanks for watching.

    good video but it wouldnt be a true youtube video without some advice cuz everyone's an expert!..1) shouldnt put anything directly on top of an amp. it generates a lot of heat and heat rises so the lc7 gonna trap that heat so the amp might over heat if youre really cranking it OR the lc7 might overheat but prob not. just sayin 2) throw those butt connectors out the window, solder solder solder and then heat shrink. especially in a jeep.

    Great video! Two question. The head unit has 4 channels and the amp has 5 channels. How did you get the woofer installed , using the 5th channel? How was it wired ? Thanks.

    Did you not put a fuse between the battery & distribution block? I'd be worried about fires if the power wire grounds out between the battery and the amp.

    Great video and links.....
    My project is going to be almost exactly the same on my 2012 JK \m/ that I'll be doing this weekend minus the sub.
    Question: What did you set your high end on your crossovers to? I figure the lowest setting since the tweeters are practically in your face. I know it's probably personal preference but I know I don't want the tweeters screaming in my face and wanted your opinion on the matter.
    Also...How much tweaking did you have to do before you had everything 'dialed in' to the way you like it?

    • @withourjeep4702
      @withourjeep4702  7 лет назад

      Hi and thanks for the comment. I actually left the crossover setting how they came and figured I'd change them later once I got a feel for them. I haven't had to change them though. The tweeters are not too loud at all. As for dialing in all the setting I only had to raise the LOC setting slightly and the subwoofer volume on the amp just a tad. That was really it. It sounds fantastic. Good luck this weekend. - Matt

    In the video you used the remote wire from the cig lighter. Does that turn off when you turn off the Jeep or does it keep it powered? I worry about it draining the battery and have always bridged the remote wire from the head unit. Nice Job!

    I'm still curious about the 2 4 ga wires coming out of the fuse block. One obviously is for the power to the amp. Where does the other one go? You said something about the ground but it didn't make sense to me. Thanks

    I'm doing almost the same install, but with a Hertz HCP 5D amp. I'm having troubles figuring out which wires coming out of the factory head unit like yours are the ones I should use for the sub input into the line output converter. Do you by chance remember how you got your Sub signal to your LOC and what color the wires were?

    Is your OEM system the Infinity upgrade? Just curious as you didn't mention the Infinity amp nor the 8in sub being removed or bypassed. Your vid is going to be very useful as I have the mount, Alpine 5ch amp, Kicker components for front, Kicker coaxial for rear and a Kicker sub for the stock location. Need to find an 8ch LOC since the sub is dual voice coil. Just wondered if you ran the speaker signal from the HU prior to the Infinity amp for a reason, if it has it. Thanks a bunch for your time.

      If I understand you correctly, your front speakers are not performing to your liking right? I'm guessing they are stock? Therefore they are junk. You need to be honest about what you expect from speakers in a jeep also.

    I just installed a JL audio system in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler U. I removed the premium alpine system. My question is what wires did you tap into for each speaker on the factory harness. My harness has a hot and ground along with 6 other wires. I can’t find any diagram showing which wire matches with its corresponding speaker.

      Hey Ryan. I found it but its from a photobucket account and I couldn't get the direct link. See if this link works though. If not google "2016 jeep wrangler speaker wire colors". The picture is the one that says "
      stock radio" in the upper left. However if I remember correctly one of the rear wires was backward.

      Interestingly none of the wires match that guide. I traced all the old speaker wires to the old amp under the steering column. The only wires connecting the amp to the radio are listed below.
      Black/White
      Grey/ Orange
      Grey/Blue or violet

      I have a couple more questions...
      1. I saw that in the fuse in line 2 wires came in and 1 came out that went to positive, why?
      2. What were the bolts and what size to remove the passenger seat?
      3. I saw you had additional wires hooked up to the power and ground wires in the amp, were those for the Lc? If so what gauge did you use for the LC power wire?
      Thank you, Im doing the same install has you on Saturday and want to have everything covered
