    Casey, I love watching your videos as often as they are available. Also love that you are seeking a more balanced life with your health and family. You are an encouragement to others! God Bless!

    Oooh...I can't wait for the shirt dress pattern! Please keep the sleeves. My middle-aged, upper arms need to be covered in public. Congratulations on hitting 100K subscribers! I'm not surprised. You and your channel are top of my favorites list. 😍

      So glad!! Yes, I will definitely keep the sleeves as an option. I keep picturing this fabric as a sleeveless spring/summer dress and can't unsee it! But I think this would be so good with sleeves in a linen fabric, so that will probably be my next sample. :) And thank you! So glad you're enjoying the videos!

    I don't think it's an issue at all doing things out of season. 1) sewers often make projects over a long period of time, 2) not everyone is in the US anyway. I live in Australia, it's summer here. When people watch from all over the world seasons are much less relevant.

    I’m so happy to see you practicing self care and going thrifting! You are setting a great example for all your peers by going out and giving yourself a break and doing things to fill your bucket 👏🏻

    I'm so reassured when you say you're experienced but still make avoidable mistakes because I don't have masses of experience and I make soo many mistakes 😔 I was beginning to think I just wasn't cut out for sewing!

    Oooh!! That shirt dress pattern is looking 🤩! Love that there will be sleeve options. And I can totally visualize a wide-leg jumpsuit hack! The ceramics class looks so fun. Your pieces look great!

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  Год назад +1

      Omg, a wide leg jumpsuit hack would be SO GOOD for a pattern like that! I'm pretty proud of my little vessels haha. I took a wheel throwing class several years ago and kind of gave up on it because it was so challenging (I did hand building instead, which I loved)! This time I am determined to figure out the wheel!

    Q&A question: how did you transition from architecture to pattern design? Did your skills transfer or did you have to learn a whole new set of skills? Are you a one person business or do you have other people working with you?

    I did a five week wheel pottery course a few years ago and I enjoyed it so much. It was nice to have a pastime that where I didn't put as much pressure on myself as with sewing. I fought hard to resist the perfectionism urge and just tried to enjoy the process. I'm a lot more forgiving of my imperfect bowls and cups than I am of garments that don't quite work 😅

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  Год назад +2

      That's exactly how I feel about it! It's something I don't feel pressured to be great at and I can just play with mud 😃

    A question for your Q and A: did you go to fashion school? How did you take the leap to be a pattern designer?

    Congratulations on 100K subscribers - with good reason, as your videos are great! Congratulations on your venture into ceramics as well - seems like a kind of contemplative art form to me. Love the thrift angle of your video also - some of the happiest hours of my life have been spent in thrift stores - in fact, there is one near my daughter's house in Ann Arbor that I just have to go to whenever I visit her, called The Share House. It's a mess inside and out but I love it and could spend the whole day there. My daughter, not so much...😂...

    I also loved your miniature village video. I was surprised and delighted when it came across my feed. I've subscribed to you for about a year and am excited about a little expanding. I still am mainly here for garment sewing but I'm so excited for the other stuff too.

    I'm enjoying your videos - I've recently come back to sewing after a long gap and I've been delighted to find so much content online. I've just bought one of your patterns - I've seen you wearing the byrdie blouse and can't wait to make it. Thank you.

    Thanks for letting us join you in your creative adventures. Ceramics is so much harder than it looks. Your first pieces are fantastic . Will you be able to use the wheel during this class? There’s a learning curve for you. I hope you are enjoying the process. 😊

      Ceramics is challenging! I took a hand building class several years ago and still use the pieces I made. This time I'm doing a wheel throwing class, and it is way more challenging, but the teacher is great and I've been slowly getting it! :)

      I love the Bridget tee! The next time I make it though, I think I’ll have to pull the neckline in a bit. My bra strap shows and I’m always fiddling with it. But I love the style and plan to make more for spring without the sleeves.
