    How much torque do I use when putting the brakes back on for the two bolts?

    • @hardlymovingpro
      @hardlymovingpro  3 месяца назад

      I use my impact gun and not a torque wrench. When the bolt stops moving, I let go of the trigger ... which takes a fraction of a second. The tension on the bolt is pretty tight.

    Great video…My 97 es300 has started making a clunking sound that coincides with the rotation of the wheel on the right rear, it sounds like it’s coming from inside the trunk… It doesn’t happen constantly just here and there but is very pronounced when it does. So far no one has given me a sound diagnosis of what it could be. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hello,
    I have lexus es 300 2003 with 227k miles.
    If I want to replace the wheel bearings in the front, Do i just buy the bearing itself and bring it to the shop and have them press the bearing in or should I buy the whole wheel hub assembly with the bearing already pressed in and just replace the whole assembly ? I can't find any videos about the front wheel bearing for this lexus es 300 model. Thank you so much.

      @hardlymovingpro  3 года назад

      Here's a recent video I published where you can do it from home (with the right tools): ruclips.net/video/BW-yWLvIflU/видео.html
      I've seen some ridiculous price quotes ($400 - $600) for this bearing job. You can also buy a new bearing assembly with the steering knuckle to avoid the hassle.

    Would a pretty substantial wobble and rattling as well as sort of feeling an uneven sort of bouncy ride coming specifically from my rear passenger wheel possibly be a sign of a bad bearing??

      Lift the rear end off the ground, spin the tire and listen for any noise. Also push and pull of the wheel while spinning and check for looseness.

      @@lukepowers9472 Front end vibration will be felt through the steering wheel; rear end would be felt through the seats. Front end possible vibration causes: 1. Out of round tires (have it checked out with a "road force" machine) 2. Bent wheel 3. Bent CV axle 4. Out of balance tires(s) 5. Transmission bearing. 6. Worn wheel bearings (at 40 mph, turn steering wheel to the left and right and listen for noise) Rear end vibration causes: 1. Bent wheel 2. Out of round tires 3. Out of balance tires. 4. Worn bearings (noise will get louder as you go faster).
      You can start by moving the front tires to the rear and the rear tires to the front, then take it out on the highway. See if there's a difference.
