  • I enjoyed a 5 night stay at the HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL HOTEL located in the exciting Kabukicho Tower, in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku, Tokyo. Located on the 19-39th floors of this brand new entertainment-focused skyscraper, you get some unbelievable views of the surrounding area, including Shinjuku Station, the Godzilla statue, and basically all of the surrounding wards of Tokyo.
The location is fantastic with the Seibu Shinjuku line (access to the Narita Express) literally across the street from the hotel. The main Shinjuku station is a bit of a walk at 10 minutes from the hotel.
You will find many restaurants and other nightlife focused activities around the hotel. If you are looking for an exciting stay, this is the place to be. If you're looking for a more relaxing vibe, this is NOT the place to stay. I couldn't believe I was in Tokyo sometimes when I was here...
I was upgraded from a Premier room to this Suite as a GHA Titanium member. I did have to ask for it, so if you are eligible please do as it is such a huge difference from the miniscule Premier room. I think the Garden Suite is more than double the size of the normal rooms at Hotel Groove.
There's also another hotel inside the Kabukicho Tower: BELLUSTAR TOKYO, A PAN PACIFIC HOTEL. It's located above the Hotel Groove and looks like a much more elevated experience, with rates in general being 2.5-3.5x the rates of Hotel Groove. I'd like to try it one day.
    Thanks for watching!

Any thoughts on the design on the edges of the windows? Never seen that before but limits the view imo

I'll be honest- when I stayed here I couldn't believe I was in Japan. It's not a place I'd stay twice. There was trash on the street, drunk people passed out, and it was generally very noisy even into the night. Access to the main Shinjuku station is also 10 minute walk so the location isn't as attractive as you'd think. The biggest pro is this suite upgrade I received (huge for Tokyo) and the views from all the rooms at this hotel.
