Love that you had Nicki and her husband for a visit. I watch her channel and watch when I’m feeling most escapist. Sunny southern Italy just the opposite of cold snowy Maine the northern most state in the lower 48. Great to see them with all of you.

Clement was modeling not dancing. He looks ‘tres chic’ in his snowsuit and hat with ear flaps. I must say you all made a valiant effort with the Christmas tree, a community effort and all good fun. Especially like the way Marc just threw the garland up on the tree and what’s not to love about ‘Christmas Bat Fairy’. Juliette is gorgeous and with Marc’s coloring just the opposite of Clement fairness like you. They got the best of each of you! Looking forward to watching them grow.

Oh deeear! Poor, poor trees placed crooked in a stand and squished between a sideboard and a working radiator? Oh well. It was the 2020 Christmas tree episode that convinced me to subscribe and follow you. I thought if someone wires extra branches onto their Christmas tree 🎄 what ELSE will this person do??? I laughed for days about your tree!🤣
After watching today's episode I now understand Marc's reluctance in cutting down a beautiful tree, and agree with him whole-heartedly. I love your wonky trees!

To have a perfect Christmas tree, you might want to consider pruning them into shape in late spring. Also by pruning the tips of the branches you encourage lots of side branches to create a fuller Christmas tree for future selections. When to prunes branches to reshape young trees is before 'candling' or before they grow those new tips to their branches or soon thereafter, for best results. You needn't prune every spruce tree in your forest but choose a few to do each year while they are young, 3 to 4 feet tall, and you will have lots to choose from for many Christmases to come. Also, thinning out the plantings of young Christmas trees so they have plenty of room to bush out without deformity in your bush areas will help generate lots of promising trees for future selection. You can also move young spruce trees around ( less than 4 feet tall) to improving spacing or to have them grow in desirable areas. It is best to transplant these seedling in spring and when a few days of rain is forecast.

I love homemade ornaments - more love put into them then the ones you shop for - needs more lights and some ideas for next year - you can string popped popcorn, and fresh cranberries and make a long rope of them and wrap about tree and what we in the USA call icicles - it's a pretty tree.........

I add birds nests in the larger gaps (real nests). For a splash of color, put a baubble in the nest. I have small birds perched on the edges of mine. Almost 40 years ago I was living abroad and came home to find a beautiful intricately woven nest on my bureau. My Dad had found it on the ground and saved it for me. That was my first one and it is in my tree as I write this. Your kids are going to have wonderful memories of laughter associated with decorating the tree.

A tip. When there are gaps in the branches, just hang decorations with varying lengths of string from the branches to give the illusion of a fuller tree. xx lovely tree xx

I think the problem is the type of tree you have on the property, maybe you could plant some more Christmas tree friendly trees for future Christmases or buy one and keep it in a pot for years to come

Thank goodness for mom who got rid of the short tinsel thing at the top of the tree which had made it look like it had been TP’d.😂. I am so glad we got to watch the tree decorating again this year - I so enjoyed last years as well where you tied the tree to the chandelier showing us that it’s not perfection that makes it beautiful. Oh, in farming Christmas trees for the future... If you chainsaw them down at about a foot off the ground they often will start regrowth of a new tree from the feeder root, at least that is what Christmas tree farmers here in Canada have found out.

I think I watched your Christmas tree video 3 or 4 times last yr because I loved it and each time I watched I laughed so hard I had tears. You didn't disappoint this yr either! I adore this tree. Who would have thought to combine two trees?! But then again who would have thought to 'sew' branches into a tree LOL.
