ooh, so fun thing I noticed: the polyrhythm gets kind of buried with 4:8 and 4:12 because 8 and 12 are multiples of four, so it just sounds like a softer click and then a louder click, or two softer clicks and then a louder click, working with 8 and 12 respectively.
there's something cool about these polyrhythms. from 0:03 - 0:18, 3 completes 3/4, or 0.75 of its path to the next dot relative to every time 4 completes 1, 3/4 = 0.75 this becomes more apparent in the future, with 4 and 8 8 completes two dots in the same time it takes 4 to complete one. 8/4 = 2 so do 4 and 12, 12 travels three dots every time four travels one. 12/4=3 this might just be a property of comparing polyrhythms that i dont know about but it's cool seeing such patterns in music
Im not a drummer, or a skilled musician, so forgive my stupidity. I have the feeling that the polyrythms, where you can divide the second number by 4, are more „pleasant“ on the ear or less harsh, because the second rythm is more easily spread out over the first. Is that about right?
4:6 is a masterpiece
Meshuggah lol
It's just 2:3 but doubled, what did you expect?
Agreed

As a musician, your choice to play each one three times instead of four is messing with me 😭
I thought I’d be the only one to notice that
but they have one more measure of just 4 to make the full 4 measures
@@TaoDragon_ I like that one :> it's like a pop quiz
4th, 8th and 16th notes are the most common ones in rhythm games. I rarely see 12th notes or 24th notes outside of higher difficulties.
Musicians don’t tend to count in notes outside powers of two. We’d refer to 12th notes as 8th note triplets and 24th notes as 16th note triplets
Just enunciate "Trip-a-let Trip-a-let Trip-a-let Trip-a-let" in your head. It's a very common rhythm.

4:6 and 4:10 is the best
Its amazing that the number that can be divided by 2 has the same beat as 4 in every 2 beat
