The Oilers should have enough Cap Space to resign all of their RFA and Henrique if they're smart enough to put Evander Kane on IR for the whole season. Obviously to not allow Kane to completely heal will make the difference between a USEFUL PLAYER and a USELESS PLAYER during the long though grind towards the Stanley Cup.

I feel like Nurse should be the guy who moves to the right side. Tell him to start working on his one-timer right now. And pair him with someone reliable defensively like Kulak. Nurse is at his best when he's skating, joining the rush and banging. Defensively his positioning has never really been the best anyways, and on the right side he'll be encouraged to turn his back to center ice more often and lay some hits. He's got wheels and he's got heart - so play him to his strengths.

Consider this as well, lots of General Managers make mistakes on their choices of player personnel, trades and cap management& they're never given another chance. Think how a bad trade can ruin a GM's career just by the perception of that GM's judgment. Doug Risebrough in Calgary made the Doug Gilmour for Gary Leeman trade. Never got another GM job again, assistant yes. Other examples Jay Feaster in Calgary, Joe Nieuwendyk in Dallas, Steve Tambellini in Edmonton, Peter Chiarelli in Edmonton etcetera. They washed out in their careers because of poor judgement & bad choices and no one is lobbying or advocating another chance for them.

He's got 18 points in 89 NHL games and is an RFA he's not making $2 mil and they're $2mil over so just moving Kane would give them likely $2.5 mil cap space.
