    You probably know this by now, but the double pull hood release is pretty cool. The first pull pops the hood like the older cars, the second pull unlocks it so that you can just lift the hood and not have to pull the latch first. So basically, the second pull is the equivalent of sticking your hand under the cracked hood to pull the lever.

    If you think that mileage on your road trip was amazing, I took a road trip and was averaging 51 miles to the gallon. I have to say in my opinion this car is amazing for the price I paid for it.

    Literally just bought this car. Even the same color. I went from a full size Chevy Silverado Pickup to this car. I'm still in transition shock from going from something so big to something so small but this car is fun and zippy. Drives beautiful. I lease my vehicles.

    My brother just got one of these. Trim level below yours, but has all these same features. It's not a bad car, comfortable, surprisingly smooth and quiet, and great fuel economy. Decent styling. It's not fast but powerful enough to haul kids and get the groceries at a reasonable pace. The front end is styled oddly aggressive for what this car is. Would look great on some 17" wheels.

    I own a 2017 Cruze LS and have had it now close to 2 months. I too have went from sports car to economy with this vehicle. I owned a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0t. I have to tell you i was quite surprised at how much i enjoy the Cruze, the engine although, not powerful enough to win any races it does have some "get up and go". I love the economy it gives with the gas mileage and it doesn't hurt when i fill up the tank with $18 - $20 either. Only downside is no cruise control in the LS model. On that note keep on "Cruze'n" and enjoy your first new car.....oh the cookies were an awesome gesture from the dealer!

I'm not sure if it was a certain deal but I got 2 years of Sirius xm and 24gb of free data with $5500k off. There isn't one dislike I can say about this car. The worse mpg I've ever got is 27mpg

    Just got a Cruze as well. The hood release is odd and different but it works. You pull it once to open the hood and again to unlatch it so you don't have to put your fingers under the hood to unlatch it.

    I have the same car in diesel (1.6L). It regularly reports well over 50 MPG on highway and is overall a fun experience. It feels pretty powerful when I go to accelerate and has just enough rumble to remind me occasionally that I'm driving something with an engine in it :D

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 5 лет назад

      I bought the 17 Cruze TDI as well last August. Nice car, but the only thing I wish it had, is a stiffer suspension like a Jetta has. Had a 2013 Jetta TDI before that and taking curves at 75 was easy. With the Cruze, 65 MAX!!!. Yes, you can replace shocks with something better, but I think that if GM really wants to be the new "TDI" equivalent, they need to put stiffer suspension in there. Other than that, very nice car.

    • @ericwood3709
      @ericwood3709 5 лет назад

      @@bmw803 I'll usually go 70 on freeways and haven't noticed any issues with curves, but then I haven't tried a Jetta, either.

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 5 лет назад

      @@ericwood3709 once you drive a Jetta you'll feel the difference. The cruze is fine and I do like it, but if they can just put better suspension it would even be better. I go 80-85 on a regular basis with it and it's pretty stable.

    • @ericwood3709
      @ericwood3709 5 лет назад

      @@bmw803 Speed limits where I live usually don't exceed 65, so I wouldn't drive any car quite that fast :D I wonder more about how the performance feels in one versus the other, like acceleration and the feel of the automatic, not to mention actual fuel economy. Those considerations would matter most to me.

    the fuel economy is on point , I got over 450 miles a tank when I had the 2016 1LT in silver. the brakes are nice and strong. but the powertrain would lag, it would sometimes jolt the car especially when the a/c was on. the aesthetics inside and out is good too.

    • @AutoAuctionRebuilds
      @AutoAuctionRebuilds  7 лет назад +1

      So far I have not had that issue. Hopefully I don't.

    • @tousshong9438
      @tousshong9438 6 лет назад +1

      450 miles to a tank meaning it's only getting average 32 MPG since the car hold only 14 gallon fuel. That's what I have experience when renting a 2015 Cruze. LOL Fue economy is over stating on this car and it has a little 1.4L Turbo.

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 5 лет назад +2

      With the Diesel, I get close to 700 miles. I drive between 75 and 85, so it eats a bit in the economy, but if I was constantly on a 2 lane highway at 60, then I would easily get 700 miles with it.

    Good video, I Was surprised to see you got a gift from the dealer, I guess My dealer does'nt thank I'ts customers sl I missed out on those delicious cookies, but at least I got a $1700 discount. I Owned a 2016 Chevy Cruze Premier with RS package, really Liked the car, It was a nice and smooth daily driver until the turbo started losing power on the highway after 24,000 miles. Chevy fixed it under warranty but I lost faith in my Cruze for Long Road trips. I sold the car, now I own a Golf GTI 2018, it drives sooo much better than the Cruze. Never owned a VW before so I'm crossing my fingers, hope it turns out to be reliable.

    when opening a normal hood, you pull the lever once, then you ha e to find the lock peice under the hood to open it up. when you open the cruzes hood, you pull the lever twice, once to pop the hood, and twice to unlock it because there is no lock you have to find under the hood to open it all the way. no more digging your hand into it to open it.

