Yeah, the two runs of episodes I gave you were roughly the two story arcs after the Underdark Arc plus some stuff. I really enjoyed the first 23 episodes (that's why I'm a critter), but agree with most folks that it was a bit scattered and we didn't see the beginning of the Underdark Arc (when they were hired). I think Critical Role did their best to get that flavor in the first two episodes and also folded bits of the first 23 episodes into later parts of the animated show (we'll see a big one in season 2). Also - I like what they do with Pike in the animated show - we'll see what you think!
Oh yeah I'm aware she's pretty much only in half of campaign 1. I was mainly talking about being interested in seeing how they address it in the show. Looking forward to watching both versions of the story :)
We start off with the Briarwood arc because 1. It's truly an amazing story and... 2. Someone who is at the table for the campaign leaves after a certain point so they had to eliminate his character
Yeah I was wondering if it was due to Orion's departure but I figured it was a different reason entirely, considering he is removed after ep 27 (a few episodes already into the briarwood arc). I'll be curious to see how it's handled when I get there. I'm on ep 15 now and honestly I think his character could be removed at any point and it not affecting the story all that much
@ajsomething_ it really doesn't affect the story at all whatsoever! Just for your reference, season 1 covers episodes 24-38 of the campaign, season 2 covers episodes 39-56, and season 3 covers 57-84. Season 3 kind of stops staying as close to the campaign, though...so lots of fun surprises for us that had already seen the campaign!
@@ajsomething_ there are plenty of people that didn't like the changes, but one thing I specifically remember is that it's an adaptation, not a 1 for 1 retelling. The cast has also said they don't like telling the same story twice anyway lol. I will admit, that there was one change that happens in season 3 that I also really didn't like, but it is what it is lol
Grey Griffin gets at least 10 episodes as Delilah and is amazing in every scene!

Ashley Johnson had to miss many sessions of the campaign as she was cast in the network show Blindspot that was shooting in New York.

That's good to hear! Looking forward to experiencing two versions of the story
