    MB W211 Bosch fan is PWM controlled by ECU, my case MaxxECU. It's supposed to be 600w. I also have a smaller core rad and so far did overheat. So now hopefully with the w211 fan it should be better.

    Long time watcher, semi-first time commenter. That segment at 12:00 really hit me at the right time haha. I'm still up against some size constraints but I do want to move towards a more modern/efficient fan and shroud setup versus what I'm dealing with. Appreciate you sharing this info with the world and look forward to seeing more of this and the other projects.

    I also had the same hang-up about running some Delta-PAG stuff - Excellent bits kit don't get me wrong, but if I'm doing an event or am just on a road trip I would always be worried about replacement. Being able to use off the shelf products and more rapidly get replacements is a big plus - It's definitely on my radar and I will strongly consider the silverado fan and mount for future use. Need to settle on a core and then find someone to make a shroud for it.

      Even if you don't have cruising speed overheat issues, which is the main reason for these, It's still a good idea to Aid in air flow through the cooler and the engine compartment.
      While not pretty, you may also want to consider some insulation in the front of the intake.

    I learned a lot talking to the guys at ron davis. I did end up buying a nice rad and fan setup from them but before that they gave me a lot of info. 1 thing that worked for me was sealing all the stack of coolers together so the air didnt stack up at IC and then go AROUND the condensor and radiator. Also the fan will tend to draw stagnant air through rad rather than cooler outside air if its trying to pull through a cooler stack up. My 6.0 turbo LS starion had always ran pretty hot until I did all this.

      @@Calvin-Nelson I was referring to the Delta PAG fans. I bought a dual 11" inch fan shroud assembly. Each fan moved about 1100 CFM. Ive upgraded one side to a 12" "extreme" fan which flows about 1600 cfm. I am putting the AC unit back in my truck and was concerned that I'd have too much of a restriction up front. The 12" brushless fans from Delta flow about 2,000 CFM each. They are thin, relatively light, and they don't draw too many amps. 4,000 cfm or so versus my current 2700 cfm is a big improvement. This product gives me options. Thanks. Keep up the great work

    You want fans pulling thru 75% of the rad cooling surface, and as much airflow as you can get thru the fans. That particular setup had two 2K cfm fans attached to it with a custom shroud.

      It allows the fan to draw air through entire core. People have found it to be beneficial over not having a shroud

      @Calvin-Nelson it's only pulling air behind the fan, the rest is covered.

    Do you think we’ll ever get some atlas 5 cylinder action on the channel?

    • @andrewnelson3733
      @andrewnelson3733 3 месяца назад +1

      Yes. And 4 cylinder stuff too. Time is the challenge. We both work full time. We have a major non car project going on. And Part development. There is a bunch of 4200 stuff coming.. the Mustang...some customer work....the Norstar gets finished...then 2 major 4200 projects...then the 4 and 5 stuff. The volume will increase after I retire in 2 years...but for now we are trying to build the base for the channel

    Crazy how these youtubers throw up a 15-20m vid and then casually say "I've got about 20 hrs in this intake setup". hahahha. 😂
