Being at this show was so emotionally uplifting and special. Tribe makes me feel something no other band does. I'm so glad we drove down from the mountains of east Tennessee. I had just got out of the Army earlier that year and they really helped me get my mind and heart right after doing that bull shit for a few years. Tell someone you love how much they mean to you today and that everything is going to be ok.
What a treat to hear them like this! I've been listening to this on-repeat ever since I found it. While I appreciate how tight they're playing these days... I can't stand their new songs. like at all. I hesitate to articulate what I would trade to hear their 08/09 NYE Tabernacle run filmed & produced as well as this was. Thank you so much for sharing!!! Truly a gem on the internet.
I was there. Freshman at appstate at the time. We drove down to ATL for the 3 nights. Widespread was playing across the street. What a fucking wild time. I couldn't forget it if I tried. Be good to one another.
Widespread at Phillips and Tribe at the Tab in 2013 was a wild collision after both shows ended. I’ve never seen more nitrous in my entire life. At least two dozen tanks if not more all congregated where the ferris wheel now sits. A dude with one leg fell on me when I was inhaling a ballon. Only 23 at the time and man did I have fun. Caught the tribe shows leading up to NYE and then did my due diligence of seeing my favorite band in the world - widespread mother fucking panic! Love the spread ~ spread the love
I've still got this sitting on a shelf, sometimes collecting dust. Just like all DVDs should but I am glad I found it on here because A. It is absolutely in my top 5 (up there with pompeii, stop making sense, and mothership connection, imo); 2. I am reminded of how unreal the audio quality still is. The completely appropriate and nothing-but-tasteful lighting def plays a role in how it sounds; & C. Now I don't have to get that dvd shit out everytime I need someone to see this. Thanks to the old guard ST and everyone involved in this production because it's great!
Not yet! My dad was a huge fan and had been to a few shows before he passed. I can remember him playing their CD’s growing up as a kid. Definitely had a huge impact on my music taste now.
The thing that still blows me away about this after fifteen years is the shot selection. Yeah the audio sounds great but the way this was filmed is so intimate and different looking than anything I’ve seen since.
I didn’t know this got produced!! My girlfriends and I were at the 2005 show. I seriously have tears in my eyes! They interviewed us outside the venue…what is the name of the song at the very end?? STS9 fit perfectly into a crucial part of my life but I only ever owned 1 studio album. We just followed them around for four years 😍
@@ripplebear To be honest I don’t think so :-( but I have GOT to find this DVD to be sure. I was so lost in the music the first time watching I didn’t bother to see if we show up in a crowd shot. 🤩
@@CRS-sc3oj I'm pretty sure it's just one long production, including the interviews - plus the short section about all of the openers that NYE run. If you made it in there you should be able to see it on this upload. Cheers to you though - and to the incredible memories of this era. :)
They’re not now? I know 2.0 took a leap off a cliff then glided to a new territory with wingsuits and Alana leading the way; they’re still good as ever and after maturing gaining even followers and experiencing trying times as a band recently they also put together some of the best STS9 minion runs since 2010 these past 2 and a half years. I’m curious as to why you think they’re not worthy of being called good anymore. Maybe it’s cuz they’re great?
Listening to this on repeat to get me through election night.
Back in a simpler time. Wish we could go back😭.

I was there all 3 nights. They were crushing so hard in 2005. We stayed at the Marriot across from the park. This takes me back.
It’s really cute seeing the boys playing so well and vibing hard off each other . Great videography for 2005 ❤

Man. I remember my buddy showing me this DVD in high school. I then saw them at SCamp in 2007 and have been in love with them ever since.

Awesome show and great videography! Thanks :)
Best sts9 show of all time
That Dance/ISB mashup that starts around the 1:29:00 mark is an all timer. Wow!
I like your view on that one. I always hear evasive, inspire, dance, and even moonsocket, all being sonically related within the repertoire
thank you
Boy the memories 🤘🏼❤️
