Underwater filming looks really fun! I hope to film more soon. It's been over 60 nonstop days of 100F+ weather and not letting up. I can either wait or find a better camera that won't overheat so fast 😬
Thank you Nick! Yes, filming underwater is absolutely a fantastic experience. Here too it was very hot, especially compared to the Mediterranean climate which is famous for being mild. I know, unfortunately, the overheating problems of the Sony RX-100...
Yes. The camera is in 10 bit mode, obviously. I used GoPro Labs and the following QR code commands: !MLOGB=200,-128; !MWIDE=2020; !MBITR=200. This set the Hero 11 to record in a Log curve very similar to Fujifilm F-Log and in REC.2020 color space, also used in F-Log. The higher bitrate is also important to achieve a good result. I edited in DaVinci Resolve and export in HLG (REC.2100). F-Log is a conservative Log curve, so it's ok for the not so great Hero 11 dynamic range.

I tried to set the GoPro 11 to record in Rec.2020 with !MWIDE=2020 but the Quicktime movie inspector still shows BT.709 and not 2020. Am I missing something?@@PaoloBucci-HDR

How did you achieve HLG? Did you use GoPro labs tu change the LOG parameter?
