I always wondered why the INDUSTRY never gave him a proper memorial, or adios, or farewell- He "made" radio back in the day! And there will never be another voice like his ever again. Sure, I have heard some impersonators try- But they all SUCK- If they ever do a movie about him and his life, I hope the casting directors won't/don't screw it up-

Shotgun Tom didn't say so but it seems clear that he has styled his broadcast persona after the Wolfman

Of course he did. Also gun is on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. For what? He is a talented self promoter, period!

I've watched this several times. My biggest influence, *Wolfman Jack*.. He was tops on the list of national DJ's.. Guessing this (video of Wolfman) was around 1990-92?
And "Shotgun Tom" Kelly.. Now another influence too!! Shotgun is awesome as well. Super nice guy too from what I know.. Thanx Shotgun!! 😉

Wolfman Jack, Janice Joplin, Von Dutch, Jimmy Hendricks,
and James Dean are my mentors and will for ever live on from the 50's and 60's as teen idols. Thanks "Shotgun Tom" for the sweet memories on video here.

I recall a special day in (circa) 1986 -- Burbank, CA, I came to a stoplight on my little Honda motorcycle (I am almost sure it was on W. Olive Ave heading south - just past Warner Studios and I think at Lakeland Ave) and to my left - a guy in a Cadillac Seville... THE WOLFMAN himself!!!!!!!! OMG!!! (and that was years before "OMG" :-) I recall either sayin' hi and/or saying "Love your work!" - I recall that he waved or said howdy back - WM was a CLASSIC radio personality - The BEST!!!

RIP Wolfman. He is THE reason why I got into the broadcasting field. I'll never be able to repay him for that.
