How stupider could the voter's of California get.
The problem with just having a $950 threshold, is that police will arrest these individuals, then the charges have to be referred to the District Attorney's office, the DA's in a vast majority of these very very liberal cities and counties will not charge the people with anything. This is one of the reasons why the police just don't want to do their damn job because why should they if the da is just going to let them free. In New York illegal immigrants attacked a police officer, they were released on no bail and no charges by the district attorney who will charge people with misdemeanors when it could easily be a felony if the district attorney had balls to actually charge a criminal with a felony.

You know how you solve the problem of not having enough space in a jail for all these thefts? You make the penalty very serious instead of suspended 90 days you make it 3 years. Theft will go way down.
