Feb 22, 1975, my husband and I were married at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel next to the Riviera at 4:30pm. That night, we saw The Stylistics and Petula Clark perform at the Riviera on our wedding night. It makes me sad to see so many changes in the name of progress but such is the way of the world. Thankfully, the Candlelight Wedding Chapel has been relocated to the Clark County Museum and we can visit anytime we are in Las Vegas.
I have to admit I was sad when I saw the building fall. While I adore the Bellagio and the Venetian, I do love the "old-school" casinos. I wasn't around when they were at their greatest but I hate to see them go. So who's next on the hit list? Stratosphere? Circus CIrcus? I guess to get my "old school" fix, I'll need to visit downtown more...
the hotel lost its way, vegas forgot it past, street traffic at that end of the strip dried up - all contributed to the decline. The hotel made big losses - it had to close. Imagine if you were a shareholder? I for one hate the new vegas in comparison, but there you are - life moves on.

It never fails - there's always some chatterbox present at one of these events, dispensing his unsolicited knowledge and annoying everyone else.
No more Vectrex collection display at the CGE Museum.
No more Classic Gaming Expo (www.CGExpo.com) at the Rivera in Las Vegas!
