Sel Marin is one of my favorites. It perfectly captures the salt water air of the central coast, California, where I am from.
I am bummed though because the only authorized dealer of them in the United States (Barney's) went out of business last year. Enjoyed the music in the background.

What a wonderful list. My favourite marine fragrance is Epice Marine from the Hermessence line. The spices (like cardamom and cumin) mixed with the sea salt accord really create the image of a harbour at the seaside. It also reminds me of my holidays in France as I bought a bottle in Paris and wore it during my entire stay in Toulouse. I often wear a single fragrance on holidays so as to create a scent memory that I can relive later on... My scent for Paris is Chypre 21 by Heeley.
Don't know the Hermessence, need to try !
Hey, that's very smart actually, I'm always going on holidays with 100 of scents, but I love the idea to have a unique one to create memories !

I really like Millesime Imperial on a summer day next to the sea but the one i love the most is not even an aquatic. Im talking about Lalique's Encre Noir sport. A late summer to autumn walk by the sea on a slightly windy afternoon. Its a beautiful vetiver scent that i was avoiding for years because of the Sport name on the bottle. Big mistake:). Nice video Clemence!
Aaah I usually get scared also about "sport" flankers, but forget that is just marketing. Never tried this one, but I'm a vetiver lover so I'll have to give it a try !

Creed EROLFA is the greatest marine/oceanic frag in the history of perfumery. The real ambergrisimparts the most photorealistic "salty sea spray in the face while Sailing the Mediterranean" vibe imaginable. Best "After the Rain" scent I've yet put my nose to is Roja Oceania. Good petrichor scent.
I like Heeley Sel Marin too.
Too right about Costa Azzurra Clemence. Never really was a huge fan of that scent myself, but I recently got me some Neroli Voyage from Floris and the advertisements capture the scent perfectly. Wouldn't be out of place in a Rolex Submariner commercial either. Not exactly salty like the neptune grass accord in the Bvlgari Aqva line, but definitely a coastal aquatic. Me like.

Nice review. The Chanel AHS was the first that really worked for me, when it came out in 2004. I have a decant of the Heeley Sel Marin, and to me it is almost like a niche version of Acqua di Giò pour homme. My go-to marine scent nowadays is D&G Light Blue Intense.

I really enjoy Jo Malone Wood sage and sea salt, Maison Margiela Beach Walk, Sailing day and Hermès Un jardin sur la lagune. My favourite one is Dior Balade sauvage. It brings me back so good memories of eating fruits in the sun of a late afternoon after having spent the day on the beach playing and swimming in the ocean.
My family is from the Landes and I spent all my summer holidays there. I'm missing the smell of the pine trees, the fresh air, the ocean, the vegetation of the dunes ... I wish I could find a fragrance that smells exactly like that.
Hmm the Landes sounds to be heaven ! I guess it's so difficult to exactly picture one scent, one day you'll find it !

Nice video. Have you tried any from the Acqua Dell Elba house? I think you would like their Essenza di un'Isola Acqua. It really lasts well, unlike a lot of marine and aquatic perfumes, with salt, citruses, red algae, myrtle, jasmine, moss and cedar. Also from Italy you might want to look at the houses of Acqua di Portofino and Acqua di Genova, both in Liguria in North-West Italy on the Med so there's quite a lot of classic Italian style colognes from them.

Hi Clemence, I believe the camera is adjusting the white balance and is confusing itself from the white sunny background against your also white outfit. That could be the reason why it is readjusting its white balance and causes your video change brightness from time to time. A trick is to wear a dark colour outfit against a bright background. Keep up the good work.
Yes, unfortunately it was because it was also very bright and foggy on that day and my dark outfit were not really appropriate for the weather haha !

my idea for a marine scent is 'Blackbeard' which is the scent of a pirate --- rum, gunpowder, sea, and carribean fruits

just found you! I like to smell unique, stand out in a crowd. I love sensuous fragrances but not too sweet. I'm from the US. In high school I wore this cheap perfume from Revlon called intimate I think it was called. It is ofcoarse discontinued. If you could research and find a parfum that has similar but high quality I would LOVE that very much.

Omg the only marine scent I have is Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Marine fragrances give me a bad headache all the time But not wood sage. The only downside is the overprice and its performance.

And my mother was from The French Riveria, and my father Marseilles. I like the sophisticated Jo Malone, too, no one talks much about his fragrances, other than they do not last as long as one would want, they still smell amazing.
Yes in fact but it really depends on the skin, but this one is a cologne so it has to be a bit more airy !
The cologne intense from Jo Malone are much more long lasting

Sel Marin is arguably the best marine/aquatic scent ever. The only problem is performance. Lasts for like 20 minutes and then disappears completely. Perhaps layering it with Superdose makes sense.

Aqua atlantique is a real skanky ocean scent. From the atomizer it smells like dead fish that washed up on shore. But once worn on skin that kind of goes away. But it is very salty marine like. I wouldn't buy it because it is so skanky but it is true "blue" fragrance.