      I think you're over stating the MPG a little too much on your 15 Accord. Maybe, as you travel down the road and it may shown 40 MPG for a bit with a strong tail wind . I have two Accord a 2014 Accord LX and a 2015 Accord Sport both CVT and the average MPG depends on temperature as well. In the winter in MN, it's average 30-32 MPG mix 90% freeway driving. Spring and fall it's 2 mpg better.

      No they didn't. Its blowing pistons like crazy. LSPI
      Running 17psi stock on a totally leaned out engine @1800 RPM is recipe for disaster..
      It isn't only GM having the issues. But many MFGs.
      Pistons tend to go around 5,000mi - 30,000mi.
      Sometimes longer though. Depends how you drive and if its Auto or Manual.
      Just basically lugging the crap out of itself when the turbo is able to spool at maximum.
      Avoiding lugging the engine helps. Otherwise run 91/93 octane and don't get into the low end to much.
      It's all over google.

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 5 лет назад

      Mine has 25,000 miles on it and no piston has blowned out yet. If they were blowing pistons like flies, there would have been a massive recall already.

I own a 2015 I bought new and admittedly had wanted one of the new redesigned models but not so much anymore as it looks just to small. Give me the exterior of the old Cruze and the interior of the new Cruze and then I'd be happy...
      I got a ton of cookies from my dealer when I bought me Cruze as well. They were good also!

      @@krblanco Exactly, this version looks smaller due to the curvy design (It's actually slightly bigger). I prefer the significant 3 box design of the old one.

      I have a 2017 Cruze. In gentle suburban and highway driving (timing the traffic lights, no significant traffic jams), my driver information display can show a 47+ mpg average. This corresponds to an actual MPG of 44-45. This even though I have a hatchback that's rated 38 highway. Much depends on your driving style and the roads you drive on.

    It’s actually a well put together vehicle. I say that because who would know better than a technician in a body shop for over 40 years. If anyone has seen every car manufacturer come though after some very extensive accidents. With that said my daughter loves this car but Gm had a huge brain fart while making this. I would love for one official at GM to tell me why you can not not have all the safety features along with the sunroof and sound package. Ridiculous. That along with the annoying stop start feature that will drive you insane. It’s a deal breaker so this lease is going back soon

      Ours 2018 gets 50 mpg 40 going to work half and half. Not slow, here in Idaho altitudes of 4000 to 9000 the turbo makes all the difference. Base model. Our Mazda is 2.5 top of the line. We prefer the Chevy, faster at high altitudes. A lot less road noise, Mazda is noisy in comparison.

    @uber man. Do you know why the sedan gets 2 mpg better gas mileage than the hatchback? I couldn't find the curb weight to compare but could it have to do with the fact that the hatch is a slightly taller? I rented the hatch for a week to drive around Boulder Colorado and I loved it. It drives like a nicer car than what it is. I also rented the sedan a few years ago in San Diego California and I loved t then.

    • @iltrmb
      @iltrmb 6 лет назад +1

      Aerodynamics, sedan is about 8" longer than the hatch, and the hatch has a spoiler. It's 2mpg highway, city is same so probably about 1mph overall. I rented a 2014 and liked it, and I tried renting a late model Cruze today to evaluate the start/stop and new infotainment system.

      Greg Marsh I almost bought the 2018 hatchback base LT model. They lowered the price to $17,500 & I still hesitated in pulling the trigger. What ruined it for Chevy was me test driving Mazda 3's. Normally aspirated engine has no lag, better interior & the seats are super ergonomic. I decided to hold off for now. I figured the mpg had to do with the shape.

    • @tousshong9438

      Oh! Yeah, Mazda 3 is much better cars compares to the Cruze as far as engine and driving dynamic goes. Ride and noise quality is about the same but the cruze might be a little bit quieter depends on the tires. I had driven them both as a rental/loaner cars.

      They don't flicker. What you are seeing is the effect of the incompatibility of frequency of the LED strobing VS the camera's limited frame rate. LED's strobe with the electrical frequency, you can't see it with the naked eye, its too fast, but a camera can pick it up.

      It will be a tight squeeze for your passengers, if you're that big and tall. Rear leg rooms are much better then 2016 model but still small. You'll get better rear leg rooms by getting a Sentra or Alitma with similar MPG.
