One of the saddest scene for me was when he extends his hand to shake her hand, and she doesn’t. He doesn’t know why she can’t shake his hand. Daniel does a great job displaying this very suitable hurt on his face. There was something really sad about that moment. 😢

She’s getting him back; Bond hurt her BAD when he dropped her off on the train and she asks him “How will I know that you’re OK?” and he replies with “You won’t. You’ll never see me again.” You can see her grasping her heart.

I guess if this isn't the only Bond movie you watched ,you have only watch Daniel Craig's movies..
Because it isn't neither Craig's best Bond movie (Skyfall -Casino Royale) or James Bond's Franchise best movie..
Also if we talk about this movie a year after you'll find out that maybe this movie it isn't a James Bond movie at all

I didn't know we need your approval to have our preferences in movies.
I'm a lifelong fan, I've seen all the movies so many times, read all the novels, also some comics, played most of the games. Believing you have more knowledge on a topic than someone else (maybe it's also not true) doesn't mean you have an objective opinion that anyone else should follow.
NTTD is my 2nd favourite movie after CR. I can also explain to you about why its the MOST BOND movie of the Craig era, but i don't think it really matters...

Now that we know Mathilde is indeed Bond’s daughter, it hits really hard when Madeleine told him “she’s not yours”. At that moment it can be interpreted as Madeleine is still mad at Bond for abandoning her, but it also shows how Madeleine doesn’t want her daughter to grow up and suffer as she did. Madeleine’s father was also an assassin. She doesn’t want Bond and Mathilde to have that father-daughter relationship because she knows how dangerous that can be for her daughter so she chose to distance them: let him see her/interact with her but not telling them the truth. And it all makes sense with the ending because Bond will never give his daughter the life that a normal father would/what HE wants her to have. He will be a danger to his loved ones so might as well die heroically knowing they are safe. Such a tragic story 💔

    • @ericpeeters3400
      @ericpeeters3400 Год назад +7

Is completely true what you say.And as sad as we may be about James' death, it is the best solution for everyone in the end.A safe life for their daughter without violence and Madeleine no longer has to lie to her and James which she would have done if James had survived the mission.A normal and happy family they never would not have been for their daughter because their trust towards each other is irreparably damaged unfortunately😥😥

james bond traverses back into the compound, as the royal navy's own missiles rain overhead. the dull concrete walls collapse around him as he limps hastily down the the deepest section of the facility: an old nuclear bunker originally designed to shield occupants from a deadly attack. dust and debris fall right behind him, almost following him. as if some unexplainable force was keeping him on the brink of death, but not quite close enough. as he reaches the bunker doors, the ceiling opens up right above him. missiles pour like rain in a fiery hurricane. he steps inside the blast shelter, closing the thick steel doors with all of his remaining strength. as the hero sits in the dark, the storm of missiles finally stop.
bond's body is wheeled through a cold, white hallway. MI6 agents and personnel surround the stretcher, desperate and curious to know the fate of the legendary 007. he was found passed out and in critical condition by royal navy rescue operations after the bombardment, and had shipped him to a top-secret laboratory as quickly as they could. a regular priority one package. all off the books of course, per M's request. as they brought him into the operations room, Q twirled his pen; most probably analyzing his limp friend. "all right, put him on the table please," he said. and they did. "all right bond. lets get these bullets out of you."
when james bond awoke, he found himself in a hospital bed with a couple of biscuits and a cold mug of tea on the nightstand next to him. him being him, bond scanned the room for any potential threats and was pleasantly surprised when all that sparked his interest was a button next to the bed with a sign that said "assistance." he pressed it, and almost instantly a nurse came into the room and checked up on him. he was fine, apart from the assortment of 9mm bullet holes present along his person. after answering the nurse's questions, she left and returned with Q, before exiting once again.
"look whos awake," said Q, with a slight grin apparent on his face.
"hello, Q," bond responded. his voice was hoarse, but undeniably still his own.
"how was your trip to the island?" Q asked sarcastically.
bond smirked. "all fine until i was almost blown to shit." Q chuckled. "well im quite relieved you didnt. we all thought you-" his smile faded. "thought you had died."
"id like to keep it that way," bond said urgently. "no one can know, apart from those that already do. especially not madeleine and mathilde."
Q responded, "right, of course. i can do that. may i ask why, though?"
"Q, ive been infected," bond said. "if i go near them, theyll die. and i know madeleine. if she knows i survived, she is going to come look for me. i cant risk that."
"so whats your plan then?" Q asked. "the virus is permanent. the nanobots never leave, they cant."
bond looked at him. "you, Q, are the most brilliant person ive ever met. you can find a way, you just need time. and with madeleine unaware, you have all the time in the world."
Q thought for a moment. he thought for several moments, in fact.
he finally broke the silence. "ok bond, you win. we havent tried every solution now, have we?" a rhetorical question. bond smiled, satisfied.
Q left the room, his mind racing with possible cures and solutions.
"bond," he thought. "classic james bond. he never listens, does he?"
ok if you dont wanna read all of that basically james bond survives and keeps madeleine in the dark so Q can find a cure to the virus without risking her or his daughters life.

Surprisingly the song both makes sense if you view it from either Bond’s or Madeleine’s POV. They had potential and great chemistry and I do believe they could’ve made a happy life together if given the chance. It was just tragic that the odds were stacked against them and they couldn’t trust each other as a result of that. The time they spent together as a family was so bittersweet. Still wrecked about the final shot of Bond with Mathilde’s stuff-toy tucked into his suspenders :((

@@luisalonso959 Pretty broad statement (pardon the pun). Guess it all depends on whether one favours brunettes - or blondes. I'd say it's more realistically to be half and half. Unless of course you've sent out a questionnaire to each person who saw both movies...? 😄😉

No. She betrayed him. Not Madeleine and he knew that…

Ian Fleming's James Bond is not a tragic character.
This film (and SPECTRE) are total crap. They are designed to get "reaction videos" rather than being good Bond stories.

Daniel craig wanted to take the bond films into a new direction by giving the character more humanity which makes it relateable and it works.

In Ian Fleming's 1963 novel, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, just after Bond and Tracy are married and are on the way to their honeymoon, Blofeld and Irma Bunt overtake them and machine gun Bond's car. Tracy Bond is shot dead, just hours after marrying Bond. Seems pretty tragic to me.

I have to agree, I think Daniel is great as Bond but they certainly overdramatized these movies towards the end

@@eagleitalia That's called cherry picking. Did you read any of stuff that came before it?
Tracy was killed so that James can go back and be "Bond" again. Married life is not for him. Fleming experimented with some of this stuff towards the end (OHMSS-YOLT-TMWTGG), mostly as a reaction to the critics. They saw his novels as light, extravagant, pop-entertainment and didn't take the novels seriously. Listening to critics can really lead you wrong.

Seems to me, @@bobgoran, that dismissing the murder of his wife on the way to their honeymoon as not tragic is extreme cherry picking. Fleming's Bond wasn't tragic? What about Bond's parents? Someone else must have wrote that they were killed in a mountain climbing accident when Bond was 11? Or maybe being orphaned as a child isn't tragic enough for you?
